Compare that to an actor or tv star each time their show is on-demand or reruns/airs on tv, do they get a royalty each time for that? No!
Actually, they do. That's comparing apples to tire irons though. It's a much different thing.
My question is this. How many matches does Rene Dupree have on the Network that he would get more than 10 or 15 bucks in royalties if the WWE actually HAD worked that into contracts? I think he is woefully misremembering his footprint in the history of the company.
But if it gets him a few bucks to have a competent tattoo artist take a whack at covering up the craphe got inked onto his body, I'm all for it. What is on his chest? A lopsided IKEA bookshelf?

It's not like they're creating figures and poster of the guy. It's footage that existed when he left the company. No different than it being on dvds at the time. He's gotta try to pay for his roids and crapty tattoos somehow. Jesus. He looks like absolute sh**.

Did Rene start abusing hard substances the moment he was released?
My god. He's aged like 30 years.

Wrestlers suing WWE years after they have left because they're broke always amuses me.

Anyone read the latest update? Wwe's attorney commented on this and says a buyout deal was signed in 2011 voiding any future royalties. So...

There's no way this goes anywhere. Scott Keith said it perfectly:
"I’m no lawyer, but I do know he doesn’t have a leg to stand on. WWE contracts are very specifically worded, saying that you get royalties from specific things (home video releases, merchandise, TV appearances, whatever) and they specifically outline what those things are and leave almost no room for future vague things like "online streaming services that don’t exist when you signed the contract." "
This is just a pathetic attempt at a former nothing mid-carder who's looking for a cheap payday. Hopefully him and no one else in his position will get a dime out of this

Isn't this basically what Punk said one time? I'm certain he said something about wanting a % Just wanted to answer this. Punk's issue was that they were never able to give him a clear and concise answer as to how PPV payouts were gonna work when before network PPV's were like $50+ but the network allowed people to see them for $9.99 and he was irritated that they couldn't give him answers. I don't recall him ever requesting a percentage from the network. He did get a nice paycheck from 2K for the video game after his release.

He's aged like 30 years. even while he worked with wwe he had developing substance issues. mostly of the painkiller variety i believe. when i first read his name i thought 100% it was going to be a sexual assault charge brought on against pat patterson/the wwe. considering it would be pat's second time under public scrutiny for a sexual act, that would've been a pretty explosive case.

That pic of him is disturbing
I didn't even know it was possible for the human body to look like that
So this idiot accepted a buyout 5 years ago and still thinks he is owed?
Them drugs must have taken a toll cause im pretty sure the whole point of the buyout is so he can't do what he is doing with this suit
Since someone as low level as him got a buyout it wouldn't surprise me if wwe didn't offer some kind of buy out for the more well known guys before they launched the network just to keep themselves(wwe) safe

Notice how he is the only one on the lawsuit. The only others I see joining are Vito and Billy Jack Hayes, which should give some perspective.
If you want to see someone who did legitimately get screwed over for royalties, go look in the music industry. Blizzard of Ozz was supposed to be the name of the band, not just the album. Sharon and the record company changed the printing of the album, kicked Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake out, removed their credits, and replaced them in the promotional photos. Daisley and Kerslake eventually won a suit in 1986 about the credits and were compensated for not receiving royalties. Daisley oddly worked with Osbourne from 1979-1981, 1983-1985, 1988, 1991, and 1994, presumably to write lyrics as that was one of his claims and the 5 albums he co-wrote and performed on were Ozzy's most successful. In 2002, the original recordings were Remastered with the the bass and drums re-recorded. Those were the standard issue until 2011, when the 30th Anniversary Editions of Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman were released. Ironically, Daisley was in possession of a lot of the recordings of rehearsals and writing sessions that were supposed to be on the Anniversary Editions. The material didn't end up on those editions as the record company and Sharon refused to give Daisley a royalty for them, which he demanded.

No where in that did it say we could lose the network. It doesn't need to say that If this lawsuit got upheld and WWE had to pay pretty much EVERY superstar, from WWE, WCW, ECW etc royalties per event shown EVERYTIME they play an old Raw, Nitro, PPV etc they could have to pay 15/20 wrestlers money I doubt we'd loose the network, but if this is upheld I could see a price increase
