RAW is WAR June 9th, 1997 Hosts: Vince McMahon and Jerry LawlerExclusive interview with the Undertaker and JR JR: I'm glad you're giving me another chance to interview you. Last night Paul Bearer revealed the big secret about you, in that he blames you for the death of your family. Taker: I never thought I would be talking about this...but it's true. JR: This must be hard, how did it happen? Taker: I was just a boy...(gets almost teary) just a boy...let me tell you something about my father. He was a hard man, my parents owned the funeral home, it was my home where we lived. And as a hard man as my father was he told us not to play with fire...the liquids Jim, the liquids that were around at home were all flammable. He warned me not to play with them...but I did Jim, I saw how the house was up in smoke and I ran outside in time...(in tears) and they burnt...burnt alive...they died because of me. JR: That must be devestating for a child. How did you end up in the care of Paul Bearer? Taker: He use to work for our funeral home. He took me in after the incident. JR: I have to know something because you haven't answered me the last time we spoke. It's about the third person in the fire... Taker: That was...my baby brother...he was just a baby (holds in his tears). JR: My goodness...that must have scarred you just to think that your baby brother... Taker: (gets angry) It's a sick joke that Paul Bearer named his son Kane. Because my baby brother's name...was Kane...it was Kane! Paul Bearer, you will pay soon...soon enough...you promised to protect me, you promised to never bring it up...but one day I promise this...I will make sure you will rest...in...hell... The Legion of Doom (c) def. Doug Furnas & Philip Lafon via pinfall to retain the WWF Tag Team Championships
Mankind def. Brian Pillman via DQ.
Bret "the Hitman" Hart def. Kama Mustafa (w/NoD) via Submission.
After a commercial break, Vince McMahon makes his way out with a mic. Vince: With all the chaos that has been happening these past few months, for the attacks on me by the hands of a Stone Cold Steve Austin, early this morning I have made the decision to fire Mr. Perfect in his duties as WWF President, in which I will be taken on these responsibilities as part of company restructuring. As owner of the WWF, I have decided to appoint a WWF Commissioner. The Commissioner will make sure the job is done, and I can think of no one better in the world of Sports Entertainment than a former WWF Champion...the one and only, Sgt. Slaughter! Slaughter: (walks out) Attention! Thank you Vince McMahon and I am happy to follow your orders because that's an order! (they shake hands and hug) Vince: This is fantastic because I know that you'll do a great job. Slaughter: Thank you, and as my first act, tonight for the main event on Warzone, Stone Cold Steve Austin will be defending the Intercontinental Championship up against the World's Most Dangerous Man, Ken Shamrock! ECW's Rob Van Dam def. Flash Funk via pinfallOwen Hart def. Hunter Hearst Helsmley (c) (w/Chyna) via submission to become the NEW WWF European Champion. HHH has been hurt since last night even though he interfered in the main event. Owen gets in the sharpshooter for his WWF title win. Stone Cold Steve Austin (c) def. Ken Shamrock via pinfall to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship. The Rock interfered at the end of the match and landed the Rock Bottom on Shamrock to give Austin the win when he lands the stunner. Austin wonder why the Rock did that as RAW goes off air.

I think Rock helped Austin to retain his WWF Intercontinental Championship well because he wants to be the one to beat Austin he wants to do it himself and he figures Shamrock would be a tougher opponent to beat than Austin...twisted logic on Rock's part but I get it because all Austin is is a jabroni a rudy poo candy ass who needs to smell what The Rock is cooking
Rock winning KOTR I mean it definitely creates tension between him and Faarooq as part of The Nation
DX I just hope they do more stuff to get underneath McMahon's skin as well as getting underneath Commissioner Slaughter's skin
Undertaker your baby brother is alive he didn't die Kane is alive and Paul Bearer has been the one raising him ever since the fire...because Paul Bearer is Jane's biological father because Paul had an affair with The Undertaker's mother and Kane is the result of that affair Kane and Undertaker are half brothers same mother different fathers

Gotta love Austin...it seems the seeds have been planted for Austin and McMahon's rivalry during The Attitude Era...I wonder if Patterson and Brisco will join Vince and become his stooges his associates?

