So we've come to the end of 1988. It's been a wild year starting with Hulk Hogan as the World Champion and a face. Randy beat the odds and defeated both Dibiase and Andre the Giant the same night at Wrestlemania IV. Ted Dibiase is the current two-time World Heavyweight Champion, thanks to Hulk Hogan betraying the Macho Man and turning heel. Ric Flair made an appearance at SummerSlam and is now going after the World Heavyweight Championship as a face. Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard joined up with Flair in the WWF.
We start off with 1989 with the current Champions are as follows:
Ted Dibiase - World Heavyweight Champion Ric Rude - Intercontinental Champion Powers of Pain - Tag Team Champions Rockin Robin' - Ladies World Champion Jumping Bomb Angels - Women's Tag Team Champions King Hercules with the King's Crown.

Gorilla: Welcome to the WWF Royal Rumble and we've got much excitement here tonight as the crowd is pumped and ready to go. Jesse: You've got the Brainbusters going for the Tag Team titles against Mr. Fuji's Powers of Pain. Gorilla: That's right and of course the Mega Powers will explode here tonight as Randy Savage will be taking on Hulk Hogan and he will be defending the managerial services of the First Lady of Wrestling, Miss Elizabeth. Jesse: You mean former First Lady because that title belongs to Sensational Sherri who is the valet of Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase, the Heavyweight Champion of the World who'll be up against the Nature Boy Ric Flair later tonight. Gorilla: Well here we go Jesse! (Powers of Pain come out) Powers of Pain (w/Mr. Fuji) (c) vs. The Brainbusters for the WWF Tag Team ChampionshipsThe Brainbusters are out next and Arn is in with Barbarian and they go at it. Arn and Tully double team him and Tully is in as Barbarian makes the tag with Warlord. The match continues on as Arn and Tully successfully continue to double team Warlord and Barbarian during the match. Jesse says he's actually impressed with their tag team style. Later in the match, Barbarian goes for a nearfall on Tully, till Tully makes the tag and runs in attacking both Barbarian and Warlord. Arn goes for the spinning spinebuster finisher and tags Tully for the Spike Piledriver double team for the pin and win. Winner: The Brainbusters via pinfall and NEW WWF Tag Team ChampionsThe Brainbusters grab the belts and celebrate in the ring as Gorilla says that they've really proven themselves here tonight while Jesse argues that there's an army of tag teams who'll want to take them on. ______________________________________________ Ted Dibiase (w/Virgil & Sherri) (c) vs. The "Nature Boy" Ric Flair for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship
Ric Flair comes out last as Dibiase is already in the ring. Jesse asks Gorilla that shouldn't the Champion come out last, and Gorilla says that is usually how it goes. Flair is in and they stand toe to toe. They talk trash till Flair shoves Dibiase, Dibiase shoves Flair and they land punches at the same time. Flair is fired up and rakes Dibiase's eyes and whips him to the ropes for a high knee kick and double-arm suplex. Flair goes for a piledriver, but Dibiase drops him. Dibiase lands kicks and elbow smashes. Dibiase tosses Flair to the outside as he argues with the referee, while Virgil and Sherri land punches and kicks on Flair. Flair swipes Dibiase's legs and lands the shin breaker. He hits the ropes for a running jumping knee drop for the legs and Dibiase is hurt. Flair goes for the ropes again but Dibiase drops him over the ropes. Dibiase grabs on to the ref as he tries to get up on his feet properly to distract him as Virgil and Sherri once again land punches and kicks on Flair. Sherri has a chinlock on Flair till the referee notices and warns them. Flair is back in but Dibiase takes advantage of the weakened Flair. Dibiase gets a piledriver in and the nearfall. Dibiase is surprised and decides to go for the Million Dollar Dream and locks it up. The ref doesn't notice as Flair lands a back-kick to the groin as Dibiase let's go and is jumping in pain. Flair struggles and clotheslines Dibiase to the mat. Both men are out of it for count, but Dibiase is up first as he goes after Flair, but Flair lands a reverse atomic drop, drops him for the figure-four leglock. Flair locks it in for a good minute till Dibiase is outcold and the referee calls for the bell. Winner: Ric Flair via submission and NEW WWF World Heavyweight Champion.

