Well with sling tv if you preorder 3 months worth you get a free roku......but I recently did a free trial of PlayStation vue and it was pretty good. We don't have cable either anymore due to increasing prices for stuff we don't even watch. Does Vue have on demand content or is it just live TV?

Sling is acceptable if you have the correct device.

Sling is acceptable if you have the correct device. What would be the correct device? A cheap Roku device or one of the sticks.

I had for about 3 weeks now and I'm glad I got rid of cable You just add a tv show as your favorite and it DVR's. You can watch it anytime for up to 28 days. It also has catch-up if you want to see a show that has finish.

I'll take that over cable.

I am currently paying $235 a month on cable and internet. It is pretty much out of control. But I like having it while I sleep. I also have Netflix and WWE network.

Try PlayStation Vue man. Way cheaper Compared to the same Cable/Internet combo I have from Comcast, Vue would actually run me more cash. For the high end package of Vue (which is comparable to my cable now at $120) it would cost 64.99. To keep the same internet speed I have without cable would cost me $81.23 so combined for Vue and Internet service it would cost $146.22 and currently only $120.32. So, for the moment it's advantageous for me to stick with comcast.

I havent had cable in over 2 years ... don't miss it whatsoever.
The only thing that I pay for are the internet and the WWE Network. I want to watch a game or anything like that, my parents always have it on because they're retired lol.
I dont care about cable, but WHEN I do get it, it'll probably be something like the Firestick and hack it, because cable is a complete and utter rip off.

For those of you who cut the cord, how much did your internet bill go up when you got rid of cable?

For those of you who cut the cord, how much did your internet bill go up when you got rid of cable? I'm paying $54 for just TWC Internet. 200/20 speeds. I'm getting a free upgrade so I'm not sure how I will pay after that. I was paying $180 for their bundle so now I only pay internet and PlayStation vue for $90.

I went with PS Vue. 30 bucks for 55 channels is a good deal IMO, except for no El Rey, but my parents got Sling in the living room Roku so i watch Lucha Underground there. I recently added Showtime because theres a show on there i wanted to see. Not gonna keep it as soon as the show ends. With your options, it depends on what device you would watch on and how much you're willing to spend on certain things. I'm currently looking for better internet cause between being upstairs and having two other Rokus on at the same time, my internet is pretty slow

I want to add my input to this too. I tried a trial of Sling on a Roku 2 and it worked fine, however, there were two channels my Wife watches CBS & TLC. These are not available on Sling, but you can get the CBS app at $6/10 a month & the TLC app requires a cable provider to log in. Sling does have more channels that I'm interested in such as Viceland & El Rey. Since Sling didn't offer the two channels my Wife watches, I kinda gave up about three days into the trial. If I didn't need those two channels to watch live TV, then I'd go with Sling. I'm currently trying a Vue trial on a PS4 and it seems like this is winning me over and I'll be ditching DirecTV in the coming weeks. Vue (in my area) does offer all the channels we want. At the tier we're looking at it doesn't offer NatGeo Wild which would be nice, but we can live without it. I'll have to watch Dr. Pol some other way. The Vue has a nice interface that works awesome with the PS4 & Media Remote. I do want to put out there for people looking at Vue, make sure you're looking at your area. The browser on my phone defaulted me to the Rochester, NY area which was cheaper but did not offer CBS*, and the other basic channels like NBC were On Demand only*. (*Double check though) When I put it to the NYC area, it jumped up to $10 a month but gave me better channels including live which is what I'm after. I can get the lowest plan on Vue for $40 a month vs. $86 with DirecTV. Even if I got the highest plan on Vue, I think I'd still be saving $20-25 a month. I watched Smackdown live on the Vue and the quality was exactly the same as DirecTV. The way the channels behaved with commercials there was literally no difference visually. However, I think it might be about 30 seconds behind to traditional live TV because my friend was texting me during it and as he was texting me the thing he texted me about either was happening to just happened. Update - 10/27/16: I'm going to be switching over to PlayStation Vue in the very near future. I found it to be pretty excellent and worked great. I don't have a great internet service either, but I couldn't tell, I saw no lags or drops. And this is coming from someone who was with DirecTV for almost 10 years. I'm happy to cut that cord because I'll be saving about $50 a month and getting the same selection based upon I only watched the same few channels. The only thing I have to work out is to get the official "PlayStation 4 Universal Media Remote" to interact with my TV and to have it stop turning off due to the Bluetooth time out. Update 2 - 11/9/16:Sony announced yesterday that on November 11th they will be removing channels from Viacom. This means channels such as Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Spike, etc. are leaving. The good thing about Vue is that you can cancel at any time like I just have. blog.us.playstation.com/2016/11/08/new-channels-additional-lineup-change-coming-to-playstation-vue/
