Started around late 2014 because I wanted an AJ Lee figure to display with her Funko Pop, then I wanted all the AJ figures MOC, which I did, saw some of the figures Mattel had produced (I stopped shortly before Jakks stopped making WWE figures.) I tried to collect both male Superstars (Elite only) and female Superstars, but trying to play catch up was too costly, along with lack of space, now I just collect female Superstars, as they don't get as many releases, so it is easier financially. I buy two copies of my favourites, one to display, one to keep MOC. (MOC collections include, AJ Lee, Sasha Banks, Naomi, Mickie James & Alexa Bliss)

I buy all seth rollins, finn balor, sasha banks, bayley and alexa bliss.
I buy most dean ambrose, macho man, scott hall, sting and the females.
I buy anything that i look at and must havr, for example summerslam mankind, new day 3 pack or king booker.
Due to space i have become much more selective in my buys. I passed on the last elite rowan even though i wanted the 2 masks. Same with kalisto and the trampoline.
I dont buy junk characters that i dont care about. In the past i got a couple for variety, but you will never see me with a jyd, tito, tugboat, typhoon, earthquake, etc. And i am DONE with bray wyatt, cena, reigns and guys that dont interest me because man they add up quick.

I started collecting before Mattel came out with their figs, I'm more of a loose than a moc collector so it doesn't matter which state it's in for me. I'm not a big fan of flashbacks from -2000 (I guess it's because of my age). But if I see something I like, I buy it. When mattel came out with E1 I tried to get every single one, even the Jeff Hardy. I dont have a fancy display stand, just a bin from Walmart is what I use to store them. But I don't really care if I have one of a person or more, for example CM Punk, I really like his look and attires so I try to get all of his elites. But Hurricane has 1 figure lol

My area of focus is, like many others, the period I have the fondest memories of, so that's 1995-2001 WWF and WCW. I don't have any hard and fast rules, though I've thus far been successful of only having one figure per wrestler (which goes for characters too, so I have Diesel but no Nash, Hall but no Razor). This keeps it small and manageable. And as with most things I buy, I try to only purchase something if I have no mental hesitation about buying it; hesitation = no buy. I'm also quite stingy about how much I'll pay for older figs (Diesel and SDCC Undertaker aside...and Elite 12 Kane one day, I'm sure), so I try my hardest to not pay more than retail.

It started with just buying the top tier Legends. Main eventers, cool characters, and/or extremely over. Macho Man, Demolition, Mr Perfect, Road Warriors, Ultimate Warrior, etc. Then everywhere started clearancing out the Legends and the entire line could be purchased at around $5 each, and sometimes cheaper. So I figured why not get them all. Then I continued to support the line when it moved to matty collector and grabbed The Rockers, Andre, Brain Busters, etc. When the line moved to Flashbacks, I attempted to scale back and once again only get the characters I really was a huge fan of. Passed on Kane, Papa Shango, Edge, King Booker. Then around series 16 I started to get them all. Was able to find Edge at retail after getting Christian. Picked up everyone since and only skipping on Rock Concert Rock and DDP. Now I am attempting to scale back again. Too many flashbacks were coming out throughout several different lines and got to be too much. Recently skipped Boogeyman and Berzerker. Probably gonna pass on Shamrock. Trying to get back to the point where I only get the wrestlers that I truly care about or had a significant impact. That and tag teams. Any legend tag team that they make I will buy. I don't care who they are. Moondogs, Killer Bees, The Conquistadors, The New Rockers, Jesse and Festus, if they make em, I will buy em. And every Warrior, Savage, and Andre.

I buy the people I want right when they come out and go back months later buying those who I would later decided that I needed. I bought debut Goldust quick but just now bought the Ascension. I really want to buy Corporate Big Bossman but not in a rush since his price is so low. Same for the last Ryback elite.

I collect Moc. I only have about 20 figures in my collection that I absolutely had to have. Most of this is due to space limitations & that I prefer quality over quantity.

I collect as many wrestlers as I can to mirror what LJN figures I had when I was 9 and completely obsessed. I also go after the figures I was unable to obtain as a kid (Warrior, Hart Foundation, British Bulldog). Further adding on, I am a Ken Shamrock super fan so I've been getting figs that make sense to his rivalries during his 3 year stint with the WWE.
I do, however, want to purchase the Nasty Boys, smash 'em into pieces, take a pic with my Shamrock figure standing over those scumbags and label it "REDEMPTION".

Back in the Jakks days, I bought anyone and everyone I could find that had a 1st figure, then after that, just whichever attires looked cool to me. I have a basement full of tubs of those figures and quit collecting when they switched the license over to Mattel. There's no way I was about to start collecting another, more expensive line. I had put those days behind me, or so I thought :-)
Last summer, I picked up the HOF Macho King from Target (my 1st purchased Mattel figure ever, aside from the Bluetista, which my wife surprised me with as a gift for my birthday a few months before). Since then, I've acquired quite a collection for myself, but mainly am sticking to legends/flashback stuff with Macho, Warrior, Sting as my main collecting points. Retros I'm going to attempt to buy all of for the Hasbro nostalgia. Not a big collector of the current guys, but I'll pick up an Elite here and there.