WWF Champion Shawn Michaels comes out with Chyna and HHH and get on the mic with JR. JR: Shawn, Bret Hart has been on a warpath ever since you won the WWF Championship, which I might add, was with an unfair advantage. Shawn: Let me tell you something the Heartbreak Kid beat Bret Hart fair and square. The first time I won this at Wrestlemania XI, I beat him for the one two three. No matter what Bret thinks, there is no way he can take this away from me. JR: Well you got your posse out here, and it seems you have yet to offer the Hitman a rematch... HHH: Shawn Michaels is the greatest of all time, show some respect out here will ya ha! Shawn: The Heartbreak Kid never backs down a challenge, and my man here Hunter Hearst Helmsley wants a chance to get his hands on your brother Bret. So how about this, in your hometown in Calgary Hunter and I take on the Hart brothers, whad'ya say? Bret makes his way out and gets on the mic. Bret: You know Shawn, you're the biggest piece of $hit I've ever seen. You want a tag match, fine, but that won't stop me from getting my rematch. Shawn: You want a title shot, I'll give it to ya if you can beat us in your hometown, because I know you can't and I can't wait to humiliate you infront of your family ha! Bret: You don't got a chance.... Chyna attacks Bret from behind and HHH fights him. Bret pushes them both, but Shawn gets in the superkick knocking him down. Ken Shamrock fought Faarooq (w/Henry, Kama and D-Lo) to a Double DQ. After the match, the Rock ran out and started attack Shamrock. The NoD gang up on him and leave him in the ring. Jim Neidhart & Brian Pillman def. The New Blackjacks via pinfall

Austin: Is that all, you're the commissioner? That's why you brought me here to tell me something everyone out here already knows? Slaughter: It's not all and to make it clear yes I am the commissioner and that's an order. Austin: What you don't understand jacka$$... Vince: Hey show some respect! Austin: Respect is earned and I don't go to respect anybody you tell me too. (to Slaughter) You talk about that's and order this and that's an order that, I don't give a damn about what your order is because from the way it looks the only thing you've been ordering around here is a bunch of cheeseburgers. Slaughter: What I wanted to tell you is that I have decided to give you some time off. Austin: What? You want to give me time off? Slaughter: (gets booed) That's right. You need to cool down Austin. You've attacked superiors, you're chaotic and to be fair, I'll allow you to keep the Intercontinental Championship. Austin: You want to keep me home, heck I know I won't get paid and I'll have to end up on welfare, heck I'll have to sell this belt on the streets, is that what you want? Slaughter: Look, I'm a man who respects what you've done so far. You're a two-time IC champion, you're a King of the Ring winner and you're the toughest man in the WWF. Austin: What you don't understand you piece of trash, is that what I do for a living is beat up people. That's what I want to do and there in no damn thing you gonna do about it because I don't need no time off! Slaughter shakes his head and starts talking to Vince till suddenly Austin STUNS Slaughter!

