You don't know the half of it. I'd love to see your playlist. It's probably symptomatic of the borderline characteristics of my collection that I only actually make playlists when I need to narrow down an artist or a particular genre. I don't do "idea" playlists - I'm more content to just throw on shuffle and let it take me somewhere, and it's probably more indicative of how far stretching things can get for me. For you, I jotted down the first five off my shuffle this morning as they came on: 1. She's Always a Woman - Billy Joel 2. A Song for Steve - MC Lars 3. Stompbox - Jonee Earthquake Band 4. Beautiful City - Stephen Schwartz (Godspell 2000 off-Broadway Cast Recording) 5. Black Horses - Slaine Only one of those even factors into my top artists, which is sort of a rotating cast of four slots that groups can drop in and out of on a whim, with an ever present firm #1. It changes all the time, but based on my most recent listening habits, right now it fixtures something like this: The Mighty Mighty Bosstones Billy Joel Steve Earle Metallica Bruce Springsteen Beyond that, I get into really weird moods where I'll go really heavy on a genre or a handful of artists at a time, and one song can bang a hard left on all of that. Lately, I've been diving heavy back into my collection of show tunes and trying to rack up some more, notably "In the Heights", "Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812", "Hamilton", and "Tick, Tick....Boom". Blink 182 has been up there lately because that album last year was the tits. I saw Volbeat back in May opening for Metallica and they got their hooks in me, and I've really been digging on Ghost (tremendously late to that party), because I like my metal like I like my Mexican food - laden with cheese. I also noted this morning on my ride in that my iPod is conspicuous in its complete lack of Wesley Willis material, so that's probably going to be a project for this evening.

My music tastes are all over the place and completely depends on my mood and more importantly what I'm writing at the time, the only playlists I put together are dedicated to scripts I'm working on, but my top three are pretty much cemented in stone. Four and five can fluctuate by the hour but I reckon this is as close to a 'top five' as I could put together.
1. David Bowie 2. Biffy Clyro 3. Jimi Hendrix 4. Lissie 5. Crystal Castles

Or immediately banned from the WFWF. Why? I don't buy for a single second anyone with half an inkling about music trying to tell me that FoB doesn't have a god damn stranglehold on what it is they do. Those guys have a collective pop sensibility that's through the god damn roof and their catalogue has got more hooks than an overcompensating tackle box.

Saw them at a festival last year and wasn't expecting much but they blew the roof off the place, which is impressive since it was an outdoor festival. The way I see music is that nobody's got any right to judge anybody else. Everyone's got different tastes. There's plenty of stuff out there with a huge fanbase that I don't understand the appeal of but that doesn't mean there isn't any.

Hence my care in ensuring that I only mock Morrissey, and not Morrissey's legions.

I wouldn't even know where to start picking 5 of my favourite artists/bands mate. There are very few that have enough of a consistency throughout their discography that I would feel confident saying they're my favourite. For instance there may be an album I would consider in my top 5 but maybe I think everything else by that artist isn't up to scratch. Picking my 5 favourite albums, whilst still an absolute head f*ck, would be closer to feasible.

I've been listening to them for 13 years and have a FOB inspired tattoo and would take a bullet for them.
