 Amazing to see Punk on an actual UFC poster...we all knew it would happen, but to see it and know it's just next month? Crazy. What do you guys think?  |

I thought he was fighting at middle? I think he started off at MW, but was considering WW (depending on how much weight he'd lose and which weight suited him more). I definitely think his frame/body is more suited to WW. |

I've gotta say, as much as I want him to win and do well, his stand-up looked pretty terrible and his ground-game... well, not much better. I really hope he's improved a lot since then though and surprises us... stranger things have happened. |

Man, XMRush was taking shots at Punk today. I dont disagree with their points. I cant hate that they feel Punk should be fighting in regionals and NOT in UFC. But facts are facts. Punk is money...at least for now. Dana White is a businessman. To not sign Punk and put him on a UFC card is letting someone else make bank when he had every opportunity to strike first. I could be an MMA fighter who was 15-0 and been fighting years on years, just looking for a chance. I would passed over for guys like Punk every single day of the week. Punk is an established brand.
Remember....follow the money. When people say Connor/Diaz 3 may or may not happen...you are kidding yourselves. There is too much money on the line for BOTH fighters. 155, 170...does not matter. This trilogy WILL happen because there is too much money on the line for it not to happen. I predict the losing purse to fight 3 will be bigger than Connor's 3 million guarantee.
As far as Punk goes....his star power will only get him so far. Can he get destroyed and yet still draw a 2nd UFC fight....absolutely. But I dont believe he will make it to a 3rd main fight card if he is destroyed in his 2nd fight.

I can't wait to attend my first UFC fight. I remember telling my dad that we should travel to New York to attend the first show in MSG. But then i heard about UFC coming to Cleveland and I'm like screw MSG (even though it is an interest of mine to see a wrestling or MMA show at MSG), we're going to the first and probably only show in Cleveland

Pretty funny with his moving truck getting stuck! I admit his standup still didn't look as evolved as it could've been, but you can see he's hungry to learn and get better. I also thought it was cool Lars was there, that was good of him. |
