Guys, I have some bad news, I updated my prediction, and I don't think Mick Foley will return, and yet Cameron might: What's really strange is that there's no room for King Barrett even though he left on good terms like Cody did. Also, Cameron makes the cut since Cactus Jack by himself wouldn't make any sense at all. Edit: Screw it, I'm putting in Chad Gable and Jason Jordan, mainly because I don't want Cameron and HTM to return. I thought we saw Gable and Jordan on the box art of the nXt edition, so I'd bet on them being in. |

I doubt they are taking Foley out, it wouldn't make sense. He has been under contract for most of the year. Foley's contract is sorta weird though, they already cancelled a Cactus Jack action figure because of it so it's possible that they couldn't sign him again or they're leaving him out for DLC. Maybe as a New Generation Mankind? Also, once again, if the numbers in the original reveal were correct, I doubt they would have left the ones up after it was speculated and hyped, much less today. Even if the numbers were correct, it could also be the case that they have (a) secret reveal(s) in each of the pictures, as there are definitely clues that could construed into representing stars that weren't announced. And while they said the 150 count of superstars was an earlier estimate, I doubt up to 20 people were cut from that. You're totally ignoring the fact that the reveal doesn't include duplicates, WWE 2K16 had a default roster of 133 playable characters, I'm predicting that WWE 2K17 will have 129 unique characters along 12+ duplicates and the day one DLC characters (who are probably on the disc) get that total to about 150. The Foley figure was cancelled last year. And they said 150 stars, which doesn't indicate if duplicates are counted. I am not saying you're prediction is impossible, but I don't it. What about Cassidy now going only by Big Cass? Where is Rhyno? The Miz is marked under T on WWE's website. Cena and Banks are also locks from E3. |

It's sad to see some of the wrestlers being removed from the game, some I wish they just updated and kept in.
Some that they have kept in seem questionable and out of place.
I know they don't have a showcase mode but that shouldn't be a reason not to add legends and past superstars to the game, they should try to represent each era with a good roster.
But I'm psyched for what they're showing with the current roster.

What about Cassidy now going only by Big Cass? Too recent No room for him unless Ric Flair somehow doesn't return because Paige, Piper, and Reigns are obviously coming back. The Miz is marked under T on WWE's website. I originally had Rock and Miz with the other T's but since Stardust was confirmed I moved them so unless Typhoon and Stevie Ray aren't returning, which I don't see happening, they had to fit in elsewhere. Cena and Banks are also locks from E3. Doesn't change anything. You're focusing too much about why I could be wrong when I'm basing this list from an official source and when it's obvious what direction they're going with regarding this year's roster. |

I'm normally not a current-gen gamer. I'm usually content playing all my old 8/16 bit games with my Retron 5. However, I do have an ancient (by today's standards) 360 that was gifted to me, already red-ring repaired. No Wi-Fi or online compatibility. I've played WWE 12, 13, then 2K14, and 2K16. I'm contemplating whether or not to spend birthday money next month for 2K17, so I have a question or two... With no Online capability, I've unlocked all content the old fashioned way. Now, as a busy married guy, my time for that would be limited at best. With no Showcase this year, and no way to pay for content, how would a partially locked roster be unlocked? Also, is it possible that all on-disc playable characters might be there, ready to go for 360? (minus eventual DLC of course, which I've always done without). Thank you for reading. Just trying to figure if it'll be a smart purchase this time. I'm a last-gen gamer as well. Unfortunately, we're not likely to really hear much in the way of news for last gen versions of 2K17 until either really close to release or even after the release when someone buys it and posts online about it. I'd imagine that unlocking characters would be via either them just being unlocked from the start for PS3 and 360 versions or having to be unlocked through various tasks in Universe mode. I suppose it's possible they implement a watered-down version of My Career for last gen players, given that showcase is gone, but I think Universe is much more likely. |