Farmer's Daughter performs O Canada to start the PPV. Lawler bashes Canadians on commentary, while Vince says that he's looking forward to see Canada's own Tiger Ali Singh in action (initially he was billed as from "India", but now he's "Canada's own" since he's technically from Toronto). Tiger Ali Singh (w/Tiger Jeet Singh) def. Savio Vega via pinfall.KOTR 97 Winner The Rock (w/NoD) def. Ken Shamrock via pinfall.
A big win for the Rock who had help from Faarooq, Kama and D-Lo. The Rock in the back acts all cocky saying he "did it by himself". Faarooq finally tells the Rock off saying that if the Rock wants to be in the NoD he has to show some respect and change his attitude. The Rock apologizes and says that he wants the Intercontinental Championship back. __________________________________________ TRIPLE THREAT IC TITLE MATCH: Stone Cold Steve Austin (c) vs. Mankind (Tag Champ) vs. Goldust (Tag Champ) (w/Marlena) with SPECIAL GUEST Referee: Pat PattersonPat Patterson is out first as the referee. Mankind and Goldust come out seperately as the WWF Tag Team Champions. Austin makes his way out to a huge pop. Austin doesn't waste time and attacks both Mankind and Goldust, but is later manhandled by both Mankind and Goldust. The double teaming continues throughout the match as Vince ends up laughing on commentary saying "this is great" and JR says that's uncalled for, Lawler tells JR to shut up. The match continues till Austin fires back on the both of them with lefts and rights. Austin takes out Goldust on the outside and works on Mankind till Mankind gets in the mandible claw! Austin passes out till Goldust breaks the hold! Mankind and Goldust finally start fighting! Austin decides to roll out of the ring to WATCH the match! He gets on the mic on commentary and says "Vince as you can see these two pieces of trash are going at it and I'll let them waste each other!" Vince looks upset and worried. As Goldust gets in his finisher on Mankind, Austin runs in and opens up a can of whoop a$$ till he finally stuns Goldust! Mankind is up and Austin stuns Mankind! Austin let's Patterson count them out with the ten count as Austin sits in a corner laughing. Winner: Stone Cold Steve Austin via Decision to retain the WWF Intercontinental ChampionshipAustin: (grabs a mic) If you (Vince) and Sgt. Slaughter think you can scare me, well hell, their ain't anything you can do about it and that's the bottom line because Stone Cold said so! __________________________________________ The Undertaker def. Vader via pinfall to finally get a victory over Vader. Late in the match as Vader manhandled Taker, Kane makes a shocking appearance and chokeslams Vader to give Taker the win! Taker doesn't know why Kane did it, it's a stare down as Kane leaves the ring. __________________________________________ Bret "the Hitman" Hart & Owen Hart (c) def. Shawn Michaels (c) & Hunter Hearst Helmsley (w/Chyna) via Submission in a Tag Team Match.
Bret and Shawn, Owen and HHH for the most part were going after each other. Near the end of the twenty minute match, Shawn gets in the superkick on Owen for the pin, but Bret breaks the hold. Thereafter Bret gets in the sharpshooter on HHH as Owen works on Shawn on the outside for the submission win. Bret gets a shot at the WWF title ending the PPV with the Hart brothers waving the Canadian flag.

I love Austin...he gives the Stunner to Vince and he does it to Slaughter and because of that he has to defend his title in a Triple Threat Match...facing Goldust and Mankind the WWF Tag Team Champions in a Triple Threat Match with his WWF Intercontinental Championship on the line and Vince bringing in Patterson I wonder if he will bring in Brisco too?
It seems the Taker/Kane rivalry is just heating up

RAW is WAR July 7th, 1997 Hosts: Vince McMahon, Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross
RAW opens with Sgt. Slaughter announcing in the back tha t Stone Cold Steve Austin will be defending his WWF Intercontinental Championship up against the Rock at SummerSlam and that Bret "the Hitman" Hart will be taking on WWF Champion Shawn Michaels in the main event. Crush fought Savio Vega to a Double DQ. After a commercial break the two get into an argument, challenging each other to a "gang war" in which JR wonders what is going on. Owen Hart (c) def. Goldust (w/Marlena) via Countout to retain the WWF European ChampionshipBrian Christopher def. Eric Shelley via pinfallThe Great Sasuke & Taka Michinoku def. The Godwinns via pinfallShawn Michaels (c) (w/Chyna) def. Jim Neidhart via pinfall to retain the WWF ChampionshipThe Undertaker gets in the ring and on the mic. Taker: You know last night I couldn't understand what was going on. I vanquished Vader, but Kane was responsible for it. Why Kane? Why did you do it? I came out here to ask you to come out face to face because I need to know why. Kane makes his way out with Paul Bearer and get in the ring. Taker: Tell me Kane why did you do it? Paul: He can't talk! Don't you understand? Taker: Why not? Paul: Because he's your brother!!! (commentators are shocked) Taker is stunned. He gulps, his breath is heavy, he starts to look at Kane and wonders if it's even possible. Taker: That can't be, my brother Kane died in the night of the fire! Paul: (laughs) No he did not! You were too young, too blind to see how your mother loved me! Yes I worked for your father, but your mother and I had an affair! Taker: (gets angry) Don't you dare...(Kane gets in Taker's face) Paul: It's true, you know it! The only why you are still standing here is because you were her son! The woman I loved! But you killed her! And you almost killed Kane, but Undertaker...Kane survived ooo yes...I saved Kane in the nick of time when he was in the nursery, but it came with a price! Kane's face burned from the fire! He was a damaged baby and it was your fault! Your fault! Taker: No....no...(starts to believe it), this can't be...Kane? Is that really you? Why didn't you (Paul) tell me! Suddenly Kane starts choking Undertaker. Taker doesn't want to fight back as he stares into the hideous eyes of Kane and faints in the middle of the ring as RAW goes off air.