Royal Rumble 1989
Part 2 of 2
Hulk Hogan vs. Randy "Macho Man" Savage (w/Elizabeth) in Singles competition for the Managerial Services of Miss ElizabethMiss Elizabeth makes her way out first. Jesse wonders why she didn't walk out with Randy Savage and Gorilla agrees with that. Liz is on the outside to watch the match as her managerial contract is on the line. Randy starts making his way out to a big pop. Randy takes off his robe and awaits Hulk Hogan. Hogan gets in the ring with Peter Gabriel's "The Big Time" theme and has a robe now and acts all cocky point fingers at fans and taunting them. Hogan and Randy are face to face till Randy pushes Hulk, Hulk pushes Randy to a corner and poses. Randy runs to Hogan who counters with a shoulder block to send him out to the floor. Savage returned to the ring and applied a headlock on Hogan and lands punches. Hogan pushes Savage again, but Savage repels with punches. Hogan blocks them and applies a headlock and lands a drop toe hold. It's a front facelock on Savage, which Savage counters into a back suplex. Randy goes for a double axe handle from the top rope on Hogan for the pin to two. Savage lands the armbar on Hogan, as Hogan tosses Savage out of the ring. Elizabeth checks up on him and helps Randy up. Liz looks very worried that Hogan could win this. Hogan gets on the outside and shouts at Randy. Randy moves Liz aside and starts to land punches on Hogan. He tosses him back in the ring and goes to the top rope for another double axe handle only to be met by Hogan's fist into the gut. Hogan smashes Randy to the turnbuckle followed by a running clothesline, three elbow smashes and whips him to the ropes for another clothesline for the pin to two. Hogan gets him up but Savage counters with a chinlock and lands an atomic drop. Savage does a running knee kick to Hogan who is in the corner. He goes to the top for the ten punch, but Hogan knocks Savage to the outside. Savage manages to get back up to the rop ropes but Hogan tosses him to the outside again. Liz tries to help Savage. Hogan gets on the outside and Liz begs Hogan to stop, but Hogan pushes her away to huge heat and attacks Randy. Hogan manages to lift him and smash his back on the ringpost. Liz is in tears as Randy is badly hurt. Hogan tosses Randy back in. Hogan grabs Savage's hair to get back up as Savage counters with punches on Hogan and rakes his eyes. Savage whips Hogan to the ropes and clotheslines Hogan who lands on the mat. Hogan gets up as Savage hits a few chops and smashes Hogan's head to the turnbuckle. Savage hits the ropes and goes for a flying shoulderblock on Hogan, but Hogan quickly counters and drops Savage head first to the mat. Hogan stomps on Savage's head. Hogan rips apart a turnbuckle pad and smashes Savage over it. Liz shouts at Hogan to stop as Hogan laughs. He starts to tell Liz that it'll be over soon and she'll be by his side. Savage is struggling to get up and manages to get a smallpackage on Hogan, but Hogan kicks out at the near fall. Hogan gorilla presses Randy and drops him to the outside. Randy is badly hurt. Liz tells Hogan to stop and that she's had enough. Hogan gets to the outside and beats up on Randy till Liz runs to tell the referee to stop the match. The bell rings. Winner: Hulk Hogan via forfeit. Randy starts fighting back at Hogan as Hogan runs into the ring. Savage is trying to attack Hogan, but Hogan punches his gut hard and lands a piledriver. Hogan hits the ropes and lands a legdrop as Liz is in tears and begs Hogan to stop. Hogan wants to go for another legdrop, but Liz gets on her knees and begs to humiliation with her hands folded. Suddenly Brutus Beefcake runs in with a steel chair and tells Hogan that enough is enough. Hogan is in the corner with his hands out and tells Brutus to drop it. Brutus lets Liz leave to the back as Randy Savage is being helped out by officials. Brutus warns Hogan and Hogan shakes his head and says sorry. Brutus drops the chair as he begins to leave, Hogan quickly grabs a hold of the chair and smashes it over Brutus' head. Hogan spits on him and leaves the ring a happy man. ______________________________________________ Mean Gene with Hulk Hogan: Gene: I can't believe what we just saw this is not the Hulk Hogan I remember, the Hulk Hogan who was beloved by all, a man who I once called a dear friend.... Hogan: What did you expect brother? And now (laughs) and now I got what I wanted I took everything away from the Macho Man, and who does Brutus Beefcake, a loser barber think he is? And Liz, my goodness she made the right choice and called for the bell. Gene: You did this all to have Miss Elizabeth as your manager? Hogan: I did this because I'm sick and tired of everything and everyone and especially the fluke that is Macho Man, so I'm ready now I'm ready for the Royal Rumble Battle Royal man, and I'll come out on top. ______________________________________________ 40 Man Battle Royal (1 and half minute in each) Participants are: Ax, Smash, Andre the Giant, Mr. Perfect, Magnificent Muraco, Greg Valentine, Honkytonk Man, Jake Roberts, Ron Bass, Shawn Michaels, Marty Janetty, Ric Rude, Haku, Tito Santana, Rick Martel, Bad News Brown, Randy Savage, Hulk Hogan, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard, Ric Flair, Ted Dibiase, Warlord, Barbarian, Brutus Beefcake, Terry Taylor, King Hercules, Big Bossman, Akeem, Big John Studd, Harley Race, Ron Garvin, Ricky Steamboat, Bushwhacker Luke, Bushwhacker Butch, Jim Duggan, Davey Boy Smith, Junkyard Dog, Dynamite Kid, and Ultimate Warrior.

