WrestleMania will be exactly 70 days since Triple H won the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble. That is more than twice the usual 30 day title defense rule.

Brock Lesnar was champion for 7 months and defended it twice. This "rule" only counts when they want it to based on the storyline.

Yeah that "rule" gets to be avoided ,even kayfabe wise, when the boss is the champion. Lol.....but even if it were brought up, the precedent set up by Lesnar's reign kind of negates that anyway. But in todays age, those older rules just don't seem to apply unless its convenient. However ,for the record, i would love a return to those older rules like that, and top 10 rankings and such, as it just added a certain legitimacy to the titles and the titles perception by the fans. Simple things like that can go a long way in restoring some of the lost sheen the titles have suffered since the 90s.

Funny thing is I don't remember that rule ever being broken until Brock was champ in 2014/2015.
