Is it rude? Yes.
Is it creepy and stalking? No. I like how wrestlers like Rollins act like anyone who does it is creepy and stalking, having to do all kinds of research to figure out where they will be. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to know theyll be leaving the day after a Raw or SD at usually the states main airport on the first flight out.
I have a friend that works at my local airport who is a fan as well, and always sees them arrive and leave. He likes to do the aiport thing.
Ive never been big on it but he talked me into it one time. A few were pretty cool to everyone. It was easy to tell who was off limits. But Ive seen kids waiting there, and Ive seen people who live near the airport who couldnt even afford to go to a show, wait just for a glimpse of some of their heroes.
There are a ton of ass holes out there who ebay it out. They are what spoils it for everyone. But for wrestlers to group basically anyone wanting an autograph in a public place as a stalker is just showing that they have a huge ego.

Its really a lose-lose situation. You dont want to bug someone on "their time" while they're at an airport or hotel but then again most wrestlers dont have autograph sessions any more so you'll never get that chance. A fan has to know the boundaries and limits but a wrestler also has to understand he/she is a celebrity. Whether you're the wrestler or the fan, without one, the other does not exist.
If I was a wrestler/celebrity I would sign everything coming and going. Not because Im a "nice guy" but it waters down the market for my autograph. Just look at a guy like Pete Rose. Great baseball player but since his banning/retirement he's signed everything you can imagine. You can buy an autographed Pete Rose jersey for like $60....the jersey alone cost that lol

it's not wrong Punk and Sasha refuse kids they don't owe the kid a damn thing Ah yes they do. Kids are the main fanbase who buy the action figures, merchandise, tickets etc. It it wasn't for the WWE fans wrestlers wouldn't be earning their huge weakly wage. Sorry to say but the airport stalkers and all those screaming kids are part of the package when you become a WWE Superstar. I saw a video of Dean Ambrose signing autographs in the pouring rain outside an arena and he didn't have to do that but he did because he knows that those fans keep him ticking. I change tires for a living. If I put tires on someone's car and next week they get a flat is it ok for them to approach me while I'm not working to fix it for them? I'd tel them to buzz off because I'm not on the clock and I don't owe them anything even though their hard earned money is what pays my bills. But they are more than welcome to come back to my place of work and have their tires fixed while the shop is open. You want an autograph or picture you go to an event a signing or a meet and greet. You don't stalk them at hotels or airports while they aren't working. That's wrong and I don't care how much they get paid they are still human...

it's not wrong Punk and Sasha refuse kids they don't owe the kid a damn thing Rightly said. It makes me laugh how people think wrestlers owe fans stuff when infact the don't, they're just doing their job. Does the person who made my burger in McDonalds owe me because I paid for it? Hell no lol. The guy at McDonalds is not being paid a percentage of the burgers he is flipping. No matter how many burgers served that day....he will be paid the same amount. Thats what many of you fail to understand. When a fan buys a tshirt, action figure, etc of a specific wrestler, they are receiving DIRECT money in hand for that. They ABSOLUTELY owe it to the fan. Now what IT is....thats a matter of debate. But the fact is something of some sort is owed to the fan. Buying a ticket and watching them perform has nothing to do with this. A ticket and wrestling is a completely different a tale and is irrelevant to the commissions earned on merchandising. Sorry to say but the airport stalkers and all those screaming kids are part of the package when you become a WWE Superstar. Did you honestly just say that it's ok to be stalked because you're a celebrity? "Stalking" is a term used in order to force a negative view. Stalking is harassing another in an aggressive, often threatening and illegal manner. I offer no aggression. I offer no threat. And nothing I am doing is illegal. AP and hotels are public places. Showing up at a wrestler's home...ok, I'm with you. That is NOT a public place. Some people may not like it those who collect or the methods and you have every right to your opinion. But calling it stalking is just trying to make it into something it is not. Also, its without a doubt....VERY EFFECTIVE. Having fans being over zealous is the price of fame. Ask names like Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt. Ask someone like Johnny Depp, who will shut down NYC streets by way of the NYPD in order to spend an hour outside signing for a 1000 people. Depp is making these arrangements. Because he knows he is in a public place and that this type of information WILL get out and fans WILL show up. Dont want the over zealous fans....find a new line of work. I've told the story before. In 91, after a house show where they were fighting each other, I saw Warlord and Davey Boy eating at a Denny's. My dad told me to get their autograph. I went up to them, Bulldog didn't look up, and Warlord very gruffly said ' not while we're eating!' We finished eating and hung around for a while after. Finally my dad said we had to go. He told me to go up to them again, even tho they weren't done. They quickly signed and we left. I dunno if they were pissed cuz we caught them breaking kayfabe, or if they were just jerks, or just in a a bad mood at the time. But I'll always remember that the 2 of them were sitting next to each other at the end of a long banquet table. The table was loaded with plates of food, like 10 plates of food. And they were the only ones sitting there eating. You dont go up to them while they are eating. Its rude. I understand you were leaving, but you still dont bother them when they are trying to eat.

I'm in agreement with Seth on this. I think it's downright crazy that fans seek out when their flights are coming in and what not. If I was to bump into someone just put of random and I didn't go out seeking them I would hope to be able to just say hey to them and give a handshake or something. If they don't want to take a picture or sign I wouldn't feel offended. Just an acknowledgement or a hello back would be good enough for me

I'm paid a weekly bonus based on how many tires I install on a car for that week. That still doesent entitle the customer to my services while I'm not at my place of work. If you buy a shirt at a show that money you paid was for the shirt. All you should expect to get was the shirt. That's what you paid for. The shirt... not a picture and an autograph in a hotel or airport lobby... Like I said before you want either of those go to a meet and greet or a signing event...

