Look, if Brian didn't think this whole "you're too hurt to work" was nothing more than political BS (concussion lawsuits, DBry being the most over guy on the show, by a HUGE margin, much to the company's chagrin) then I'd imagine that he'd listen to what the WWE tells it's doctor to say. But since he's been VERY vocal from the beginning concerning his post contract plans, it seems to indicate that he's got a solid game plan in place.

Hey... I only pop when Matt blinks. Well, I guess that's not AS bad. It's the sideburns. They're mesmerizing.

Ever since Chris Benoit the WWE has been playing extra cautious with its talent.. I believe that plays a part in the decision and I also believe that they may have let Daniel Bryan continue to compete if his popularity within the ring wasn't so powerful.. He wrecked so much of what they were trying to do back in 2013/2014/2015. It's easier for everyone in the WWE to put him on the sidelines.. No injuries, no lawsuits, no wrench in their plan.

If he's legitimately being cleared by everyone but WWE then I'm down. I just hope he knows what he's doing. He was cleared by his doctor. Its WWE that wouldnt allow it.

From what we know his injury sounds similar to what Edge had, Edge continued to wrestle for like 8-10 years after. I think if he pushed enough, and basically said, I want to wrestle if you (WWE) dont want me, I can go to NJPW or ROH. They might allow him to get back in the ring.

It's not the neck injury that's keeping him from wrestling. It's his concussion history and he is susceptible to getting more and possibly CTE due to the lesions on his brain.

I still find it hilarious that they wouldn't let Bryan wrestle, but were completely fine with bringing back Tommy Dreamer for a few matches at the end of 2015.

It's his life, and I support the guy 100% no matter what he decides to do. I will say that being a father is bigger than anything that comes before it in your life. So I am glad he'll have time to make the decision well after the birth of his daughter.
If I'm being honest, deep down I feel like WWE is unnecessarily benching him because of something that "could, maybe, might" happen to him. I only say that because Bryan is so adamant that he's seen multiple external doctors and they are all singing a different tune. Again though, I trust Bryan and his judgment. If he returns to the ring I definitely won't miss it.

So its more to do with not doing the headbutts and reckless kicks Also on WWE's part, not putting him in 6 man ladder matches, and having more than 1 match a night. It's not that simple. Not doing headbutts, dangerous maneuvers, and dangerous matches undoubtedly will make it more safe for him. But a concussion can happen at any time. Bryan has had multiple concussions throughout his career. Once you have a few concussions you're more susceptible to having more, you can't control when you have one. Accidents are imminent in wrestling. Once wwe found out about his concussion history, his career was dead in the water. If that ever got in the public while WWE was letting him wrestle it would have been some bad PR. I'm sure there are guys on the roster who have had just as many concussions as Bryan, but Bryan was just in an unfortunate scenario. Guys like Tommy Dreamer were allowed to wrestle while he is arguably in worse shape than Bryan. Just an unfortunate situation all around.

Has there ever been a more famous wrestler to go back to the indies in their prime?

Bret Hart's career ended with simply a kick to the head. If Danielson wants to take his chance in BS indy feds with workers or go to Japan and wherever, then more power to him. I don't care what kind of "new style" wrestling he can do. All is takes is one simple kick. But hey, if making $2500 indy shots and then eating your food through a straw is what he wants, who are we to argue?
I do like how people are all up in arms against everything the WWE does. Here they are protecting one of your darlings so he doesn't get any further injuries, and still people crap on them. Unreal.

If he wants to wrestle and doctors are giving him a clean bill of health then all the power to him. But as much as I like the guy, I am kind of glad that he has not been around as an active wrestler the last couple of years. He has unintentionally been a cancer to the product. He killed Sheamus' push to the main event. He ruined Batista's return. Even Orton who has always been a fan favorite whether he played the heel or face suffered because he was the villain in the storyline of keeping Bryan down. Roman Reigns was on the cusp of super stardom until Bryan returned from injury.