Oh my God Kane is The Undertaker's brother...I knew it I knew it I knew it...Paul Bearer had an affair with The Undertaker's mother and Kane was the result of the affair and The Undertaker's father had no idea that Kane wasn't his son The Undertaker's mother cheated on his father with Paul and Kane being the result of it all I am just shocked...I am really shocked but honestly I can't say that it surprises me
Kane survived the fire obviously but this feud this sibling rivalry if anything has just gotten more personal
I wonder if Kane will show us all his supernatural powers? I mean we all know that Taker has powers that he is the master of the mind games but Kane obviously has to have powers too Kane is probably at this point just as strong if not stronger than The Undertaker
Austin/Rock at SummerSlam 1997 if anything for the WWF Intercontinental Championship is a match that I am looking forward to...I wonder if The Nation will get involved here in this match?
Michaels/Hart for the WWF Championship at Survivor Series 1997 the Montreal Screwjob is going to happen it has to happen it is bound to but seeing them go at it at SummerSlam for the title I mean I can see Michaels somehow retaining if anything because of DX getting involved well not only Chyna and Hunter but I see Rick Rude the Insurance Policy joining DX to help Michaels

RAW is WAR July 14, 1997 Hosts: Vince McMahon, Jerry Lawler and Jim RossThe Undertaker does a promo backstage in the dark: Last week on RAW is WAR, my whole world came crashing down. How could I have not known about Paul Bearer? All these years he hid my brother away from me...all those years! All those years I've believed Kane was dead. I remember him as an infant, in my mother's arms. I remember holding him for the first time and even giving him a bottle. I remember it all and he's...he's alive. I loved my little brother, there was nothing in the world that I wanted than a little brother when I was little. It was one Christmas morning, and there he was little Kane brought home from the hospital, a Christmas miracle I thought...What greater crime is there Paul Bearer? What greater crime is there than hiding the truth? Kane...if you're listening, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for burning you, I'm sorry for what I did, I'm sorry for killing our parents, but I was just a small boy...one day I hope you realize that. One day. Ivan Putski & Scott Putski def. Jerry "the King" Lawler & Brian Christopher via pinfall in a Father-Son Tag Team Match.

- Hearing Kane and The Undertaker's backstory and how Paul Bearer fits now into all of this all makes sense now...Kane I cannot see him forgiving The Undertaker any time soon in fact I can see him wanting to destroy The Undertaker altogether especially with him being Paul Bearer's son and him being burned and left for dead by The Undertaker Kane obviously wants revenge hence why he is even here in the WWF
- For Undertaker vs Kane I feel like it is too early for this feud to happen...definitely would have saved it for WrestleMania 14 in this diary rather than having it as early as SummerSlam 1997 not to mention at this time in real life Taker was more or less feuding with not only Bret Hart he was feuding with Shawn Michaels as well especially Michaels hence the first ever Hell in a Cell Match at WWF In Your House Bad Blood where Kane made his infamous debut where he ripped the Cell door off of its hinges and he got into the Cell and left Taker laying with his own move the Tombstone Piledriver

