Hopefully not. Sweep works better for me. Sevy was dealing last night.

lol there's no way the Yankees sweep the Phillies. We've got Luis ing Cessa pitching today. He'll give up 9 runs, the Angels will roll over for the Red Sox and then we can only have a 1 game lead in the loss column when we start the series with them this weekend.

Should be better off with CC against Boston tho instead of German. Then again Gray is going on Saturday and on a given day German would be a better choice than him.

Aaron Boone loves to rest superstars before off days. He always rests one of Judge, Stanton, Torres or Sanchez (before going on DL) before an off day so they get 2 days off....and we always lose those games. Is it that important that they get 2 days off? They are all so young, one would think that the off day would be enough.
Instead you bench Judge last night and a lineup that ALREADY was missing Sanchez and he didn't even start Romine for some reason ended up scoring 0 runs and now it's down to a 1 game lead over the Red Sox (in the loss column).
What a disaster.

its what we call "scheduled loss"...as dumb as that sounds.
you want everyone fresh ready to go for this weekend. its a long season and guys get hurt so easily as it is...mostly from overuse, they are gonna lose some games along the way so id rather have a game lost in late June than late September. i know nothing is guaranteed in baseball but its not like anyone was super hot and a 2 day break will cool them off.
with a game up on boston we go into this weekend almost no pressure. win 1 game and we come out at least tied. win 2 games and we're still up. i have confidence this team will give boston a tough time this weekend.

The Yankees will lose at least 2 out of 3. Game 1: Eduardo Rodriguez....we can't hit this guy. He's like Cy Young against us. CC, even when good, is never perfect. He'll give up a couple...against Rodriguez, a couple may be too many. Could be a close game, but all signs point to a probable L. Game 2: Sonny Gray pitches like a bag of dicks in Yankee Stadium and the Yankees have never done anything with Chris Sale. Guaranteed L. Game 3: Yanks only shot at a W. Sevy is our ace, and the Yankees have historically done well against Price. Buut, the Yankees also love to lose on ESPN Sunday Night Baseball, so it's a toss up for me. The Yankees bats need to get it together because if the offense stays as pathetic as its been, the pitching really isn't going to matter. 1-0 and 10-0 are the same thing when you can't score. And the Yanks really should just DFA Neil Walker and bring up Drury, and and I would really DFA Shreve and call up ANYBODY....is Tommy Kahnle not ready yet? He was sent down to AAA on June 4 to build up arm strength. Not due to injury, not due to poor performance, to build up arm strength because it was felt that due to his time on the DL he was not throwing at full velocity and he needed to get stronger.....looks like he's since pitched 8.2 innings and only given up 2 runs. CALL HIM UP.

I agree about Shreve. He doesn’t need to be around anymore. Get Khanle up. Also, I bet Boston is playing all of their guys tonight with no off day before our series. Why do a couple of our guys need 2 days? I’d be more understanding if we didn’t have an off day.

It may not be MLB, but the College World Series game last night was pretty crazy and now Oregon State, after being an out away from losing it all yesterday, wins last night and tonight to take the title.

It all worked tonight. Two homers off Rodriguez, 5 runs, two more homers against the pen, and CC with 1 run in 7 innings. Needed that with the matchup tomorrow, but you never know so here’s hoping Gray doesn’t totally suck and they can score a few off Sale.

yo Lorenzo..can you keep predicting Yankee L's? lol
seriously though, there could not have been a more opposite result tonight than what happened vs what you said last post. im incredibly glad you were wrong. haha thats crazy.
tomorrow is gonna be a tough game for sure, but if Bird/Stanton/Judge/Andujar keep up their pace they can hit it off anyone. might not be 8-1, but i could see the yankees pulling out a win tomorrow....Gray has been pitching better, and if you can make Sale work and get to boston's ass bullpen, they could win one of those "5-4" games.

BIG spot tonight for Sale. In Yankee Stadium. Both teams battling for the top spot. Cant wait.

Phillies have almost the exact record at this point in the season as they had in 2008.
Can Philadelphia survive another parade on Broad St. this year?

Let’s see the Phillies make the playoffs first. At least the Eagles led the conference all year.
