Let me try to decipher this 1 loose/loose display, ok 1 MOC/MOC display, ok but what are the other 2 MOCs for? One to hide and the "just in case" is for just in case you can't find the one you hid??? 1 for moc 3 loose, 1 for play, 1 for display & my 3rd back up is loose just incase the play or display one breaks. For example, the other day my SES RSC punk fell off the shelf & his ankle joint broke off. Since I have a back up that I bought when it first came out for 25$, I don't have to go spend 100$ or more to replace it

I don't care on the resale value it just sometimes it looks good and displayed MOC/MIB. I have both loose and MOC/MIB figures. For example the DM moments. The box art looks really good if they are side by side.

I carefully open boxes, and keep them. I don't tend to do much other than pose the figures or display them, so I prefer to do this so I can pick them up and have a good look at them.
I can understand people who keep basics MOC because the box is sealed down, but Elite boxes are made to open and keep with the tabs on the side, so everybody can get their Elites out of the box really. Does value really peak that high for an unopened box?
I find with collections of most things, value is in the eye of the beholder. MOC figures are only really worth what the collector is willing to pay to complete their collection.

I guess it depends on everyone's age too. I mainly collect MOC, I usually end up going on ebay/craigslist to buy loose figures, usually get some good deals.