RAW is WAR July 21st, 1997 Hosts: Vince McMahon, Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross The Patriot (RAW Debut) def. The Sultan via pinfall. The Godwinns def. The Headbangers via pinfall
Hunter Hearst Helmsley (w/Chyna) def. The British Bulldog via pinfall
Faarooq (w/NoD, but no Rock) fought Owen Hart (c) to a No Decision. As the match was going on, Savio Vega, angry that he was kicked out a while back from the NoD, decided to bring out the Los Boricuas gang to attack Faarooq and the NoD. As JR calls it a gang fight, the Disciples of Apocalypse also run out and attack both the Los Boricuas and Nation of Domination. It's an all out war between three stables that ends in the back till heavy security finally put a stop to it. Warzone begins and Austin makes his way out with the IC title. Austin: I know what you're all thinking, I've beaten up the Rock before and at SummerSlam, I'm gonna open up a whole lotta cans of whoop a$$. But I'm out here because Sgt. Slaughter and you (points at Vince) think you can scare me into submission. I don't give a damn about the Nation of Domination and what they can do, but it seems after today, they've got there own problems to deal with. So the Rock you might as well give it all up because there is no way in hell you're taking this title away from me! The Rock makes his way out alone on the stage platform with a mic. The Rock: You know what I realize is that you're all just talk. Everyone out here knows that I will walk out of SummerSlam the WWF Intercontinental Champion (Rocky Sucks chants explode throughout the arena). Austin: I think you're mistaken... The Rock: It doesn't matter what you think...because I guaran-damn-tee that I will walk out with the WWF Intercontinental Championship because I am the future of the WWF. I was the greatest Rookie. I won the King of the Ring and one day, the Rock will become the WWF Champion. But at SummerSlam, greatness awaits for me, because the Rock and Stone Cold, two sobs will be going at it, and only one... Austin: What don't you shut that damn mouth of yours because I feel like giving someone an a$$ whooping so get in the ring if you got the guts, but I don't think you would because you're a piece of trash... The Rock actually runs in the ring and they fight! Fists fly back and forth till Austin goes for the stunner only to receive the Rock Bottom; leaving Austin in the ring.Dude Love & Goldust (c) def. The New Blackjacks via pinfall to retain the WWF Tag Team Championships. Before the match, Mankind didn't come out, but instead "Dude Love" walks out with the WWF Tag Team belt and says that "Mankind" gave him the okay to wrestle for the team for now. Ken Shamrock fought Vader to a Double DQ.
The Undertaker def. Tiger Ali Singh (w/Tiger Jeet) via pinfall. After the match, Taker gets on the mic. Taker: As for Kane's challenge...I don't want to fight you brother. I want you to join me. I want you to realize how evil of a man Paul Bearer really is. But if the only way to make you realize it is in a match...well I'm fine with it. I accept and at SummerSlam you'll feel my wrath, my pain, my suffering, and my redemption.

RAW is WAR July 28th, 1997 Hosts: Vince McMahon, Jerry Lawler and Jim Ross The Truth Commission (w/Commandment) (RAW debut) def. Bob Holly, Flash Funk and Jesse Jammes via pinfall.
Triple Threat Match: Crush fought Farooq and Savio Vega to a No Decision. Another "gang war" breaks out between the NoD, DoA, and Los Boricuas. Sgt. Slaughter immediately announces that the three stables will be in a Street Fight at SummerSlam. The King Jerry Lawler is in the ring and talks about SummerSlam. He says that he has his money on Shawn Michaels and the Rock. As he continues to praise the Rock, Austin makes his way out to a pop (Vince says this isn't good). Austin: You talk about guys like Shawn Michaels and the Rock. You a betting man? Lawler: Occasionally, look I just think after that Rock Bottom you felt last week, just how can you withstand the Rock. He won the King of the Ring... Austin: In case you forgot, I won the King of the Ring last year and I'm holding the WWF Intercontinental Championship in my hands right now. You want to make a bet, you better know the odds and the odds are stacked against the Rock. Lawler: (laughs) Come on Stone Cold, we all know... Austin: Why don't you just shut it before I whoop your a$$ right this instant. The Rock doesn't stand a chance and at SummerSlam... Lawler: Don't you interrupt me. I ain't afraid of you Austin, unlike some people out here (looks at Vince). Austin: You ain't afraid of me? Lawler: You're just another dumb redneck and I ain't gonna put my money on you... Suddenly Austin stuns Lawler as the crowd goes wild. During the commercial break, a clip of Vince is shown in the ring saying "I've had it...I've had it with Austin!"The Godwinns def. Dude Love & Goldust (c) (w/Marlena) via Countout. Love and Goldust retain the Tag titles. Goldust wants Mankind back, and says that he knows that Dude Love is an alter ego of Mankind and lands his finisher on the concrete! Devon Storm def. Ace Darling via pinfall.
Vader def. Ken Shamrock via Countout. Shamrock wants another rematch. The Legion of Doom def. The New BlackJacks via pinfall. The Patriot def. Bret "the Hitman" Hart via pinfall.
A massive upset. Bret and the Patriot shake hands at the beginning of the match and as JR calls it "a good-old fashion old-school match". Near the end of the match, HBK, HHH and Chyna make their way out and distract Bret for the Patriot to get in a roll up victory. Bret is pissed and doesn't believe it. Shawn laughs like crazy holding the WWF title. Bret jumps out and attacks Shawn! HHH and Chyna attack Bret from behind, but the Patriot helps Bret out till the trio leave as RAW goes off air.

