Without any kind of story/showcase mode it makes this game an easy pass for me. This will be the first WWE game I don't buy.  ing THIS! glad someone said this, i dont know why 2k think we enjoy these same modes every year, it was alright when they first did it in 13 but every year the same mode? cmon. |

MyCareer was a joke in 2K16. Impossible to finish it truly. And the achievements? Gah, don't even get me started. It just can't be done - buying all managers, maxing out all skills. never played it and im glad i didnt. the career mode on 15 was one of the worst modes i played... even than the 24/7 mode on 08. |

omg they are actually removing those awful showcase modes?  hopefully now they replace it with a proper story mode thats actually enjoyable... but not getting my hopes up just yet. i also think they should get rid of universe and career mode while they are at it and get some modes that are actually meaningful, hell i'd even welcome back create a story back. |

omg they are actually removing those awful showcase modes? hopefully now they replace it with a proper story mode thats actually enjoyable... but not getting my hopes up just yet. i also think they should get rid of universe and career mode while they are at it and get some modes that are actually meaningful, hell i'd even welcome back create a story back. Have they mentioned if they will do away with reversal system from 2k16? the limited number of reversals killed that game for me, and I hope that its done away with this year.

It discourages you from using anyone with less than 4 reversal bars, and thats more than half the roster. |

I am thrilled they've decided to focus on Universe and My Career modes along with bringing back Backstage areas & custom entrance videos.
I like the create a victory idea so not everyone celebrates the same way.
The Promo Engine is definitely a great step in trying to fix the randomness of universe mode where feuds and teams form for almost no reason.
Or one moment there shaking hands and the next there is a attack then your matched against that person over and over with no continued story build.
will it be perfect? no but the increased attention on improvements in these areas rather then a showcase definitely has me thinking that it is indeed time for me to upgrade.
I have been holding out playing 2k14 and continuing to tweak every aspect of my CAW roster.
if they bring back custom music and have at least 100 CAW slots i am sold.
i think one other thing that would be awesome is if they could make it where you could take a pic with your phone and upload the image to use say in Create a arena.
looking forward to seeing & reading more on this.

The reversal system is one of my favourite additions to last years game-play, it made using reversals more strategic than lucky button mashing.
I can't wait to see the layout of Universe Mode, hopefully it displays the whole card.
Maybe the Promos will be segments on the show (like in GM mode) rather than random cutscenes?
With that said I don't remember the last cut-scene I even saw in 2k16, I customise my own cards so much that I see no kind of story input by the game itself.
Hopefully the inclusion of run-ins won't ruin the mode, they were far too often used in MyCareer Mode (literally every start to a rivalry.... and then every other week after that)

Showcase mode bored me, so i'm glad they are removing it to focus more on the other features. If they did an original story mode that wasn't playing old matches over and over then I'd be very interested in that. Universe mode and MyCareer are the modes I play, and i'm glad to hear about the focus on gameplay and the even bigger roster. Can't wait to get the game, and even have the NXT edition preordered so very excited now!
