"This is a song that I wrote in a time in my life when I was very, very, very sad. Breakfast, actually. Did I mention that I cried?" God, f*ck Morrissey seven ways to Sunday. I only got into The Smiths in the last year and a half, but I'm really enjoying them. Haven't delved into any of his solo stuff. I'm a casual Smiths fan but Morrissey the person is the dirt worst.

I am neither.
Morrissey sounds like he's stuck in a perpetual yawn when he sings.

DID. I. MENTION. THAT. I. CRIED.
FACK the Smiths. Is there any possible echelon lower than having Reel Big Fish cover one of your songs and bringing it to a point where it goes from insipidly boastful in its morosity to actually listenable in its tongue in cheek?

I'm not sure I'd consider anything involving Reel Big Fish as listenable.

I'm not sure I'd consider anything involving Reel Big Fish as listenable. That was sort of the point. I've been into them long enough to have gotten past the "haha ska is cool so random!" phase and recognize that while I rarely, if ever, stop being sonically attracted to something I was in the past, they're absolutely hot garbage. So really, how bad do the Smiths have to be for me to approach a cover track with that mindset and still give the nod to the RBF approach?

I'm starting to think you have a complicated, passionate, love-hate sexual attraction to Morrissey.

The fact that you've worked that one up in your mind is altogether more strange than any contempt that I might hold for some wheepy ass Englishman.

You like Ska, so maybe be a little less critical of The Smiths.

I also used to frequent an area goth club and once spent an hour at a Christian music festival bending Randy Stonehill's here, so nah, f*ck the Smiths.

Butthole Surfers Monster Magnet Bardo Pond Jimi Hendrix Pink Floyd
Those are five I would absolutely want in my playlist but its a small fraction of what I listen to. I could just as easily say Spiritualized, Lockgroove, King Crimson, Beastie Boys, and Beck. Asking me to pick five is like asking a parent to pick their favorite child (assuming they have more than one to choose from).

At the moment, I can't order my top 5, but here's 5 I really with at the moment. 1) Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas 2) Bloodhound Gang 3) Primus 4) The Streets 5) Suede
