Whoa! I have never seen that Funaki prototype ever before! I was a regular on the forums all that time too, was there ever a Taka prototype? And which set was the Funaki rumoured for? There were also a few line ups which never saw prototypes which got scrapped. I remember hearing a BCA series 10 was planned, and a double slam series 6 (only one I remember from DS6 was Stephanie and Shane). Not sure on a TTL Taka figure, but if they were going to make Funaki, wouldn't Taka have to be in consideration as well? That seems like a given to me. Maybe a Double Slam 2-pack or retail exclusive boxed set was in the works for Kaientai. If not, TTL Funaki could have easily found its way to the Rulers of the Ring series. I don't believe Superstars Series 10 ever got as far as a confirmed lineup. There were rumored sets abound on the Internet in the summer/fall of '99. Obviously, none of those ever came to pass, but I think we got a preview of what was to come with some of the repaints in Signature Series 4 through 6 (mainly, the latter of the three final assortments). KB's Special Edition and Backlash series also did their part in keeping BCA product on the shelves well into the year 2000. |

I'm really surprised that Kaientai didn't get TTL figures. They were featured pretty heavily for awhile. Both would have been way out of scale but still it'd been nice to have them lol. Add them to the list of 2000 era guys who didn't get TTL figures like Essa Rios, Mideon, Viscera, Jackie and The Kat. Honestly everyone in WWF No Mercy should have had a figure. Even the Ho Train lol

One in a skirt with a long jacket and cowboy hat. It could have used the "no panties" Stephanie body. Imo, so many missed opportunities in the TTL series. Plus that 'Back Alley Street Fight' Stephanie was a HUGE loss. I looked for that for ages since it was on the back of the friggin packages! It would have been awesome to have one to sit next to all the other Stephanie figures. We'd have a nice progression of character represented. I'd like to see Mattel make a Flashback using the debut Stephanie look but we are getting plenty of her currently. Was there ever a proto of the Classic Superstars Lita? I remember she was heavily rumored at one point. Honestly I wasn't crazy about it since we have plenty of her. Oh and what about the Mr. America figure? I swear we had seen protos of his internet exclusive. It was supposed to be him, Linda and someone else. It took ages to even see America and then they dropped all three. So sad  will we ever see a Linda? |

Wrestling figures have come such a long way. Right? It seemed like there was literally only two scales! Average height and Big Show lol. Isn't it funny how we barely noticed this as kids? I mean I think the only thing that really bothered me height wise was the ring. I noticed that all the women towered over the ropes as did the guys. But other than that I was fine. Wait does anyone else notice Satan as listed in that 'Bloodlines' set? Lol. Was it legit supposed to be Satan or someone dressed as Satan? |

Ah I thought it was him haha. That magazine clip was a bit confusing.
As a child, I would have been very creeped out by these haha. I was raised on slasher films and zombie flicks but anything demon-ish or exorcist was too much for me lmao.