However Savage who is having a nervous breakdown and doesn't even know what's going on nearly collapses before entering the ring. WWF Officials help him back and Jesse says the Macho Man is in no condition to enter the bout and that Beefcake will not be in the Battle Royal so his slot will be skipped. The Battle Royal continues and Hulk Hogan is number 29 and Miss Elizabeth shamefully walks out with him in tears in disgrace. Flair comes out at number 30. Hulk Hogan and Flair clean house till they're face to face. Hogan looks at the crowd and laughs. Hogan mocks Flair and gets in his face. Flair starts to land punches and chops. Flair goes after Hogan's legs as Hogan gets to a corner. Hogan uses his strength to lift Flair and drop him over the ropes quikly. Hogan laughs and taunts Flair. Flair suddenly gets back in the ring as the referees try to stop him and starts landing punches and kicks on Hogan. He even manages to clothesline Hogan to the outside. Referees stop the both of them as they talk trash and leave. The final four are the Ultimate Warrior (number 33), Ted Dibiase (number 40), Big John Studd (number 34) and Andre the Giant (number 32). - But why make it 40 men though? I don't get that especially when the Royal Rumble Match is usually 30 superstars and especially back then in the 1980s a Royal Rumble Match with 40 men basically would be inconceivable it would be unheard of and not to mention just really messed up but seeing Big John Studd win the Royal Rumble Match I am at least glad that you kept that part of history which in my opinion should never ever be changed
- But after Hogan eliminated Flair and Flair coming back in to eliminate Hogan basically sets up Flair/Hogan as their rivalry basically is set up now with the seeds being planted here and not to mention "The Dream Match" in my opinion should have happened a whole lot sooner and since it is I mean with Hogan being the heel here and Flair being the babyface it writes itself when you think about it
- Hogan now he has Elizabeth as his manager so now that he has won her services via forfeit and now Elizabeth being his manager it makes me wonder what is going to happen now? I mean Savage he no longer has Miss Elizabeth in his corner as his manager so what happens now? Will Savage be able to get her back?
- But Hogan not only destroying Macho but destroying his other best friend Brutus The Barber Beefcake I mean Hogan his heel turn I mean just when you think it can't get any worse it gets even more worse because now Hogan is probably your most over heel in terms of heel heat because he is the top heel in the company now especially because of what he has already done in the course of 1 night
- Flair being the WWF Champion by beating DiBiase for the title...I mean DiBiase he is entitled to a rematch clause isn't he not? I mean he was the former champion after all since Flair beat him for it but nonetheless their match was probably one of the best title matches that I have seen in recent memory so kudos on that
- The Brainbusters Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard becoming WWF Tag Team Champions beating Powers of Pain I mean now that Flair, Arn and Tully are all champions it begs the question of what happens now as far as the WWF goes? I mean Powers of Pain they do have a rematch for those titles and not to mention Arn & Tully are going to have a lot of superstars after them now especially now that they are packing the gold and a lot of superstars are going to be after Flair especially since he is packing the gold too

Gene: Well later tonight you'll get your chance to get your hands on the Incredible Hulk Hogan. Beefcake: So he's calling himself the Incredible one, they should call him Hogan the Terrible because that's what he is and tonight when we go head to head and you know come to think of it I think it's time for Hogan to get a haircut...(takes out scissors) it'll go well with his receding hair line! Hogan: Hold on just a moment Mean Gene (grabs a hold of Miss Elizabeth who was away from the camera and forces her to come close to the mic) What did I tell you Elizabeth, this is an interview! Gene: Hey you could hurt her! Hogan: And what are you going to do about it brother? What will guys like Ric Flair and the Macho Man do? Gene: Well we are moments away from your match with Brutus Beefcake after you viciously attacked him with a steel chair! Hogan: It was more than he deserved. Gene: I have to ask Miss Elizabeth are you alright? Liz: (has her head down in shame almost in tears) Yes. Hogan: You don't need to talk to her because I did it, I have Miss Elizabeth as my manager. I took away the most precious thing in the world from Randy Savage, I did what not even Ted Dibiase could do, and now she's all mine brother. Gene: And what is your strategy for tonight? Hogan: (laughs) Like I'm going to tell you! Let's go Liz! ________________________________________________________ The "Incredible" Hulk Hogan (w/Elizabeth) vs. Brutus Beefcake in Singles competitionBeefcake is out waiting in the ring. Beefcake whips Hogan to the ropes for a big clothesline, Hogan doesn't fall but Beefcake lands a huge right hand and Hogan finally falls down on the mat and rolls to the outside. Liz is smiling at Hogan's beat down and doesn't help him out, clapping as Beefcake comes out to go after Hogan. However Hogan counters him and smashes his head on the announce table. Hogan goes in and Liz helps out Beefcake. Hogan shouts at Liz and Liz backs off. Beefcake is back in and Hogan attacks him. Hogan goes for a bearhug and Beefcake is shouting in pain till he is out and the ref goes for the three count, but Beefcake has his arm up at two as he breaks the hold and starts to land punches. Beefcake hits the ropes but Hogan clotheslines him. Hogan goes for a scoopslam, but Beefcake manages to reverse it into a pin to two. Hogan gets frustrated as Beefcake lands punches and chops and whips Hogan to the ropes for a reverse atomic drop. Hogan is hurt and Beefcake goes for the sleeper hold finisher. Hogan manages to use the ropes as leverage to drop him to the outside. Once again Liz helps Beefcake as Hogan gets really angry and jumps out. Hogan goes after Beefcake but Liz is in the way pleading with the Hulkster not to do it. Hogan grabs a hold of Liz and the Macho Man Randy Savage runs out with a steel chair and bashes it over Hogan's back. Randy tosses Hogan back in and Beefcake is back in the ring at the same time. Hogan tries to get up as he's hurt and Beefcake goes for the sleeper hold again. Hogan is almost out of it but he rams Beefcake to the corner and lands back elbows and punches. Hogan whips Beefcake to the ropes for a big boot and the legdrop for the pin and win. Winner: Hulk Hogan via pinfallRandy Savage who was talking to Elizabeth as they embrace, Randy gets in the ring with the chair as Hogan starts to plea and Randy takes a swing, but Hogan ducks and rolls out to leave. Randy leaves with Liz to the back. ________________________________________________________ Rockin' Robin (c) def. Judy Martin via pinfall to retain the WWF Ladies World Championship________________________________________________________ WWF Heavyweight Champion the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair comes out to the ring as fans are on their feet. Mean Gene and Jack Tunney are in the ring. Flair says he's excited to be champion and wants to introduce his new manager, J.J Dillon. Note: J.J Dillon who was the original Four Horsemen manager, did in fact join the WWF in February of 1989 as a front office exec till 1997. In this timeline he joined earlier and will work as a manager for the Brainbusters and Flair.