SummerSlam August 3rd, 1997 CAA, East Rutherford, NJ (sell out) Hosts: Jim Ross and Jerry "the King" Lawler Ken Shamrock def. Vader via Submission with the ankle lock. Shamrock gets the big win over Vader. Hunter Hearst Helmsley (w/Chyna) def. Owen Hart (c) via pinfall to become the NEW two-time WWF European Champion. HHH gets in the pedigree and wins the match clean to regain the Euro title. Dude Love & Goldust (c) (w/Marlena) def. The Legion of Doom via submission to retain the WWF Tag Team Championships. Goldust once again attacks his tag team partner Dude Love hoping to get back "Mankind". Love refuses and starts to twitch near the end of the match and even gets in the mandible claw on Hawk for the win. In a post-match promo Dude Love says he doesn't know what got over him. GANG WAR STREET FIGHT: The Nation of Domination (Faarooq, Kama, D-Lo Brown and Mark Henry) def. The Disciples of Apocalypse (Crush, Chainz, 8-Ball and Skull) AND the Los Boricuas (Savio Vega, Jesus Castillo, Jose Estrada Jr and Miguel Perez Jr). The street fight happened in the parking lot. The rules for the "Gang War" stipulation was that the last man standing wins for their team. Faarooq ends up being the last man standing with everyone beaten up by baseball bats, chains, trash cans and so on. _______________________________________________________ The Undertaker vs. Kane (w/Paul Bearer) in Singles competition A highly anticipated match that starts with the staredown. Taker goes for the first punch, but is blocked with Kane getting in an early chokeslam. Both men seem to be at equal standing during the match with Kane using most of Taker's moves, but seems to be quicker with the excuse of being "younger" and more agile than Taker. Late in the match, the Undertaker goes for the tomebstone piledriver and lands it. Paul Bearer is on the apron distracting the ref. Taker goes after Paul and starts to choke him. Kane sits up and manages to land the Tombestone piledriver on Taker for the win. Winner: Kane via pinfall.
After the win, Kane raises his hands and drops them for the whole ring to go on fire! _______________________________________________________ Stone Cold Steve Austin (c) vs. The Rock for the WWF Intercontinental Championship with SPECIAL GUEST REFEREE: Pat PattersonAt the beginning of the match, Sgt. Slaughter announces that Pat Patterson will be officiating the match. In the back the Rock congratulates the NoD on their win earlier, but says that he wants to do this alone. The Rock and Stone Cold put on a twenty minute epic match with both men performing at their best in this point in time. Late in the match, the Rock gets in the Rock Bottom but is too hurt for the pin. He finally does with Austin kicking out in time. Thereafter Austin gets in the stunner, but is hurt and nearly passes out. The referee counts to nine till Austin gets his arm over the Rock for the nearfall. Vince McMahon and Sgt. Slaughter with WWF Officials come out near ringside. Austin decides to get in the old-school Million Dollar Dream submission. The Rock is about to passout, but manages to reverse it! The Rock locks in the hold till.... Vince shouts at Patterson who CALLS FOR THE BELL and runs out! The Rock and Austin fall down and it looks like both men have no idea what's going on. The Rock rolls out as Austin is up and leans on the ropes giving the finger to Vince as JR says "I think Vince McMahon, the owner of the WWF screwed Austin!" Patterson hands over the IC title belt to the Rock who runs off with the belt and with security. Winner: The Rock and NEW two-time WWF Intercontinental ChampionAustin doesn't look happy and "spits" on Vince. Vince wipes it away and decides to leave with Slaughter, Patterson and another who JR recognizes as Brisco. Lawler says he hopes we get to the bottom of this as the fans throw trash towards Vince and Austin is completely frustrated. JR keeps saying "why goddamit why!" Austin goes to the outside and starts to smash things around him in frustration. _______________________________________________________ Bret "the Hitman" Hart def. Shawn Michaels (c) (w/HHH and Chyna) via pinfall in a No DQ match to become the NEW WWF Champion. Finally, after two major confrontations for the WWF title, Bret has managed to gain the victory over Shawn Michaels (who in a shoot didn't want to drop the belt to Bret, but was forced by Taker to do so). Despite attempts by HHH and Chyna to interfere, Bret manages to use a chair against them and smashes it over Shawn's head in the ring. Bret uses the ring bell and strangely tangles it up for a Sharpshooter. Shawn is cut open late in the match and even gets in the superkick. The match was fast-paced with Bret getting in a desperate small package for the win when Shawn went for another superkick. _______________________________________________________ In the back there is much commotion as the cameras start rolling. In the distance Austin knocks out McMahon and Patterson, as WWF Superstars stop him. Austin is cursing his way in the back so much it wasn't censored on PPV. Austin is taken out by security guards as Vince and Patterson are on the floor being looked at by WWF Officials. SummerSlam goes off air.

