Can someone explain to me the thing that people save their figures MOC?
I personally can not understand it because I open all my figures, I indeed keeps the boxes but I'm always open them.
I know their value more expensive as they are reserved inside the box, but still .. can not understand.

To hang them on their walls
Collecting moc is a little more "grown up" I guess you could say or to convince themselves that they are collectables instead of toys for kids
For me i collect both moc and loose if I like the way some figures look moc & if they have special packaging I'll keep em moc or if its a wrestler or figure I really like I'll keep it moc and if I think I'll have a chance to get it signed I'll keep it moc

I don't totally understand it either, though I do have both Kaitlyn figures MOC. I was hoping to one day get them signed. I mean sometimes they look cool in the package so that's part of it. It's mainly that the person isn't going to play with them anyways, so it's probably a mix of liking the look in package and hoping that it will maintain more value.

You open them, other people keep them in the box, some people don't even buy them, everyone is different. We dont need to all be the same.

I'm both, although at times I want to just open them all. The only ones I have hanging are my Legends though.

If the packages look cool, I'm all about it. It's more the enjoyment of the entire product, the package, the toy, all one piece. But I don't think most Mattel packages look cool except the old legends ones so I don't keep any boxes for them. I did keep NWO Hall in the box since it seems like the NWO theme will stay with Nash and I dig that. I like the themed ones like that, or HBK, Cactus etc. There's a graphic design element there I like.

I respect those who collect MOC but I could never do it personally, I just have to get my hands on the figures.
If I ever got my hands on a mega-rare figure, like one of the exclusive Warrior figs, no doubt I would open that bad boy up and lose most of its value!

I only collect Defining Moments MOC. The packaging looks sharp and displays really well. Plus, if you've seen the price tag for some of the older DM's, you wouldn't open them either. And really what's the point. I tried to play with mine the other day and man I tell you, the action on these Mattel figs suck! Nothing like the old Jakks from the 90s.

People collect moc for the same reason you don't, because it's their stuff and they can do what they want with it

I have both MOC and loose and prefer loose WAY more. I also don't understand just collecting for resale value. You can fully appreciate the figure out of the package and pose them when they're loose.

For me personally I buy two of each figure I really like. Ive heard of figures falling off shelves or being picked up after a long time and breaking. I want some back ups and the packaging looks cool.
I collect mostly loose, but when I tear one open its a quick burn high. Like a sugar rush. If I keep them sealed for awhile I have figures to open and mess with when theres gaps of nothing new out.
Also if I did need to pay for an emergency, its easier to sell unopened figures than dusty ones that may be missing paint or accessories.

It's a personal preference. I personally think elites and basics look beautiful in package so I keep them MOC. BPs on the other hand I open because they are a little bulkier.

Why does it matter to you? What's your problem? I want to hear the opinions of others, because I'm not one of those. That's all my friend.

I kept 4 figures MOC in my apartment for about 4 yrs and about 3 more in the house I used to live in. So 7 years of keeping space for those things.
They were of some old jakks figures, figured they would be worth something one day. I checked ebay a few months back and nothing I have goes for higher than 20 bucks. I said screw it and opened them. Threw out the boxes. Now I have a ton of space free in my closet and more figures on my display that take up less room.
Even the most expensive mattel figure that I've seen was maybe 80 bucks MOC. That's peanuts to me. I'd rather get some enjoyment out of the figure than find room for it. Yeah, the new packaging looks amazing, but meh. Nothing is ever going to end being worth much to me on the second hand market, so I'll pass.
If I collect anything mint, I need to get into Nintendo products. Zelda games seem to hold insane value for YEARS. I care about the return investment more than a collectable in that case.
In the meantime, I'll enjoy my loose figures. I don't even mind buying loose, either. It's cheaper lol.

Its not about value to re-sale or anything like that to me. I like keeping some of my figures moc because the boxes are cool, especially exclusives. Its all subjective man, everyone's different

To me its people who still want to collect figures but are afraid that if they take them out others will think they're playing with toys still. When they get to the point to where they stop caring what others think, then they start opening them. I think the idea of keeping them more valuable is somewhat redundant because rarely can you ever resell a figure and make the same or get more money for it.
