Are you joking? The 90's was one of the ****e'ist deacdes for music, the deacde of girl/boy bands, how wank were that, but as 0272 said it did produce the bands like Oasis and The Verve. Every deacade has good and bad music but the 90's is renouned for being ****e. This decade has brought some good music, bands such as The Strokes, The Libertines have brought something back and new to the plate and sparked off some great new bands. This decade has had some crap though, Scooter and Dj crap like that which has been made on a lap top computer with a stolen back track/beat and some ghey high pitched voice. I'm biased when it comes to guitar music, because it takes originallity and skill where as pressing a few buttons on a lap top doesn't take much. lew2007 you just gotta look at you car to see why your opinion is what it is.Ouch. ... my car's 4 months old.

Scooter were amazing in the 90s and they're not that good right now, but they were one of the few bands of their genre that had proper song structures and that's what's so good about them. They may have stole a bit of music here and there but they don't usually make it too obvious, unlike Kanye West and Rihanna's music which you can clearly hear the ripped riffs. Anyway, indie is usually depressing crap, i suppose if you come from the area than it might be good, problem is there are too many chavs about nowadays and they constitute much of the record buying (sorry, downloading ) public. Bring back power metal and decent thrash I say. Most of these crappy whore and master RnB one offs like Timbaland imitators I'm completely sick of. Also the acoustic songs and did I mention EMO? The lesser is said the better. I much prefer 80's to 90's music, and I can't honestly say I have discovered any really decent bands within the past few years that are new. I would say Gojira except they came about in '96. i agree With all what your Saying but; A lot a Hip Hop and Rnb Uses Sampled Beats & Drumloops but i suppose you can see this as Ripping off. And Scooter? awful trance music IMO and many people who are hardcore djs that know their stuff. Helium lyrics and incontistant loops were the main thing that made scooter a bit crap imo.

LMFAO I'd love for you to point me in the direction of a song where Scooter do hardstyle. Happy hardcore maybe, techno maybe. I'm not really sure what genre I'd put them in... but hardstyle? No.

Most sub-genres are questionable and debatable anyway

Oh shit, there was some sick emo in the late 80's/early 90's.
Anyone who's become disillusioned by emo nowadays should give bands like Cap'n Jazz, Mineral, Still Life and Rites of Spring a listen.

I'm not doubting you if you're saying they say that they do hardstyle, they probably do say that, I'm just telling you they don't. So it's kind of stupid to be giving it the "Trust me, I know" when you obviously don't. I wouldn't really say it's happy hardcore either, but it's way closer to that than hardstyle. I'm doubting you've actually heard a hardstyle track if you believe that they are. rapidshare.com/files/55642255/Black_and_white_-_dirty_games__tatanka_remix_.mp3^ hardstyle. Hardstyle as a sub genre is not questionable, because that's massively different to a trance song from someone like Tiesto or whoever.

People should just enjoy the music they like, and not care about what people think.
I'm sure there's people who dislike The Beatles or Queen, but if you don't like them it's up to you.
If you like some weird computer created music, as much as I hate it, it's not my choice on what others like to listen to.
However the people who say a band like The Beatles suck, are just blinded by their own stupidity.
Just because you don't like a band, doesn't mean that band is not good at what they do.

what does my head in when people take the piss out of bands like Enter Shikari because they play a different type of music that their usually used too, and defend a band like RHCP when the majority of their songs are the same... i had this argument with my girlfriends, sisters boyfriend at leeds...he wouldn't have it that ES where takin music in a different direction and RHCP are totally overated... No dude, the reason they take the piss out of Enter Shikari is because Enter Shikari SUCK. Actually the latest Chilis album is their most varied yet, a bit from their old stuff, a bit from the middle of the road stuff, a bit from the new stuff, and a few styles never heard before. I do agree with you that most of the songs on btw sound the same.I would agree that they are less popular than they were a couple of years ago and that's a good thing. Linkin Park sold out with their new one, it sounds exactly like all emo bands, i would never have thought they were that desperate for cash. I hate people who say they like this album and not the old stuff, when it should be in reverse. see, thats what im talking about with the elitist outlook on music... Have you actually listened to any of their music? before you cast judgement on them, i think you should... just because ES are seen to be a 'Emo' band people think they suck when their actually a fusion of 2 genre's that are seen as sworn enemies (dance & rock) put them together to make new music... RHCP are seriously the most overated band...on their own, they are great artists...the guitarist is awesome, flea is a decent basist and will ferrell on the drums is a decent drummer too...imo kedis is the week link of the band...hes just not a good frontman at all...i'd prob like them if he didn't front the band... plus, their sh*te live...

ES are not seen as emo, they're seen as hardcore dance rock. :[
Plus, people know ES suck because MH owned them at the Kerrang awards by winning the best album over them, and most people see metal as being dead.
The Blackening > they're album (Y)

ES are seen as 'Emo' and 'Scene' not Hardcore Dance Rock.
Happy Hardcore makes me laugh, the ghey high pitched voice, same beats use, some ghey keyboard solo + shoite lyrics. It's oh so very ammatuer.

Im Pretty damn wsied up on modern "dance/ electronica" music, i been into the music buisness seriously for about 2- 1/2 years or so now and mix every week. Yeah of course i know what hardstyle is and i dont wanna argue over this tbh, i think we are both right, yeah it IS technically evolved from trance but like i already said all sub genres are self proclaimed and very debatable, regardless of the actual tune. Like Drum & Bass has evolved from Jungle Music which evolved from original hardcore music, but no one would say that Dnb is Jungle or Hardcore. With all due respect.
