Yay for rainouts! Hopefully every game Sonny Gray is scheduled to pitch gets rained out and we can just skip him. Hopefully they do not pitch him tonight and skip right to Tanaka.

**looks at calendar**
Hey Pirates, your collapse is a little early this year. Does that mean you'll NOT play like crap in August and September?

I can’t recall ever seeing the standings the way they are now. With 5 more games played Boston leads by .5 games, but the Yankees still have a better winning percentage. Weird.

They list them first by the winning %, if you’ll notice under the GB column it says 0.5 for them but nothing for Boston.

And Detroit being 3.5 out while being under .500 Dodgers and Giants are 3 behind under .500 too. I was just referencing the AL East specially tho, but yeah a couple other divisions have close races with under .500 teams.

Josh Harrison moonwalking back to home plate playfully to avoid the tag at first is the greatest thing I've ever seen.

So this happened: Juan Soto hit a home run for the Nat's in a game that started five days BEFORE he was called up to the majors.

Unlike Ronda Rousey, this kid CAN go back in time. Hit his 6th career home run BEFORE his 1st career home run.

Juan Soto is only 19. That kid is going to be the truth. In a few years we may be calling him the best player in the game. He's already a Yankee killer.

so New York Yankees amiright?! So far so good. Just need to avoid injuries and I'd love for Cash to add another starter. And if possible we need to trade for Brad Hand, just to keep him from going to the Red Sox or Astros, because both teams are missing a really elite relief pitcher outside of their closer. The bullpen is the one real advantage the Yankees have over the teams they are likely to meet in the Postseason. Even if Cash doesn't feel like WE need Brad Hand, we need him to stay off of the Red Sox and Astros more. In 2000 we got Jose Canseco just to keep him away from the Red Sox, so it's been done before. I'd get him anyway just because outside of Chapman, you have no lefty relievers you can trust and he's only coming in to save games. Chasen Shreve is a disaster. It would be nice to have a lefty you can bring in at any time to put out a fire, like how Cleveland had been using Andrew Miller previous to this year and all his injuries this season.