Dillon is out and talks about the state of wrestling till Ted Dibiase comes out with Virgil and Sherri. Dibiase: You can shut your mouth I know everything about you and I can't believe this Jack Tunney that you would welcome this bafoon into the WWF. Tunney: Now Mr. Dibiase we would like to go with the contract negotiations for the Main Event on February 3rd live on NBC. Dibiase: No no no...I'll have that world title soon enough, but I'm out here for two reasons. One is I want you to realize Mr. Tunney that these guys are trying to take over the WWF, and two I won't be wrestling at the Main Event. Tunney: Now now you're the one who requested a rematch. Dibiase: I want someone who I've worked with before get his shot, someone who I have paid handsomely to destroy Ric Flair and end his miserable career once and for all because nothing will make me more happy than to see these invaders try to take over our spotlight and I've got a lot of guys in the back who agree with me... Flair: (laughs) You could say what you wan't but you're afraid, very afraid of stepping in the ring with me again. Dibiase: I'm not done talking to the President, and now that the Brainbusters and Ric Flair are champions, and you have this bufoon of a manager out here can't you see what's happening here Mr. Tunney? Tunney: Who do you have in mind? (Suddenly Andre the Giant with Heenan walk out) Dibiase: I don't even think Ric Flair will accept the challenge. Flair: I'll take on anyone, anywhere, just name it. Dibiase: It'll be Andre the Giant (laughs)! Andre is in the ring and gets behind Flair to choke him out. Dillon struggles as Heenan shoves him out of the ring. Later the Brainbusters run in to help as Andre let's go holds the title up high and throws it into the ring and leaves. ________________________________________________________ The Twin Towers (w/Slick) def. Heenan runs away in disgrace. _________________________________________________________ Mean Gene with Randy Savage: Gene: What a wild turn of events, Ric Flair picks up the win and Andre the Giant turns on Bobby Heenan and Ted Dibiase...but now at this time is what could arguably one of the biggest grude matches in history in a fifteen feet high steel cage, Randy Savage is up against the man who took away his manager Miss Elizabeth, the Incredible Hulk Hogan. Savage: (gets really angry) Don't you say...don't you say ya don't you say his name ya I don't like it! Gene: Alright. Savage: Ya ya I'll say it myself ya Hulk Hogan ya Hulk Hogan ya Hulk Hogan! You hurt Elizabeth ya you hurt her mind, her heart, her body, her soul you hurt me you hurt her you hurt Elizabeth! You don't own her ya you don't and when I'm done with you ya I'll....(pauses)...(calms down) man my head's a bit shaky ya maybe the pressure's rising ya I want that Steel Cage up and ready I want him now! (leaves) Gene: Back to you Jesse.... Jesse and Vince are at the announce table as the cage is being readied, talking about the Hulk-Macho feud and they show highlights of the Mega Powers uniting and imploding. Mean Gene with Hulk Hogan: Gene: I'm here now with the Incredible Hulk Hogan who is getting ready for his match...now where is Miss Elizabeth? Hogan: O she'll be out with me she has too, don't you worry about her. Gene: Now come on Hulkster, don't you think you've taken this all too far with Miss Elizabeth, she clearly wants to be with Randy Savage! Hogan: What? She belongs to me! I own her got it! And tonight Randy Savage is going to turn into the Nacho Man, as he'll be selling Nachos at the stands everywhere Liz and I go. And if things don't go my way, well let's say I got a plan B. Soon Liz is going to get it, she'll understand what I mean to her, that I want to protect her and I will be her man. Gene: What are you kidding me? Hogan: That's right brother, the Hulksters going to have a mistress soon enough (laughs and leaves) Gene: O give me a break (shakes his head) Hulk Hogan is a lost soul, back to you Jesse. _________________________________________________________ The "Incredible" Hulk Hogan (w/Elizabeth) vs. Randy "Macho Man" Savage in a Steel Cage MatchRandy Savage climbs the cage, watching the crowd at the top. Hogan makes his way out with Elizabeth. Randy looks upset almost in tears, shaking his head. Hogan gets close enough to the cage and kisses Elizabeth! Randy does something crazy and LEAPS from the top of the cage only for Hogan to land a punch as Randy falls. Hogan laughs like a mad man and gets in the ring as Elizabeth checks up on Randy and WWF Officials run out. Randy tries to get back up and he's badly hurt. Liz tells him to forget about the match but he refuses as he grabs a hold of the cage. Hogan runs back outside and grabs a hold of Savage and smashes his head to the cage. Hogan drags him into the ring and the cage door closes and the bell rings. Hogan taunts the fans with his ear gesture, posing for those who give the most heat. Randy is struggling to get back up as he limps up. Hogan lands a punch and Savage is down. Hogan laughs it out as Liz is upset. Hogan lifts Savage but Savage starts to land punches and whips Hogan to the ropes for a back elbow as both men fall. Hogan is up first as Savage spears Hogan and starts to beat up on him on the mat. Savage is really angry but Hogan gets a front-face chinlock in and starts working on it till Savage is completely out. Hogan starts a slow climb laughing his way up and taunting the fans. Savage struggles to get back up and jumps at Hogan's legs as Hogan falls from the top! Savage is in control, he works on Hogan's legs and back. Savage gets to the top rope and lands a double axe handle but he sells his injury well as both men are out of it. Hogan is up first and scoopslams Savage. Hogan hits the ropes and lands a legdrop. Hogan makes the climb as Savage finally makes it on his feet and climbs to go after him. Savage drops him as Hogan falls. Savage lands on the top rope