Good thing Andujar hit that HR. Would’ve been a no-hitter.

degrom is having a great season Sucks it’s being wasted playing for the Mets. Imagine the damage he’d do on a contender with a good offense.

Great Sox/Yanks series so far. 2 down, 2 to go.

Good thing Andujar hit that HR. Would’ve been a no-hitter. Its not a Rick Porchello game without one of his pitches ending up in the...porch.

Nobody tell the Pirates that they're not playing post break ball the way they usually do. I'm witnessing a miracle down here.

With the Yankees having lost 5 in a row and currently not capable of scoring any runs at all, I'm glad Aaron Boone managed to get BOTH Luke Voigt and Shane Robinson in the lineup.

5 straight wins for those Fightins. Season high 15 games over .500, already to 63, at 111 games in, when they've struggled over 162 to reach 60 and not lose triple digit games over the last 6 seasons. Mighty proud to call them my team, and have done so for nearly my entire life. This team will be something special for quite a few years to come.

Yanks got their asses handed to them this weekend, no doubt. Even after being swept this weekend I still think that they are a "good" team. The problem is that the Red Sox are a GREAT team. When it's all said and done, the Red Sox might end up being the best team EVER.
But as I said, the Yankees are still a good team. They will get Judge and Sanchez back, and they've got 46 games left against other teams that's are NOT the Red Sox to make sure that they maintain the lead in the #1 Wild Card spot.
Then, the Yankees need to go and win the one game Playoff against either Oakland or Seattle. If we do all that, yeah, we face the Red Sox in the ALDS, but all the pressure will be on THEM and we literally have nothing to lose. Winning 120 regular season games only matters if you back it up by winning the World Series.
Yanks just need to get their sh*t together against other teams and maybe try and take 4 out of the remaining 6 against Boston just to prove a point.
Other than that, you just take your chances and see what happens.

As long as we're healthy and playing the way we did for about 2.5 months, we can win against anyone in any park. We allowed 4, 4, and 5 runs the last three games... with a normal/healthy offense that's probably 2 wins.

Yankees are cooked. They have no fight, no heart, no balls. Aaron Boone is not a good manager, I can't think of one thing he's done this year that has motivated or helped this teams mentality. He just tows the company line and after they get ing swept and embarrassed by their biggest rival he says "we're not gonna let this series define our season" Boone is no better than Girardi at this point, just doing everything "by the book" and never even trying anything outside the stats and numbers. This series isnt a "wake up call", its not gonna "light a fire"...these phrases i keep seeing. at this point i'd be surprised if the yankees made the wild card, let alone won it. Judge is a phenomenal player, but he's not the entire team. Sanchez has been crapmost of the season. they arent coming back and turning this team into a juggernaut. im just so disgusted with the approach, the coaching, everything this team has been most of the season.

The Minnesota Twins give their ace to the Yankos for a bag of balls and he throws a shutout against the White Sox

I find it hard to believe that someone with an ERA over 5 was a team's ace.

The Phillies wasted 8 innings of shutout ball from Jake Arrieta and lost it 3-2 in 14. Still sitting 63-49, so I'm not angry at that much, but still angry enough that they let ARI score twice in the bottom of the 9th to send it to extras. Seranthony Dominguez needs to be slapped upside his head for that outing.

The Minnesota Twins give their ace to the Yankos for a bag of balls and he throws a shutout against the White Sox I don't think Tyler Austin was a "bag of balls". At the time we traded him he had 8 home runs and 23 RBI's in 34 games played so far in 2018. Given Greg Bird's tendency to suffer injuries which cost him SIGNIFICANT amount of time on the DL, the Yankees may very well regret trading Tyler Austin. Regardless of how 2018 ends, if the Yankees go into 2019 counting on Greg Bird to be the starting first basemen again and he AGAIN suffers another injury....The Yankees do not currently have any real depth at first in their organization at this time. Now, hear me out on this as I know some people are going to get it and other people are going to call me a bitchy Yankees fan: The Yankees could VERY easily solve two major issues by converting Gary Sanchez to a first basemen. Issue #1: The Yankees need to solve this issue at first. Greg Bird keeps getting hurt, he's really streaky even when he does play. He's never played more than 58 games in any season of his career (current 2018 total), so we don' even know what a full season of Greg Bird is even like. Issue #2: Gary Sanchez is a HORRIBLE defensive catcher. There's no getting around that. His reaction time on pitches that are not on target is super slow, and he can't handle blocking anything in the dirt. The amount of passed balls he allows, which cause runners to advance and score is completely unacceptable. Gary Sanchez is the type of guy who can give you 4/100 (when healthy, I know 2018 has been a lost year for him). So really, if I was the Yankees, these would be my goals moving into 2019. Fix the starting rotation, obviously, but a lot of that is going to happen internally: 1: Luis Severino - I think he'll be better in 2019. He's probably overworked due to the amount of innings last year and this year combined. 2: Justus Sheffield will start in 2019. 3: Masahiro Tanaka has really been pretty good in 2018. For starters #4 and #5, the Yankees will be active on the trade/free agent market. Also, Domingo German, Jonathan Loaisiga, AND Chance Adams are all options, PLUS Jordan Montgomery will be coming back from Tommy John surgery at some point next season (August?). Depending on how they end 2018 and what their contract demands are, J.A. Happ and Lance Lynn could also be options. And on the topic of Gary Sanchez that I talked about above, I would convert Gary Sanchez to a First Basemen and obtain another starting catcher.

Chalk it up as a learning experience and move on to the next one.