Why are you changing history around so much? I just don't get why you would have the Screwjob happen now when it should have happened at Survivor Series 1997 and I don't get why you would have Austin be the one who gets screwed when we all know that it was Bret I mean public knowledge that it was Bret and that Shawn was the one who did it
Plus Bret was frustrated with the company too hence why he left and went to WCW
Kane beating The Undertaker I can get behind that...sets up an eventual rematch down the road

Yes Bret was frustrated, but it was Vince who told him he couldn't afford him anymore that's where everything went wrong, plus Bret initially told Shawn he'd be willing to put him over, but Shawn told Bret he never would do such a thing and that's where things went sour. Don't worry the "screwjob" on Austin is a work

RAW is WAR August 4th, 1997 Hosts: Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler
Highlights shown from SummerSlam with emphasis on Austin being screwed by McMahon. Vince McMahon makes his way out to huge heat from the crowd and with a "black eye". I know what you're all thinking that last night at SummerSlam, I screwed Stone Cold Steve Austin from retaining the WWF Intercontinental Championship. But dammit no one understands. Do you honestly think that I should let any WWF Superstar treat their superiors the way Austin has done? When all of you, when you (points at some fans) or you or you, if you assaulted your boss even verbally using vulgar, you think you'd have a job the next day? Hell no! I didn't screw Stone Cold, Stone Cold screwed Stone Cold. It's because of Stone Cold's actions this year, when he assaulted me twice, assaulted Slaughter, assaulted Jerry Lawler, I made the right decision you hear me? (gets more heat) Dammit I'm Vince McMahon! I'm the owner of the WWF! And Austin, you stay home in Texas, drink your beers and collect your welfare cheques because I'm DONE with you! That's right, you're fired! You'll never step in a WWF ring again! This is my company dammit and I'll do whatever I want with it! (drops mic and leaves with fans changing "You screwed Austin")Lawler and JR talk about the incident and JR says that Vince could lose Austin to a rival company and that is "bad for business". Hunter Hearst Helmsley (c) (w/Chyna) def. Ahmed Johnson via pinfall to retain the WWF European Championship
Bob Holly def. Brian Pillman via Countout
Dude Love & Goldust (c) def. The Godwinns via pinfall to retain the WWF Tag Team Championships After a commercial break, JR and Lawler hear a rumour that Stone Cold Steve Austin might be backstage. The Patriot def. The Sultan (w/Iron Sheik) in a Flag pole matchThe Rock walks out to open Warzone and gets on the mic. Rock: I guaran-damn-teed I'd be the WWF Intercontinental Champion and the Rock is once again the champ. As for you Stone Cold, I'm not afraid of you. In fact I think you should come out right now if you got the guts to take me on! Let's do it, the Rock vs. Stone Cold for the title right here right now! Come on out, I know you're hiding back there! Austin's theme plays with the titantron display of Austin 3:16 as the crowd is on their feet, but it's NOT Austin. Instead it's a "Mini Austin" who walks out as Lawler laughs it out and JR says this is humiliating. The Rock (c) def. Mini Austin via pinfall to retain the WWF Intercontinental Championship. Mini Austin runs around the ring till the Rock stops him and lands a Rock Bottom for the referee to count to three. Rock: (gets on the mic again) I told you Austin that I could beat you and can you smell what the Rock is cooking? Taka Michinoku def. Brian Christopher via pinfall
Ken Shamrock def. Kama Mustafa (w/D-Lo Brown) via submission