and goes for the elbow drop finisher and lands it. Savage as the momentum till suddenly Bad News Brown shows up from the back. Vince says what is he doing here? Brown climbs the cage and gets in as Savage tries to climb the cage on the other side and not noticing. Brown drops Savage and starts to beat up on him badly giving Hogan enough time to crawl out of the ring. Winner: Hulk Hogan via cage door.Brown continues his beating of Savage till WWF Officials run in to get him to stop. Elizabeth is in the ring with a bloodied Savage. Vince says that this must be Hogan's plan B, or as Jesse says plan Brown. _________________________________________________________ Hogan is in the back as the cameras are following him and Mean Gene tries to get some answers. Gene: What in the world was that Hulkster? Hogan: I'm getting out of here can't you see? Gene: Is this how it's going to be like from now on with you? Hogan: Whatever. Gene: I apologize folks for what has transpired here tonight wait there is Bad News Brown...Mr. Brown! Brown: Finally someone wants to talk to me, a black man who nobody gives a damn. Gene: What are you talking about? Brown: That's right, the Incredible One told me if things got rough I'd help him and I did because I wanted to send a message to President Jack Tunney. I was promised championships man, I was promised world caliber matches and what did I get? You got these neanderthals from another professional wrestling world coming in to the WWF and taking over and you can't see it. Gene: But why did you attack Randy Savage, you cut him open! Brown: Why not? I'm from Harlem, I'm from the streets and this ain't nothing he's never had a proper beating in his life. I've had it rough growing up, I've been beaten and scarred and at times I had to live among sewer rats, ya you heard me. Gene: But why! Why now? Brown: Because I just need to do it. Macho Man was Jack Tunney's golden boy, and now he's nothing. He's a nobody, got no girl, got no championships, got nothing and what he gets the main event spot here tonight? Give me a break (leaves) Gene: Come on please! Wait folks I think Randy Savage and Miss Elizabeth are in the medical room as we speak let's see if we can take a peak... Randy is being held down by a doctor and a few WWF Officials and suddenly he bursts out and knocks them all down. Randy goes on a rampage as Liz tries to stop him but he says to leave him alone and pushes her as she falls down. Randy runs across the hallways as the camera tries to follow him as he shouts for Brown and Hogan. Randy starts punching out faces and heals in the back and getting into a fight with the Hart Foundation as they try to stop him. Savage starts to break things as blood continues to down his face and he continues to shout Brown and Hogan till Brutus Beefcake tries to calm him down and Randy pushes him aside and collapses in tears about Liz and how he lost her and even hurt her, Beefcake holds unto him as it gets crowded in the back. Jesse: Randy Savage has really gone mad McMahon. But I have to admit he's the toughest guy I've ever seen. Vince: And I think anyone would understand and we apologize to all the viewers at home for this...and thank you for watching.

WWF Prime Time Wrestling February 13th, 1989 Hosts: Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby "the Brain" HeenanBrother Love Show with WWF President Jack Tunney: Love: Welcome to my show it's an honor Mr. President Tunney: Well first of all I want to tell everyone out here about Wrestlemania V. Love: O my I can't wait for Wrestlemania. Tunney: That's right Wrestlemania V will be one of the biggest wrestling extravagenzas of all time and will take place in Atlantic City at Trump Plaza on April 2nd. Love: Do tell us more! Tunney: Since the "Nature Boy" Ric Flair is the current WWF Champion, and after careful consideration about who the number one contender is, I would like to bring the Incredible Hulk Hogan out here tonight so that I may give him the opportunity first hand to challenge for the World title. Instead of Hogan, Bad News Brown comes out. Brown: I thought I made the message loud and clear at the Main Event Tunney: Hey now you had no business interfering in the Steel Cage match and you have no business being out here. Brown: (laughs) So I'm just another black man whose being blackballed by a good for nothing President. I was promised titles, I was promised high caliber matches, I was made so many promises but instead you give it to a guy whose already held that World title twice? Tunney: You are not the number one contender and I thought he was your friend? Brown: I got no friends because I don't need them. I'm a black man trying to make it in this white world called the WWF. And what's worse is you keep favoring the Ric Flairs and what not, bringing these fools into the WWF who are clearly trying to take over....they don't belong. You shouldn't be President. Tunney: I've had enough of this, I'm out here to talk about Wrestlemania. Brown: No you talk to me! Tunney: Fine what do you want? Love: Now now Mr. Brown we should be spreading some love not hate.... Brown: What are you talking about boy? You know what I'm sick and tired of you all I want my title shot because I want to beat up that good for nothing Nature Boy. Tunney: No you do not deserve a title shot for that matter I should be fining you for violating... Brown: (Bad News grabs a hold of Tunney) What did you say? What did you say? Tunney: Let go of me! Bad News knocks out Tunney right across the kisser as he lays on the floor. Matches: The Rockers def. jobbers via pinfall

Wrestlemania V is on the horizon and it looks like we are getting Flair/Hogan for the WWF Championship but also JJ Dill on now that he is in the WWF I mean it seems The Horsemen are pretty much in the WWF I mean we have Flair, Arn, Tully and now their manager JJ Dillon here so it makes me wonder if a 4th man will join their group?