Here's how I collected and after typing it out, I'm glad I've stopped. I collected from 1989 when Hasbro's were first introduced until series 5 of Jakks BCA figures. With the exception of a few rare things like the mail-aways and protos, I had all but maybe 3 Hasbro figures and I had everything Jakks released in its timeline of their first five series. I do remember having my Dad call the company in 1992/1993? when we saw the ad that featured Rhythm & Blues and asked how we can get the Greg Valentine figure, surprise surprise we were told its a prototype that's not available. - Around 2013 I checked the isles and saw Daniel Bryan and said "Hey, I'll buy this one figure it will look neat on my shelf." - This turned into me saying to myself that I'll collect every Daniel Bryan MOC and have a neat looking shelf of just his figures. - This turned into me collecting every Daniel Bryan and every CM Punk figure MOC. - This turned into me sort of blurring the lines and I began picking up a few things I would see and also start looking for MOC Legends. - This turned into me picking up entire waves, right around E25 I began to pick up entire waves of Elite, Basic, Battle Pack and all store exclusives which was mostly Wal-Mart's t-shirt series & K-Marts repacks. - This turned into me becoming a loose collector and I opened up about 100+ figures and placed them into baggies and plastic tubs. - This turned into me become a completist and I went back and collected as much as I could prior to the E25 waves and EVERYTHING going forward. And I had rules that if I ordered a /1000 belt figure the number had to be less than 100 and of the 15 I had none had numbers higher than 75, lowest was 2. - This turned into me ordering unopened cases of Elite figures and also complete waves. - This turned into me at my peak having collected over 450+ figures. One day I looked at it all and said "what am I gonna do with all of these?" - This turned into me liquidating large lots on eBay, I kept the figures I liked. - This turned into me deciding that I'd only collect Legends & Flashbacks with the figures I liked, and as a result I had to re-purchased a lot of figures I recently sold. - This turned into me bringing my collection back up to over 125+ figures. And had another moment when I looked at them all and repeated "what am I gonna do with all of these?" - This turned into me selling all the figures except for the guys I liked like Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, Finn Balor, AJ Styles. - This turned into me selling the remainder of the figures so I don't have a desire to start again. I currently have the final three figures I have left for sale on my Classifieds page. I now just like to look at the photos of the upcoming figures and look at the collections around here. I had similar types of collections for movies and books. Movies went from about 800+, including 400+ titles alone from the Criterion Collection, all down to about 20. Books I have about 50 and once I finish one I mail it to a friend or donate it so it's not lingering. And PlayStation games I have about 20 PS3 and 40 PS4 games, and once I fully Platinum or 100% a game I save it in a pile and take it to a trade-in store and convert them to a new game. Thankfully it's not a 1:1 trade so every three games might get me one newer game so I won't have a huge mass of games in the near future (hopefully.) I like to think that me trying to collect all the trophies in a game is just the same as collecting a tangible item, this way I can obsess over something without having to actually acquire and store something. The way I collect is very apparent that it's based on a psychological disorder, a real obsession, especially if they're based on series or numbered series. Hey there, nice to meet me! Seriously though, the similarities in how we collect things is eerie. LOL

I started off just getting Elites and keeping them MOC to get them signed. I then started buying a lot of basics to display in the future, but still Elites only to keep MOC. I recently lost interest in collecting basics, so I stopped doing that. Now I just buy Elites MOC of wrestlers I know I'll some day get a chance to get them signed by. So while a Macho Man Wolfpac looks cool, that's a pass for me.

I buy pretty much anyone who is on the current roster, unless I don't really see any point in having them (I've skipped people like the Ascension, Los Matadores, No Way Jose, any of the non-NXT divas, etc). Usually try to keep their looks as updated as I can, especially if they're upper card or main event. I buy every elite of some guys like Balor, Rollins and Styles.
I buy some flashbacks, if they're old favorites of mine. So the nWo, Umaga, select figures of Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold, Edge, etc

I watched wrestling from late 92/93 through about 2002. I probably didn't watch 5 minutes of WWE over the next decade during high school and college. In early 2015 I came across a news story hyping the Royal Rumble. The Rumble and KotR were always my favorite events as a kid, so I figured I'd check it out. That led to me subscribing to the Network on one of the free trials to see some old WCW ppv's, which eventually led to me finding NXT right near the peak of its hype.
Rediscovering wrestling put me on a pretty big nostalgia kick, and in the spring of 2016 I came across WM Heritage Razor Ramon, which led me to this forum and discovering all the flashbacks. I collect basically any figure during that early 90's-00's time period that I have some fond memory of. I tried to stick to just one version of each wrestler, but the different looks of guys like Taker and Rocky broke that rule pretty fast. I also collect current Elites of wrestlers who were featured when I first started watching NXT like Zayn, Owens, Enzo & Cass, or figures that really stand out like white ranger Rollins. I'm more selective with current wrestlers, and limit myself to what I consider their coolest or defining attire. I have always loved good tag team wrestling, so a big chunk of my collection is current or former tag teams.
In my mind, I have what I consider a pretty small, quality collection. But I've lost count and am probably north of 100 figures at this point, so that may be more fantasy than reality. I blame Mattel for turning out so many fantastic figures recently.

Whoever I like really, I only have multiples of Rollins, AJ and Finn Bálor. Anyone else is just a one off elite unless they drastically change their look or have an attire I need.
