E-LI DRAKE! Is money, that's just a fact of life! Damn right. Dude can cut a promo. I totally agree with the Discount Colt Cabana comment. Like that hits the nail right on the head imo. I think once you kind of understand that, he's much easier to tolerate. I said this in the weekly thread but he walks the finest line between terrible and hilarious, but TNA continues to keep him just a hair towards the hilarious side imo. I think what a lot of fans don't like about Grado, and to a lesser extent Cabana, is that they remind you that wrestling doesn't need to be taken seriously all of the time, which is pretty counter culture to how the IWC views wrestling as a whole. It's why so many people hated Santino. I'll agree that Grado is a ball of goop to look at but it's not like he's unskilled. Could I take him or leave him? Yes, absolutely, but I do think there is a place for his act within the world of pro wrestling. Eli Drake sucks. Cabana is great. It isnt about taking wrestling serious. This dude aint fun. I like Cabana. I know Grado is his buddy so maybe that's why you're comparing the two. I'd honestly say Grado is more of a chubby Santino. He has his moments but I don't get the appeal myself. And he certainly doesn't seem like a great wrestler.
And yeah, Eli Drake is dull as a door nail, but there's no comparison between him and Grado. TNA unfortunately has a lot of dead weight. Jesse Godderz, for instance. He's got the look but no 'it factor' (although I liked him on Big Brother).

I like him
I love the bumbling foreigner gimmick and when he starts going on a tirade you can't understand a dam thing he says its hilarious
A few weeks ago when he was all beat up and tired and tries to hop on the forklift and drive off then he ask the camera guy if he took his keys
That had me dying laughing
I'm still undecided on odarg the great

The most enjoyment i had when watching Grado was when he was announced to be fired from TNA in that feast or fired unveiling with that cold mofo faker Jeremy Borash telling Grado to pack his things & get out of the building within 10 minutes, Grado crying & blubbering "could this be the end of TNA Impact's Grado?" & seeing him struggling to open a briefcase that was gold for me.
However, i can see him overstaying his welcome & soon becoming another Santino/comedy character who panders to the kids with unfunny jokes.. atm i can tolerate him but that can all change..

they also have a guy called crazzy steve ... Crazy Steve isn't even close to annoying. It's really cool seeing the stuff Crazy Steve and Abyss are doing currently. It brings an unpredictable element to the tag division that TNA had way back when. Grado does nothing and brings nothing to the table. He just rambles and acts like an idiot. |
