Caught it again this morning in IMAX 3D which made the viewing experience that much better! Still in love with the movie and will be seeing it a few more times. I am hoping that Star Wars can knock out Avatar for the highest grossing film of all time...it's making some serious money. My theater's showing was 9:00am and I've never seen a theater that packed before on a weekend morning.

Had a chance at seeing it again tonight. But 6 hours in a theater is too much for me in one day. Especially at this age. When I was younger I could have done it easily.

I will say without going into much detail, I was very surprised with how small of a role Captain Phasma had. They way they were acting, I expected her to have a much larger part. Or at least be a bad-ass or something. Neither of those things happened. I was really surprised by the lack of her as well. They cast Brienne of Tarth and constantly show her in promotional stuff, but she did nothing in the movie. Maybe she'll be back for the sequels? Overall, I loved this movie. It's probably my third favorite Star Wars (behind ESB and the original). They did a great job of blending the old and new characters, I'm really excited to see where Rey, Finn, and Poe go from here. Also, where's all the BB-8 love in this thread?
I said this in Banter, but the final lightsaber fight is easily one of my favorites in the series. The setting, brutality, and the steal by Rey really made it for me. I'm looking forward to the rematch. Edit: Tagged some stuff because of vague spoilers

She wasn't at all. Least not yet. What I loved the most about the final lightsaber battle was the grittiness of it. It wasn't over stylized like the prequels were. It was very reminiscent of the original trilogy.

She's already confirmed for VIII -- Phasma has a considerable role in the new trilogy, so it's been said.Response in white ^^^ to avoid spoilers.

Have her off to the side and leave her mysterious so people get interested in her. But in the only big part she had she looked extremely vulnerable, so I don't think it worked quite as well. Going to see it again tomorrow at a theatre that has luxury leather recliners, should be neat. Saw it first time in Ultrascreen 3D and will see it in IMAX as well but figured second time around I'll just see it in standard so my glasses won't get foggy from the tears of joy again.

Truly a phenomenal piece of cinema that not only blew every single one of the prequels out of the water, but was also up there amongst the best of the entire franchise. Without going into spoilers (is there an official "Spoilers Thread" for this movie here, BTW?) I really don't have a single complaint about the movie. It was just outstanding, and I left with a feeling that I haven't felt since I saw The Dark Knight. The old-school humor in this movie was great and brought back so many memories of the classic one-liners in the original trilogy. The actors and actresses chosen were perfect for their roles, the storytelling and character depth were on point and it was just overall amazing visually. JJ Abrams is such a fantastic director. Thank you, JJ, for allowing me to relive my childhood again.
My only disappointment was that it ended and we have to wait two years now for Episode 8. Major bummer. I so want to see where everything leads as soon as possible and now have to spend the next two years drawing up a million conspiracy theories as to where everything is going to lead to. And I honestly never felt that way with any of the prequels.
I've already gone back to watch "A New Hope" and "Empire" tonight. I'm so hooked, I just want more as soon as possible. I'm already seeing it again on Tuesday in IMAX again.

Luckily it isn't actually 2 years, just about a year and a half as Episode 8 will come out May 2017 and at least we'll also have the first off-shoot movie Rogue One around this time next year and it'll be a short time between those two movies as well. So happy that the future of Star Wars looks brighter than ever.

For him to resurrect the franchise the way he did after how badly Lucas botched the prequels is really amazing, I give him all the credit in the world.

I'm actually not sure how much JJ Abrams is going to be involved in the later films, he's not slated to direct or write any of them (to my knowledge). However Rian Johnson will be writing/directing XII and writing IX, so I wouldn't be worried. (He made Looper and directed the "Ozymandias" episode of Breaking Bad if you didn't know.) I wouldn't be surprised if Abrams is still on as a producer or something, though.

Seeing this movie yesterday with some of my closest childhood friends was one of the greatest feelings I've ever had.
That being said, I don't remember off the top of my head any time where people gave a standing ovation in the theater after a film ends. I'm proud to say I experienced that yesterday.
That also being said, I loved this movie and can't wait to watch it again.

I believe some of you are overly harsh on the prequels. Each of them had alot of promise and I personally think Revenge of the Sith is the 2nd or 3rd best in the series.
The Force Awakens was awesome. I saw it Friday morning and I've yet to stop thinking about it.. One thing you could notice was missing was George Lucas. Alot of you may think this was a good thing, but I think he should have had some sort of a consultant role. Something that bothered me alot was how Chewie didn't hug Leia when they got back from Starkiller base. She knew Han was gone, Chewie had just lost Han.. Those two have the most history, so why would Chewie walk right past her while Leia hugs Rey?
Unless Rey ends up being the other Solo child, this wouldn't make any sense.
Another thing was they had no other mention of Han after they returned.. No ceremony to pay respect or mourn Han.. And then they immediately rush the search for Luke.. I think JJ said thy had to cut about 20 or 25 minutes.. I think it showed in certain parts.
I could sit here and nitpick, but I'm not right now. I loved the movie, I keep thinking about the movie, I can't wait to see it again so I can enjoy it one more time and have a much clearer perspective.

My expectations were high going into this movie, based on the use of practical effects, the returning original cast, and J.J Abrams directing it all. I don't know how, but this movie blew my very high expectations out of the water. This was my favorite or second favorite Star Wars movie and I'm glad Disney will give another generation a great Star Wars trilogy.

I wonder what happens after they complete this new trilogy.. Do they wait 6 or 7 years and do another trilogy?
Are we gonna get a new set of Star Wars trilogies every decade?

I guess Daniel Craig played a Stormtrooper. In a weird way, that's pretty awesome.
I love that they kept Kylo Ren alive. I need to see more of his story. It's far better than the one off treatment poor Darth Maul got.