Anyone who has ever had to deal with a long flight and waiting for bagging knows how stressful it is. It's utterly disrespectful to interrupt and hound someone during that process. And no matter how much someone justifies it, it IS creepy and wrong to find out where someone will be landing/staying in a hotel to meet them. It is stalking, regardless if that person is a celebrity or not.
Four years ago, I was walking through the city I lived in at the time, I was walking past one of the biggest hotels in the city and there was a crowd of people. I stopped and asked what was happening, when I saw Jinder Mahal and Roman Reigns get off of a tour bus. One guy with a huge folder of 8x10's was bragging to me saying that him and his friends/family travel around the country staying in the same hotels as Wrestlers to get autographs. This guy is a total douchebag, and so is anyone else that partakes in stalking in this fashion.

i like to meet wrestlers, celebs, and athletes. ive got an extensive autograph collection. but ive got rules.
i only ask for autographs at the arenas, ballparks, or actual autograph signings. they are working and that goes along with the job.
under no circumstances will i ask for an autograph at a hotel, airport, restuarant, ect. i leave them alone and admire from a distance. they are not on the clock and deserve some privacy.

If I was a pro wrassler, I'd only sign stuff for the kids. Screw the smarks. Kids should be the priority for wrestlers anyways. Kids aren't thinking about going on ebay with a signed picture. But yeah I bet it gets old when a bunch of sweaty men come up to you with 8x10 and sharpie ready just wanting an autograph so they could throw it up on ebay. You would be surprised with how many people use their kids as bait. Oh can you sign this for my kid right here. Boom eBay I saw this at a Roman reigns signing this weekend. Some guy kept taking kids to the front of the line and asking people if the kid could get in line with that person because the kid was a big fan. Security did nothing about it. Makes me sick.

That is the one time I've been turned off by atheletes or wrestlers. If they don't sign at the actual arena. I've seen and dealt with a few atheletes who refused to sign and it just really turned me off of them especially because there was two exits. One didn't have to go past the public at all and they chose to walk through and ignore everyone.

its not just wrestlers, its all celebs..i tried to meet axl rose once, so yeah I went to the hotel (had no merch with me, just wanted to try to get a pic with him). i was the only one there w/o merch. im looking around, ppl are pulling albums out of their book bags, passing them out, 1 guy had a 10ft poster. im looking around like there is no way axl is gonna do anything for anyone here because they were all dealers. the icing on the cake was when i saw people passing out guitars to get signed & buy guitars, I mean atleast 12...i was right, axl showed up, went right inside & then everyone started bitching about what a dick he was & that he didnt stop....i wonder why lol

I'll pretty much summarize what I wrote in a similar thread a month or so ago....
I think it's a bad idea to bother wrestlers for pictures and autographs if they are in public places. They are not "on the job". I would not want to be bothered in the gym, at an airport, and especially not if I'm at a restaurant or anywhere with my family.
I went to an autograph signing to meet Sting back in November. He was there specifically to take pics and sign autographs. It was one of the nicest interactions I've ever had with a wrestler/celebrity. He was nice, funny, he talked to my dad and I for a few minutes, signed some stuff, posed for a pic with us....just an awesome dude. But he was there for that reason.
If I had seen Sting in the grocery store or the gym, I wouldn't have bothered him on his time. Wrestling fans for some reason think that the wrestles ARE the characters and that they are always supposed to be "on", but you have to have respect for somebody's personal life and understand social boundaries.
So if you bother a wrestler at the airport, or a hotel, or as they are trying to get into a rental car or put food in their mouth....if they are a dick to you, you deserve it because you invaded their privacy. I saw Randy Orton with his wife and daughter in a Toys R Us one time. I didn't even go up to him because he was clearly having family time. He doesn't need some idiot bothering him while he's trying to spend time with his family and you don't want wrestlers to feel like they can't go out in public without being bothered. It's not fair to them.
Bottom line, I'll never bother a wrestler/celebrity in public. If I want to meet them or get something signed or take a pic, I'll go to a meet & greet. That's when you are going to get them at their best moods anyway because they go to the meet & greets specifically for fan interaction. Like I said, if you bother them and get treated poorly, it's your fault not theirs.

It's not fair to them. That alone can be more memorable than actually meeting a wrestler at a signing session for example. It's not something that everyone gets to experience, spotting someone "in the wild" by chance and just watching what they're doing for a few moments. Almost 20 years ago I spotted a big name footballer who played for my team by chance as he was exiting a bar with his partner. I was on a bus so couldn't exactly meet him but I'll always remember that moment regardless. It comes to mind clearer than most WWE signings that I've been to.

People are going to do what they want to do, but my whole point is just that if you bother Randy Orton in the gym and he yells at you to go off and leave him alone, you don't really have grounds to come on a message board and say he's mean to the fans.

So knowing that the more tires you install, the more money you make....if a customer was to approach you after you punched out and had a question about the tire you JUST installed for them, would you ignore them and tell them to come back when you are on the clock? Would you instruct them to go inside and speak to someone who is on the clock? They only paid for the tire...not the right to get advice or questions answered about it. They bought a tire and they got a tire, right? If you want questions answered or get advice on tires...goto an official Goodyear seminar, right? I absolutely would take care of that customer. Being on the clock is irrelevant. I want this customer to come back. I want the opportunity to make more money. Treating customers like that is a good way for this guy to run to all his friends and spread a bad word about the tire shop. That means less customers, less tires installed and less money in my pocket.