WWF Prime Time Wrestling February 27th, 1989 Hosts: Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby "the Brain" Heenan Gorilla: Folks the Wrestlemania V contract signing between World Champion Ric Flair and the Incredible Hulk Hogan will be taking place on March 11th during Saturday Night's Main Event. Heenan: Speaking of Wrestlemania V I got to say I'm impressed with the lineup so far. Wrestlemania V Current Update:
The Brainbusters (w/J.J Dillon) (c) vs. The Hart Foundation (w/Jimmy Hart) for the WWF Tag Team Championships
Strike Force vs. The Twin Towers (w/Slick) in a Tag team match
Ric Rude (w/Heenan) (c) vs. Jake "the Snake" Roberts (w/Cheryl Roberts) in a Snake Pit match for the WWF Intercontinental Championship
Rockin' Robin (c) vs. Sensational Sherri (w/Ted Dibiase) for the WWF Ladies World Championship
King Hercules (w/Heenan) vs. Ricky "the Dragon" Steamboat for the King's Crown
The "Nature Boy" Ric Flair (w/J.J Dillon) (c) vs. The "Incredible" Hulk Hogan (w/Elizabeth) for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship
________________________________________________________ Gorilla: And more matches to come of course Randy Savage wants to get his hands on Bad News Brown, so we'll have to wait for an answer from Jack Tunney who wants to actually suspend Bad News Brown indefinitely. And as for youi Heenan, it looks like your both Ric Rude and King Hercules have titles on the line. Heenan: What the heck is a Snake Pit match, I never agreed to this? Gorilla: Well your man Ric Rude has. It's a No DQ match, but the difference this time is that there is actually going to be a pit of Snakes. Heenan: What!!! Gorilla: Don't look at me Rude signed the contract! Heenan: What in the world is going on! I can't take such insubordination! I didn't even...you know what I'll have a talk with Rude, but until then I'm more concerned about Andre the Giant as Ted Dibiase hasn't spoken to me about what he wants to do. I know he's challenging him for Wrestlemania V. Gorilla: Well we'll just have to wait and see!

So I wonder if The Million Dollar Man since he has aligned himself with Bobby The Brain Heenan is DiBiase a member of The Heenan Family?
Seeing Rick Rude and Bobby I wonder if this leads to a Rude babyface turn because of the Snake Pit Match with Jake the Snake because of the insubordination on Rude's part accepting the match?
Savage/Brown will obviously happen at WrestleMania V

WWF Prime Time Wrestling March 6th, 1989 Hosts: Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby "the Brain" Heenan
Official Statement from WWF President Jack Tunney I have heard the appeal from Randy "Macho Man" Savage and a petition by fans around the world about reinstating Bad News Brown to the WWF. In the WWF we have a zero tolerance for such behaviour, and I was kind enough to suspend Bad News Brown for his assault on me and for his actions at The Main Event and wish to make it an indefinite suspension. However after careful consideration and discussions with WWF Officials, I will grant Mr. Brown a reinstatement for Wrestlemania V. This means that at Wrestlemania V:Randy "Macho Man" Savage vs. Bad News Brown in a Harlem Street FightThis match will be a first of its kind, a match with Harlem Street rules and we'll have more details about it in the coming weeks. Thank you. _________________________________________ The Incredible Hulk Hogan promo: So it settles it, at Saturday Night's Main Event on March 11th, it'll go down in history as a day of infamy for the Ric Flairs and his goons brother. Because when I sign that World Championship contract, I will not only win the World title back, I will make sure that Ric Flair will never again return to the WWF! So whacha gonna do when the 24 inch pythons and the Incredible One runs wild on you!__________________________________________ Ric Flair promo: Wooo! Well well well so we have a Number one contender, and his name is Hulk Hogan. Man I've never though it was possible that we would ever meet in the ring, but it's finally happening. The two biggest names in professional wrestling to go head-to-head at Wrestlemania V, it doesn't get any better than this. __________________________________________ Gorilla: Well did you talk to Rick Rude? Heenan: Yes and all is good trust me there is nothing happening with him and I'll find a way to get him out of the Snake Pit stipulation. Gorilla: And what about Andre the Giant, will Ted Dibiase challenge him at Wrestlemania V? Heenan: The Million Dollar Man has promised me that he'll make it known at Saturday Night's Main Event.

