For the people who think that the removal of showcase mode is a bad idea they must don't have the wwe network. Cause that's all showcase mode is to me; a series of matches i can relive via wwe network.Focusing on the core game experience is what matters. I started getting back into wrestling games with wwe 12 and been playing them since. Universe Mode is what made me really enjoy the game. While it can get boring at times i still enjoy it. Story Designer is cool but im 35 years old with a job and a son. I can't put time into making a show like some people lol. I just really hope they fix universe mode where you don't have sting and the undertaker wrestling in a match the first week of their rivalry. Have some build up to certain matches then they actual match at a ppv. Add more rivals and make Money in the Bank more meaningful like calling the guy Mr. MITB. Have the announcers recognize what happened in prior rivals and what happened the year before just like nba 2k's association mode. Fix that damn stable/tag team system. Let managers be apart of stables and paired with whoever you put them with at all times. Bring back special guest referees and have new attires for ppvs and you my friends are looking at one happy customer lol.

i dont know how to really play it, but when i last played it (which was 2k15 just to get trophies) all it was was playing random matches i was bored.

Thats why... If you set up your rivalries, shows, rosters, etc you will enjoy it.. Just gotta be creative with it.

It's actually very simple just a bit time consuming. Think about a real wwe show, mess with superstars rivals and allies, make tag teams and break up teams as you go along. I run 4 shows in my universe WCW, RAW, SMACKDOWN, and Classic RAW. I split up the nxt roster between the first 3 brands. I edit any match I don't want on the show and sometimes make my own full cards. Change some of the superstars attributes as well. Basically that is how to play the universe. Just remember it's your universe.

Wow. Everyone who knows how to play loves universe? Let's not be insulting or pretend universe is awesome the way that it is. At least in my opinion it was hot garbage until this year where they are FINALLY making improvements for the first time since its inception in 2010 or 11. Everyone wants something different from these games, but I can't be the only one who got sick of just doing matches with no actual story. I don't have the imagination to pretend that the same 5 pre/post match attack, guy comes out and does belt motion, ref gets ko'd by clothesline, handshake, or mid match distraction cut scenes are enough to make a compelling feud. Nobody has any personality, stables mean nothing, cutscenes are limited and conflicting, there are no real options, it has truly been awful. It's the only mode I play - mostly due to the roster depth, but I can definitely understand how some people can hate it, although wanting it removed is ridiculous. It's glorified exhibition.

I've always been a huge proponent of both GM Mode and SD. GM Mode allowed you to create a show. All you needed to maintain a feud was either book the rivals in ANY kind of match (you could even combine two in one match!) Or do a (off screen) promo. I would play that for the whole year until the next game came out. SD took it a step further (although we lost some other cool GM stuff). When they took out Story Designer, they completely took out the ability to truly have your own universe. That's where I built shows, booked cards, and had real feuds that actually made sense. You could even create a card to look and flow like a show, including intros and scenes with commentators. Universe has NONE of that, and as a mode has been far inferior to both GM Mode and SD. This is why I'm beyond psyched at what I've heard. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it'll be perfect, but the line is drawn, they've made improvements to the historically (by devs) forgotten mode, so the possibility for future improvements is on the horizon. this is exciting, they have a chance to win over the critics and create a deeper overall experience.

im too lazy for that and have no imagination, only thing i do care is to keep up with the roster and change when they turn heels, or if they get injured, etc.

Universal Mode for is fun, thougj they should have had aspects of GM Mode and Story Designer. Hopefully this year we see Universe Mode be similar to what i feel it should be
