Dark Horizons and E! News are reporting that Netflix is trying to revive the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling as a half hour comedy... www.darkhorizons.com/news/43308/netflix-plans-women-s-wrestle-comedy-glowProduced by the same people that oversee Orange Is the New Black. Lucha Underground has shown that you can produce a seasonal wrestling show that is successful. So following that format could work. My biggest question is will this be set in the "real world" where they know wrestling is fake and scripted and these girls are only trying to get famous and such from an acting job? Or will it be set in "wrestling world" where the girls are going after titles and having feuds and the like? Action figures would be good. OITNB at least has pop figures. |

I got that this was just gonna be a sitcom set in the world of GLOW. Not that they are actually bringing GLOW back as a wrestling show. I got the vibe this was just gonna be a comedy about a girl working at GLOW. I could be wrong though.

My interest tanked when I read that it was going to be a comedy. That's pretty disappointing to me.

^In defense, from what I have read, its not like the original series was some hard-hitting drama to begin with. It was all pure 80s schlock.

I'd imagine that's who they're aiming for. |

Just saw this gets released tomorrow...
i'll watch it...
I sort of hope they have "characters" that were on the original show... like a big bad mama, or that zombie girl whos name I forget... or the farmers daughter...