Saturday Night's Main Event March 11th, 1989 Hersheypark Arena, Pennsylvania Hosts: Vince McMahon and Jesse "the Body" Ventura Rick Rude (w/Heenan) (c) def. Brutus Beefcake via pinfall to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship. At the end of the match Rude starts beating up on Beefcake even though he has Cheryl Roberts' tights on, Jake Roberts runs in with Damien and knocks down Rude. He drapes Damien over Rude as Heenan runs away. _________________________________________________ World Championship Contract Signing Instead of in the ring it's in a boardroom. Officials are arguing as Flair and Hogan are across from each other. Miss Elizabeth is standing behind the Hulkster and J.J Dillon is sitting beside Flair with President Tunney at the head of the table and Mean Gene is with a mic with him. Hogan: My shoulders ah, will you Liz? (Liz in shame starts to massage Hogan's shoulders) Ah that feels good the Macho Man must really miss you (laughs) Ric: What the? (everyone is quite) You know you make me sick you know? Doing that to someone as innocent as Elizabeth, who I might add was the First Lady of Wrestling. Hogan: Why don't you just shut your mouth and sign the damn contract so I could go home. Gene: Gentlemen please, I want to begin by saying that we are hear tonight for a special occasion, the signing of two of the biggest names in the world of professional wrestling, here the challenger the Incredible Hulk Hogan, who is a former two-time World Heavyweight Champion with his manager the lovely Elizabeth, and of course the current WWF World Heavyweight Champion, the Nature Boy Ric Flair with his manager J.J Dillon. Tunney: Alright gentlemen I have the contract here...now wait a minute I don't recall these pages (WWF Officials are taking a look at it) Gene: Well it looks like the Incredible Hulk Hogan's lawyers have introduced a new stipulation here which suggests that if Ric Flair loses the match, he along with J.J Dillon and the Brainbusters must all leave the World Wrestling Federation. Dillon: Let me see that contract (takes a look at it) we're not signing this (Dillon and Ric whisper to each other) Hogan: What you're afraid that your little invasion of the WWF is about to end, come on brother so what is this the so-called legendary Ric Flair is just another nobody. Ric: I'd sign it but the way I see it is that Hulk Hogan has nothing to lose in this match. He could win and get what he wants but if he loses...well it's just another title match for him. Hogan: You don't get to come here and negotiate with me! Ric: I'm not signing this (Ric and Dillon get up) Gene: Gentlemen please please we understand.... Hogan: (gets up) What are you yellow? Dillion: We want these new pages out of the contract. Tunney: Mr. Hulk Hogan I believe that they're right, as President of the WWF I'm not going to include this stipulation. Ric: How about this, if I win, you leave the WWF and if I lose, well I lose the World title and there will be no rematch clause? Hogan: No deal, I want you out of the WWF. Ric: It ain't happening. Hogan: (turns the whole boardroom table over and grabs a hold of Elizabeth) I'll hurt her man, I'll do it. Ric: What the heck? She's your manager man! Hogan: Sign it! Sign the damn contract or Miss Elizabeth is going to get it. Ric: (looks concerned) I'll sign it I'll sign it (signs it) Hogan: (laughs) You just signed your death sentence (grabs the contract and signs it using Liz's back) you're going to regret this brother. Vince: (on commentary) I can't believe this! Jesse: I feel like getting back in the ring again and beating up Hulk Hogan I want to do this, Vince McMahon I want your support sign me up for one more match. Vince: It would be my pleasure! Wrestlemania V Main Event Update: The "Nature Boy" Ric Flair (w/J.J Dillon) (c) vs. Hulk Hogan (w/Elizabeth) for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. If Ric Flair loses, Flair, Dillon and the Brainbusters must leave the WWF. _________________________________________________ The Hart Foundation (w/Jimmy Hart) def. The Rockers via pinfall. The match was a challenge by the Rockers for the number one contender spot for the WWF Tag Team Championship match at Wrestlemania V. Terry Taylor & Don Muraco (w/Heenan) def. Strike Force via pinfall. Rick Martel argues with Tito Santana while Santana tries to calm him down. Martel leaves in anger. Ricky "the Dragon" Steamboat def. Haku (w/Heenan) via pinfall. At the end of the match, King Hercules runs down the aisle and starts to beat up on him, but Ricky manages to toss him to the outside and embarass him. _________________________________________________ Ted Dibiase comes into the ring with Virgil and Sherri. Dibiase: First of all I want to congratulate Hulk Hogan on getting Ric Flair to sign the contract. I can't wait to see these invaders leave the WWF. Secondly, I'm going to make sure that Sensational Sherri get's her Ladies World title back. Until then there is another man that I would like to see retire at Wrestlemania V. How dare he attack the true richest man in professional wrestling he makes me sick! I'm talking about Andre the Giant and I want to call him out!
Andre walks out to the ring and gets in.Dibiase: So Mr. Andre I want to ask you, do you want a match for Wrestlemania V? Andre: Ha if you think I'm scared of you (suddenly Big John Studd walks out to the ring), you're a puny millionaire that I can easily squash. Vince: (on commentary) What in the world is the Royal Rumble winner Big John Studd doing out here? Studd attacks Andre from behind and easily knocks him down. Dibiase: (laughs) I got another giant and like always everyone's got a price for the Million Dollar Man! Big John Studd I want you to attack him I want you to weaken him and destroy him! Suddenly bagpipes are being played and it's ROWDY RODDY PIPER! The fans go absolutely crazy as Piper runs in and punches out Dibiase and Studd as Virgil tries to stop him, Piper rakes his eyes and he falls out. Sherri runs away as Piper helps out Andre and they both stand together as Dibiase and Studd talk trash to end the show.

