I would be very surprised if they made the playoffs. That division has 4 teams above .500 right now, and then you have Washington, Atlanta, and Philly in the East with Arizona and Colorado in the West... it could be a huge fight for the Wild Card with a lot of good teams. Our WC chanced that slim at our pace? I can't imagine they can hold the division so that's likely the hope.

damn the Dodgers suck ass I LOVE IT! I don't start following baseball until around July 4th so I'm a little out of it. I thought the Dodgers were supposed to be good. Is Magic Johnson not spending his money wisely?

Yeah they are supposed to be good, but they're not right now. And I believe Kershaw is still on the DL.

Ohtani, scared to pitch in Yankee Stadium, is no longer the announced starting pitcher for the Angels on Sunday opposing Masahiro Tanaka.
The Angels are saying they are pushing him back due to "workload issues".

Dodgers are only 3 games behind in the loss column.....you guys are acting like they are dead and buried. They played mediocre last year for most of the first half of the season and they went 41-10 and ran away with it. Yeah they've got some injuries, but Arizona is tanking and Colorado and SF have mediocre teams, in my opinion. Just like the Washington Nationals are sort of hovering in the NL East (also 3 games back), I still think it's their Division to lose. Dodgers and Nationals could explode at any time and take their respective divisions.

Plus like I said, only 3 games behind with 113 left to play. You guys were acting like they're done for. If they get some guys back from the DL, and maybe make a move or 2 at the deadline....they'll still win that division.

They have started winning some games the last 10 days or so, and Arizona has been BAD the last two weeks, so it has definitely been a nice swing for the Dodgers.

all sports in general should really do away with "divisions" and "division titles"...all that bullshit. nobody ing cares about winning a division title leagues i get...you obviously have to have an AL and NL or an AFC/NFC, EAST/WEST, etc playoffs should be the BEST "X" teams in each league. theres no reason in baseball a team with like 80 wins should get a first round playoff series over a team with say 95 wins because that team tied with another in the same "division"

I think divisions work best in baseball. And the extra wild card team makes it even less of a chance that a team gets in with a record worse than a team that didn’t make it.
The NBA, divisions mean nothing. Winning them doesn’t even give you an advtantage. If you play a lower seed with a better record, the lower seed will get homecourt. I would have no issues with the NBA being strictly conferences. And that’s the only change. No changing the playoff format.
The NFL, I think it’s fine. Sure, you get 8-8 or 7-9 situations once in a great while, but it happens. It doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Things play out the way they play out sometimes.

Yeah I think divisions works good for MLB and the NFL but they are worthless in the NBA you got so many teams making the playoffs anyways. I couldnt tell you who won all the divisions this year in the NBA.

Surprised that Hanley Ramirez got DFA. I thought they would send somebody down to the minors to free up space for Pedroia.

Things play out the way they play out sometimes. in 2008 the Patriots went 11-5 and didn't make the playoffs, while the 8-8 Chargers did and that was ONLY because the chargers "won" the AFC west In 2010 both the Giants and the Bucs were 10-6 and didnt get in the playoffs but the Seahawks won the AFC west with a 7-9 record and they got in thats only 2 examples but im sure there are dozens more. the "division" concept only exists to sell t-shirts and for scheduling purposes...but they could easily fix the schedule. i just think it would make things more interesting if teams didnt have to only care about winning a division and actually had to just win. and on top of that you come up with easy tie-breaker fixes like record vs AFC opponents, or even scoring related ones.
