Surprised that the jacket is plastic. Why is this a DM again? Because of the paint job?

I like it, I like the one JAKKS made for TNA a few years ago better though I have these Jakks Stings. I like them. DM Sting looks OK. Will pick it up. The boots are off but that is my only complaint. Maybe we will get lucky and Amazon will have it real cheap like they did with Taker

Razor and Hogan DMs didn't come with anything that wouldn't be in a regular elite. Some elites cane with more. Some elites literally come with 1 stupid thing and still cost $20 plus tax. Stop comparing all of this crap.
It's one thing to generally dislike it or find problems but the whole DM thing is it's own issue outside of this. To me. DMs are just elites that cost $5 more. Big whoop. As far as this figure is concerned, it's meaningless. If you want to get into value look at the HOF 4 Horsemen. $50 for 4 elites one with a vest. That's $12.50 a toy. That's a bargain even with no accessories since some $20 elites have nothing more than a vest or shirt. Then if you got that set on sale, geeze!
My point is, is there's all sorts of pricing discrepancies with all of the toys. In the end, is that figure something you want? Or want enough to grab before a possible sale? Maybe start a new thread complaining about the cost issues.
Back to this. Again, boots will be fixed go read MDTs post. As a fan of this era of Sting I'm happy. The face looks like Sting to me but is making an un Sting like face, kind of more of a Warrior expression. I'm still not bothered by it. I prefer the plastic jacket since I think soft goods look baggy and weird and it would not have the details.

I hope that Mattel still has time to change the boots. Just like they had time to change the beard on Razor Ramon.

The figure could have everything that you're all clamoring about, but would still find something whine about.
I dont know why so many posters think they can do the job better.
Figure looks great and you know you're all gonna buy it

I'm glad we got confirmation that the boots will be fixed, and a rationale for the jacket. I agree a cloth jacket would have been primo, but I'll still buy two of these guys. I also bet the head scan will look better in hand. The zoom-in close-ups can make one focus on specific areas, which are not as apparent when the figure is in front of you.

This Sting can easily be done in an elite series line. I thought the DM with the higher price warranted more premium items to be included. We also got short changed on the Hogan with the plastic shirt.

I have said this a few times since the relaunch of the DM line. We are paying for the name as all these guys are the big names...which probably cost Mattel more to sign. Hogan Sting Razoqr Flair
At least with both Sting's they were actually defining moments in his career. I find it funny people are bitching about the GAB Sting being a DF while many in the past have said they wanted Goldberg as a DM. They then say to justify a guy in plain black trunks as a DM he could come with two titles. (Which would have to be WWE belts as they don't have the rights to make WCW Titles) If they did that it would still be an Elite. Elite Series 10(?) Big Show had two titles as a regular elite. These new DM I feel we are paying for the name and honestly I have no problem with that. For the most part they have all looked fantastic.

I'm not sure how I feel about the face sculpt. It's not the best, but it's not bad. I love that they included the rat tail nub, even though it should probably be a little longer. The fact that it's there at all is pretty great. I like the jacket. I understand the problem with it, but I'll just put him on a shelf anyway, so it should be ok. Only downside is I can't really put the title belt on him. I don't think a vinyl jacket would have looked any better. Disappointed they still didn't change the boots, but that's a minor issue in the scheme of things. Paint all looks great, and it's our first surfer sting, so it will be mine for sure. Of course, I'll get any that come in elite. I hope we get orange and blue at some point. That's one I might even buy the basic for, it i have to.

I wonder how much it would have cost them to retool the jacket from Defining Moments Macho Man?

They only produce who WWE has under contract right? The way I took it was Mattel gives the WWE a list of who they want to make and then the WWE says who is approved (under contract/Legends deal) then Mattel makes a deal with with the wrestler for their likeness. I could be wrong but that is how I thought it worked.