Flair the WWF Champion he has a lot to lose in this match if he loses the WWF Championship then that means Flair, Dillon, Arn and Tully are all gone if Flair loses but what if Flair wins and retains the title? It could happen but then think about this if Flair loses what if Arn and Tully retain their titles? Then that means the WWF Tag Team Championships would be gone because Arn and Tully would leave the company with the titles but at the same time for Flair and his boys they have a lot riding on this
I can see a Tag Team Match happening with Piper and Andre teaming up to face DiBiase and Studd at WrestleMania V

WWF Prime Time Wrestling March 13th, 1989 Hosts: Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby "the Brain" HeenanGorilla: Shortly after SNME went off the air, President Jack Tunney had this to say regarding the WWF Heavywight Championship contract signing and more: Jack Tunney Statement: On March 11th, during Saturday Night's Main Event, a contract signing took place between World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair and the Incredible Hulk Hogan for the main event match at Wrestlemania V. During the proceedings we found that new pages with a stipulation requiring Ric Flair, the Brainbusters and J.J Dillon to leave the World Wrestling Federation if Ric Flair lost the match. Although the contract is signed by both parties, it must be understood that when new pages are released within a contract the President of the WWF must sign the doted lines to approve such pages.
I have done no such thing. These pages were not passed unto me by Mr. Hogan's lawyers in time and despite it being signed, I will not sign them myself. On the other hand to stipulate that other WWF Superstars such as Arn Anderson and Tully Blanchard would have to leave the WWF if Ric Flair lost, is unheard of and would've required their signatures. To eliminate further confusion, the match between Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan will happen as originally planned. On the other hand I have taken an executive order over the contract as is my right as WWF President, with my own stipulation, meaning that the match will be as follows:The "Nature Boy" Ric Flair (w/J.J Dillon) (c) vs. The "Incredible" Hulk Hogan (w/Elizabeth) for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship in a No DQ and No Countout Match. The nature of this match is to ensure that there must be a winner between the two biggest names in professional wrestling. Thank you._______________________________________ Gorilla: There you have it folks! Heenan: Are you kidding me! Ric Flair agreed to it this is a travesty! If I was the manager of the Incredible One I would've made sure Jack Tunney would go for it but instead he decides on wanting to keep Elizabeth around. Gorilla: Would you honestly want to be the manager of Hulk Hogan? Heenan: Not really, but if it was to get rid of these guys yes I would do anything. I gotta talk to Dibiase about this, I got to talk to Jack Tunney because this is ridiculous. Gorilla: Well folks Wrestlemania V is shaping up to be a big one and Brain, what is just happening to the Heenan family, Muraco and Race fought each other as we saw on Superstars, and now they want to face each other in a retirement match. You lost Andre, Studd is now with Dibiase....what is going on? Heenan: I've given up on Muraco and Harley Race, I'm done with them, the both of them. I've had it up to here with these bafoons. Gorilla: So you won't be in anyone's corner? Heenan: Just those loyal to me. _______________________________________ Wrestlemania V Card Update: Hacksaw Jim Duggan vs. Haku (w/Heenan) in Singles competition

WWF Prime Time Wrestling March 20th, 1989 Hosts: Gorilla Monsoon and Bobby "the Brain" Heenan Hulk Hogan promo:
So Jack Tunney wants to play politics, Jack Tunney wants to play with the big time, well let me tell you something President Jack Tunney, sooner or later you're going to lose your seat. I'll get my lawyers to make you rethink about what you did brother, but I also know a millionaire who'll sue you big time for what you did with the World Championship contract. Ric Flair signed it and he deserves to lose brother. As for you Ric Flair, now I know your weakness as it always has been is with your high-life style and high-ridin it's women brother and maybe just maybe I'll make things worse for the Luscious Elizabeth (laughs)
Randy Savage responds to Hogan about Elizabeth promo: Ooo ya I heard those words from your mouth Hulk Hogan ya I saw what you did to Elizabeth! Don't you dare threaten her ya...but don't you worry ya it's a No DQ Match for you with the Nature Boy mmmm...that sounds delicious ya good because after I'm done with Bad News Brown ya I'm going to run out to kick your (bleep) and save Elizabeth! Ric Flair response to Hogan promo:
Wooo! You Hulk Hogan ain't gonna get rid of us that easily! It's gonna take a whole lot more than money, lawyers and contracts to take us out of the WWF! We belong here like everyone else, and the Nature Boy the high-stylin', profilin', limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin' n' dealin' son of a gun is going to pin you for the 1-2-3! Wooo!
Gorilla: Folks next week Rowdy Roddy Piper is making a return for Piper's Pit! It's back! I can't wait for it and he's got a lot to say about the state of the WWF and I just can't wait. Heenan: Piper should just go back to hollywood, he's doing well there and that's good for him. He's an actor now, he chose his profession. Gorilla: O now what you want Piper out too? Heenan: What I want is Andre the Giant to come back to his senses. Gorilla: What you miss him now?
