I remember there wa a thread a few months ago on this. I saw this post by Seth Rollins. I attend several conventions, and signings every year. However I've only approached wrestlers once In the airport. After mania 30 I bumped into Roddy Piper at the airport and he was more than happy to take a pic with me. Also bumped into Flair and he was turning down all fans. What do you guys think? I know lots of people wait at airports and hotels to meet wrestlers. I know Sasha Banks has had issues with this in the past as well. Interested to hear everyone opinions.

If i was a wrestler i would find it annoying as can be at he airport. If you just happen to stay at their hotel or are at the airport i wouldn't mind if i was a wrestler. If you're some mark who sits there with a bag full of crap for me to sign and take pictures then i'm not going to be happy about it. I can fully understand where these guys come from. When i fly i wanna get off the plane figure out where i am going and be on my way. I can't imagine having 20 people asking me for my autofaph on a stack of paper so they can make 10$ on eBay

CM Punk notoriously has had issues about this. I don't blame people doing this in countries were they go once every couple years but otherwise if you go to the airport or a hotel with the goal to get a bunch of autographs i don't blame the wrestlers for being pissed.

If I was a pro wrassler, I'd only sign stuff for the kids. Screw the smarks. Kids should be the priority for wrestlers anyways. Kids aren't thinking about going on ebay with a signed picture.
But yeah I bet it gets old when a bunch of sweaty men come up to you with 8x10 and sharpie ready just wanting an autograph so they could throw it up on ebay.

I don't blame them for being mad at all. Airports are hell to begin with and on top of that they're tired as hell so just let them be on there way and leave them alone.

The eBay stuff is one of the main reasons why I anyways ask them to personalize their autographs. Respectfully, of course. I ask them if they mind and tell them that this is guaranteed but to sure up on eBay now.
Also I just like having a personalized collection.

Could not agree more with his words. I'm sure that none of these wrestlers who've gained a reputation for "mistreating fans", such as Rollins, Sasha Banks and CM Punk, would have any problems signing an autograph or having one or two words for fans who genuinely just happen to be in the same location. But fans who stalk celebrities, lugging around tons of merchandise for them to sign, are most definitely violating personal space, having absolutely no consideration for them as human beings, and that's just plain wrong. I just can't understand how some fans can be so wrong in the head that they think this type of behaviour is okay.
The sad thing is that it is not just limited to pro wrestling either. In the Doctor Who fandom, there is a large group of people who literally stalk the cast and crew throughout the entirety of filming. These people literally spend every single day finding where the cast and crew are filming, in an attempt to meet the cast for the 1,000th time, and they have actually disrupted filming on several occasions. They're vile people, and recently complained about a disabled child being given the chance to meet Peter Capaldi, the actor who plays the Doctor, moaning about "real fans being treated like crap".
The type of people carrying out this type of behaviour are just scum, plain and simple. If you bump into any celebrity, common sense and empathy would tell any decent person to approach them at the right time in a respectful manner. When getting on or off a plane, any person would not be in the best mood. Stalking them with a ton of merchandise to sign is incredibly shameful and just disgusting behaviour. And that's not even getting into getting autographs for the sake of making a profit. That's disgusting multiplied to the power of ten.

See the problem is fans are a wrestlers bread and butter. Without them a wrestler is nothing but I really understand them getting frustrated because airports are stressful places.
Having said that refusing autograph scalpers is fine but I've heard reports of Punk and Sasha refusing to sign for kids in the past which is wrong because kids are the machine that generates the money that goes straight into their bank accounts.

Its totally disrespectful I would never wait at a airport or hotel for another person it's creepy af
They need to find hotels gyms places to eat there flights could have been delayed they will be tired so why disturb them
And as for kids that's up to the parents to learn their kid some respect and not disturb people that are busy
It's airport not a meet and greet people need to get a life

Many of the kids in the AP and hotels....are brought there by dealers in order to secure more autographs. I think most of the guys dont even realize it. One of my all time favorite moments of someone getting called out was HBK. Some kid, being used by a dealer, went up to him and Shawn looked at him and asked him who am I? Kid had no idea. Shawn told him that his father was a "pusher" and he should learn to stand up to him. Dont be bullied and do the dirty, evil, seedy work of your loser father. He patted the kid on the head, gave the dad a dirty look and walked off. Shawn had just spent literally 20 minutes signing for everyone. He went to his room to drop his bag off and came right back down when this kid approached. Honestly, 99% of my interactions at AP and hotels have been on the scale of good to awesome. I cant even remember the last time someone did get pissy. Its all about how you approach them.

Kids are the main fanbase who buy the action figures, merchandise, tickets etc. It it wasn't for the WWE fans wrestlers wouldn't be earning their huge weakly wage. Sorry to say but the airport stalkers and all those screaming kids are part of the package when you become a WWE Superstar. I saw a video of Dean Ambrose signing autographs in the pouring rain outside an arena and he didn't have to do that but he did because he knows that those fans keep him ticking.

It makes me laugh how people think wrestlers owe fans stuff when infact the don't, they're just doing their job. Does the person who made my burger in McDonalds owe me because I paid for it? Hell no lol.

Na they don't owe anything you buy a ticket go to the show they preform so that's you got your money's worth. You buy merchandise you get what you bought so yet again you got your money's worth so they don't owe fans anything. I buy every thing Randy Orton related but that don't mean I can invade his personal space and stop him at airports hotels gyms etc I have far to much respect to do that

I was 16 when Wrestlemania 20 took place back at MSG. That weekend, my older brother and I went into the city to try and meet some wrestlers as he knew where they were staying.
Rey Mysterio was outside of a hotel getting mobbed by people. He was unmasked with his family waiting for the valet service to get their vehicle. I don't remember the details of the interaction, but I ended up getting a photo with him that I still have to this day. He doesn't look overly happy in our picture and as I got older I've always felt bad about it since he was with his family. I wasn't looking for any autographs or anything, but I was a big fan and excited at the chance of getting a photo with him.
I'm 29 now and would never in a million years even bother some wrestler when they're with their family. I kind of understand why wrestlers make exceptions for kids. They don't really understand there is a time and a place for things like pictures and autographs. They see their heroes, they want to meet them. Even at 16, I feel like I was about at that cutoff age where I should've known better even if my intentions weren't bad or for financial gain.
These "adults" who knowingly wait in hotel lobbies and airports just to get a signature, it's kind of creepy honestly. We all love wrestling, but that whole illogical reasoning of "I deserve this because I pay their salary" is just a pathetic attempt to justify people who can't respect other people's private lives.
There's a time and a place for these things.

I've told the story before. In 91, after a house show where they were fighting each other, I saw Warlord and Davey Boy eating at a Denny's. My dad told me to get their autograph. I went up to them, Bulldog didn't look up, and Warlord very gruffly said ' not while we're eating!' We finished eating and hung around for a while after. Finally my dad said we had to go. He told me to go up to them again, even tho they weren't done. They quickly signed and we left. I dunno if they were pissed cuz we caught them breaking kayfabe, or if they were just jerks, or just in a a bad mood at the time. But I'll always remember that the 2 of them were sitting next to each other at the end of a long banquet table. The table was loaded with plates of food, like 10 plates of food. And they were the only ones sitting there eating.
