Worst selling figs has to be the early Legends waves. When the line was canceled, MDT even said anyone not named Savage or Warrior didn't sell. The quote below pretty much hits the nail on the head. Remember when the Legend figures were on clearance and were still rotting shelves? Lots of names in those lines. We've gotten 1 Snuka. 2 Slaughters, etc Look how many Cena figures there are. Rey. Taker. Triple H. HBK. Rock. Look at it this way.. would one of the top toy corps in the world constantly produce figures of wrestlers that don't sell? You all know the answer is no. I don't even know how this is still any kind of discussion. The most realistic answer would be people who are under contract but have minimal figures.

No one could answer this question. You're absolutely right. I doubt Mattel even knows down to the individual wrestler

I did pick up some of the Legends line: Perfect, Savage, Texas Tornado, Martel, Bigelow.
Why it sold poorly I don't know.

Take Sgt Slaughter for example. His iconic look is his cameo gear and that's how fans remember him. Releasing his first figure in an attire that most people weren't familiar with was a huge mistake. Same goes for Terry Funk and LOD.

They can tell you exactly how many boxes of each series were shipped. And thats exactly how they know what to make again. While it's in their interest that stores sell figures and reorder, the ultimate metric is from the primary source. They don't care how many a particular target sold. Only that they shipped 10,000 Del Rio's and enough were sold downstream for more to be ordered next time.

They did but I think it was too late. They made the right decision with Bulldog, Pillman, Savage and Perfect but most of S1 and S2 were not selling.

If we knew in 2011 that we would be up to 250 superstars by Mattel now, including many many flashbacks, I think we would still have legends.

I did pick up some of the Legends line: Perfect, Savage, Texas Tornado, Martel, Bigelow. Why it sold poorly I don't know. Also aside from poor attire choices. Collectors were still in Jakks mode with tons of figs and it seems most didn't want to start a new brand all over again. I remember so many complaints of the "too skinny" new Mattel line because everyone was used to Jakks' steroid molds.

However someone I knew was a big wrestling fan. He took me to TRU. I went to see the legends - Perfect, Bigelow, etc. I bought Perfect and I was hooked.

Sycho Sid for UK didn't sell well at all, a lot of Flashbacks don't really sell well and Smyths discounted Sasha and Eva for £2.99 they can't of been selling well.

The CS had nice looking cards too so they did look way better than the Legends. I honestly Mattel should've waited for maybe 2 uears until they considered a Legends series.

If everybody else besides Del Rio sold well, they won't just send cases without Del Rio. all they will know is that the series as a whole sold.

Drax Shadow. Zero total sales for that wrestler who was signed to an official contract last year and has had his own action figure made.

False... the Legends packaging was awesome! I do agree that Mattel should have maybe waited a while before launching the Legends series though. I predict Tugboat will be a disaster. Yeah - and outside of the hardcore collectors, I think Magnum is going to be a bit of a shelf-warmer too.
