9 kilometer walk (about 5.5 miles) in just over an hour wearing steel toe boots today. My calves are pounding.

Forced myself to workout even though I really did not want to at all. Always feels better after.

Been doing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu; 3 times week. On top of one cardio sesson; and two weight lifting sessions a week.

Calves are fine, but whatever the muscles/tendons are that connect my foot to my leg are on fire today. Feels like I did 14 million standing toe raises yesterday.

Feels like I did 14 million standing toe raises yesterday. You're one scary dude doing that with work boots. I hate work boots. When I was a Correction Officer at my county jail; i'd get horrible aches from doing 16 hour shifts in my work boots. They weren't fun to run to disturbances in either. So I give you props!

But; I think it'll do wonders with the activities I already take part in. It's been even better for my mental health; helps take out a lot of stress.

Shredding has went well; however some poor choices in the past 2 weeks; I need to double down a little harder to throw off the little bad gains. Going to try to have posistive week after rough one in the Gym; Running; and in Jiu Jitsu.

so despite a province wide lockdown on gyms, mine is choosing to stay open but with limited capacity. bylaw officers showed up during training yesterday and were knocking on all the doors.
gotta respect my gym for sticking this through, the virus is serious but so is one's personal mental and physical health.

I haven't been to the gym in about four or five days. Which for me feels like a lifetime. When I don't go for more than three days I start talking myself out of going at all. But I'm going today. My biggest problem is my lack of confidence when doing new exercises/more weight. I talk myself out of it, convince myself I can't do it. That's why I have a hard time progressing alot of the time. How do I stop being such a self-loathing f*ck?

How do I stop being such a self-loathing f*ck? It's been my experience in pretty much every gym I've trained at, that there is a sort of attitude hierarchy at the gym. The ones who are 'judgy' and act like king kong, are usually actually quite crappy at it themselves, and pretty much projecting their own insecurities. The ones at the top, the actual strong mf'ers who have been paying tribute to the iron gods for years on end, are often the nicest people in the whole buidling. They may not go out of their way to talk to you, since they're there to get a job done, but they're the last ones passing judgement. What type of exercises are you talking yourself out of right now?

Oof, I hate my shoulders. The only solace, is that this being my 4th case of shoulder impingement, I have zero need to go see a physio. I know exactly how to treat it myself at this point haha.

I'm the anti-social mofo. I don't talk to nobody, I go out of my way to look away from people, I pretend they aren't there. Really my only problem right now is chest, when I deal with weight that I know I can do physically but have never actually done before I turn into a terrified little b*tch. I recently did the full weight rack on the butterfly machine (290lbs) after trying to do it for months, I did it twice after three tries. On the chest press machine (which is way heavier that the weight says it is) I can do 150lbs 5 times but can't even do 155 once. That's the major one for me that I just can't get better at. Even if my gym had a bench (which they don't) I would never do it because that's something I want to do alone in my garage blasting music. Chest is my weakness mentally, not physically.
