This weeks episode with Mon Mothma wasn't as strong but they set the bar pretty damn high the week previously....UNREAL.

The thing with prequels is that you either love them, or hate them. There is no in between. I'm from the group that hates them because I feel like you can't really tell a compelling story when we already know what happens to those characters. In the Han Solo Movie....I'm sure there will be plenty of scenes in which he and Lando are in danger....but as a viewer, you know they aren't going to die, because we have movies which have taken place in later times.
Even like Rogue One....pick out the characters that we know never appear in 4,5,6,or 7....guess what probably happens to them! You already know!

Has anyone on here watched the Plinkett Star Wars Reviews from RedLetterMedia. Mr. Plinkett has reviewed in depth all of the Prequels and even the Episode 7. The reviews are pretty entertaining and pick apart what is wrong with the Prequels

I neither hate NOR love the prequels. they have plenty of moments that are groan inducing but IMO? they have more that are very cool.
I have just watched the Kenobi/Maul episode. It was fantastic IMO. I will watch it several more times.

I saved the Obi-wan/Maul episode on my DVR. Pretty sure it's the first time I've ever kept an episode of Rebels to rewatch. I think that show keeps getting progressively better. The two-parter from over the weekend was great as well. I liked seeing Thrawn rattled a bit. Nobody gets in his head, and it's crazy to kind of see just a little bit of that.

I love the prequels.. Episode 1 came out when I was 10 years old so without the prequels I wouldn't be the Star Wars fan I am today.. George Lucas sat out to introduce Star Wars onto an entire new generation and I'm living proof that it worked.. As an adult though, and as a major film buff I completely understand the flaws they have and think most of the criticism is valid.. But also with fan bias put aside, I think Revenge of the Sith is the 3rd best entry in the entire franchise and a damn fine movie.. Rumors were that George Lucas had Steven Spielberg direct most of it. And say what you want about George Lucas but he was a master at world building.. When watching the prequel trilogy I can feel the depths of the galaxy. I can tell that the Republic reaches into infinity.. Something I didn't feel in The Force Awakens OR in Rogue One. I do think Rogue One is a worthy prequel.. But as more news trickles out about Han Solo? Ehm.. Not so sure.. His real name isn't Han Solo? Yeah you can go yourself on that one, Disney.

Still no teaser for Ep8 and its April tomorrow. safe to say that Carries passing has indeed had an effect on the movies storyline despite what is being said officially.

Yeah, as much as I'm open to this movie...that bothered me. It's like something some dumb ass stoner junior executive said off the cuff in a story meeting. "Hey, I wonder if he's solo because he's a loner?" "Brilliant! Han Solo is a nickname! His real name it actually Eugene Fitzherbert. Oh wait, no...we did that in Tangled. Ah well, we'll come up with something. Promote that guy!"

Defo something going on with Ep8...the first teaser for TFA was released in December 2014....and we had the first actual trailer on April 16th 2015.
We are now within 9 months of its release and not a blip.....I bet Luke was set to check out in this movie and they have had to change it to Leia. OR? Nobody was set to go......but because you just cant have Leia leave without explanation? they have to conclude her story and in that? May have to change things substantially
I genuinely feel Ep8 is going to be sad.

All I know is I'm really excited to see what happens and I can't say I've done that with a Star Wars film in a while.

If this was still a George Lucas owned property then I'd be behind you with your claim but Disney is a well-oiled machine and they're not gonna miss a beat with Episode 8.. Maybe Episode 9, but business as usual for The Last Jedi, I believe.. I think they're definitely waiting for Star Wars Celebration on April 13. I actually made peace with that a couple months ago, kinda figured they'd let Rogue One get out of theaters, and then they'd get Rogue One out on Blu Ray, and THEN gear us up for The Last Jedi. The trailer will indeed drop within the next couple weeks. And that's still 8 months out.

Nowhere did I say my confidence as shaken in them. But to think Carries passing has no effect on Ep8 is strange to me unless Leia did indeed check out in 8. If she didn't? She will have to now. Which will mean altering the movie. They have said that under no circumstances will they digitally mess around with her. So you cant just have her not be in Ep 9...or say she's somewhere else. Star wars Ep8 is the biggest movie event of the year by a LONG distance. Disney would have had a teaser out by now. But as I said above? I'm not one bit worried....I just don't think their claims of "Carries passing wont effect Ep8" are spurious to say the least. For all we know maybe she did check out in 8 but they are including more scenes of her to make it more impactful because of the real life tragedy. Roll on December. 8 was already gonna be a monster....but as we have seen? An actors passing provides mega bumps in in interest. If Paul Walkers passing was able to do what it did for F&F7? Imagine what the passing of pop culture icon Carrie Fisher will do for TLJ? December is gonna be emotional.

R.I.P. As for this - JokerFC, mate, you're on the money as per; the world's biggest entertainment machine with the most engrossing pop culture phenomena joining forces have been nothing short of a license to print money the world over, and I have no doubts whatsoever that this year's TLJ will be far and away the blockbuster of the year...and that's even with Marvel's efforts...! Regarding the incomparable Carrie Fisher though...2016 was a heartbreaking year as we know for many famous people leaving this mortal coil, but hers right at the end and after the circumstances she was in as even more crushing...for me personally, I wonder what she would have thought of the countless girls/women who used her 'slave' attire for cosplay...

Imagine what the passing of pop culture icon Carrie Fisher will do for TLJ? December is gonna be emotional. What I'm trying to say though is that The Last Jedi isn't the only title they have anymore.. This isn't an Episode 7 situation where Star Wars is literally coming back from the dead and it needed to be shouted from the roof tops.. It's hard to compare any Star Wars property moving forward to The Force Awakens' red carpet roll out and once in a life time marketing campaign.. This is the sequel that everyone already knows is coming.. The anticipation and hype, The Last Jedi is going to sell itself. And for sake of argument, Rogue One didn't have a trailer until early April after The Force Awakens came out on Blu Ray.. I think the trailer release has less to do with Carrie Fisher and more to do with squeezing the last bit of money out of Rogue One like they did with TFA. I really don't think there is anything suspicious happening here.. And while Disney will pay respects and have homage to Carrie Fisher I can't see them wanting The Last Jedi to be remembered or clouded by her passing.. I truly believe we won't see Carrie Fisher fall out in regards to the way they market Episode 8. And I honestly don't think we'll see big box office numbers in regards to her passing either ala Paul Walker.. I have more thoughts on this, but I'm trying to just get the conversation going in regards to the topic.. Picked up Rogue One on blu ray today and it's AWESOME!!

I think your wrong on the box office bump Word™ but to each their own man!! I'm very eager to see Rogue One again. It blew me away in the cinema the twice I seen it and I'm eager to see what I will think of it at home. I'm sure I will love it. Vaders portrayal here was incredible. I'm also still in awe at Edwards & Co digging up Forests Whitakers character from The Clone Wars. That was just brilliant....which reminds me I still have to check out The Rebels season 3 finale. Love the Hera was name checked in Rogue One.

Apparently they shot extra footage during Episode 8 filming and have enough to complete her arc.. They got permission from her estate to do it as well. link
