Made it over 20 years before getting his first serious wrestling-related injury. Pretty good run.
Sucks, but hopefully this means they get off their asses and do something with Woken/Broken Matt.

I think this is a good time for the Hardy's to disappear for a bit anyhow. It was awesome seeing them come back at Wrestlemania and win the tag titles, but it would be cool now if they were off TV for months and then come back on Smackdown Live and go after the Smackdown Tag Titles.

Now that I think about it you're right, for a guy who does a bunch of crazy stunts and jumps and gets his first serious wrestling-injury over 20 years is very impressive! Jeff Hardy gets major props!

If they don't do the Broken/Woken gimmick now, I'm convinced they never will. They can either let Matt do it solo or keep both he and Jeff off TV and then have them return with the gimmick together after Jeff heals up.

how jeff’s body is even functioning is insane, but i imagine he’ll start being as roughed up as sabu shortly enough.

That's a shame. But maybe this can finally be their chance to go separate ways without having to feud.
If he going to miss some significant time due to surgery, please write it into a storyline. Have the Revival take him out. Or turn it into a big whodunit. That way when Jeff is ready to return, he already has a story in place.

He certainly hasn't looked comfortable in the ring the last few weeks. Hope he's able to heal up without surgery and just some physical therapy or something.

They need to remove them both from TV now for a good month. Then start quick 3 second promos popping up a little like 'save_us' but BROKEN.
Then have Broken Matt come back and get the gimmick started and then have him call Brother Nero in later.

No! It seems the universe really does not want me to see Jeff Hardy perform. Missed him on the 2008 UK tour due to him being drafted to SD, and now going again for the first time in 5 years, and I'll miss him again! I'd say there's always next year, but something else would probably get in the way again.
My personal disappointment aside, I hope he's able to make a smooth recovery. It's absolutely insane that he's wrestled for so long, with such a risky style, without having any serious injuries up till now.

Breaking news notification on the WWE App:
"Jeff Hardy has suffered a torn rotator cuff and will undergo surgery to repair it, WWE.com has learned.
The former Raw Tag Team Champion sustained the injury during a Six-Pack Challenge on last week's Raw that was eventually won by Jason Jordan.
"Jeff is dealing with a rotator cuff tear right now," said WWE Senior Ringside Physician Dr. Stephen Daquino. "It's a full thickness tear of his supraspinatus tendon and a couple of other areas in the shoulder. He's going to go for evaluation and probably for surgery next week."
Hardy added that he also tore his labrum and that he initially thought he dislocated his shoulder during the match.
"Once they get in there, they'll figure out more about what they have to repair," said Hardy. "But for sure, the rotator cuff has to be repaired, and then they'll look at the labrum when they get in there."
Hardy also revealed he would undergo the procedure next Tuesday, Oct. 3.
"It's depressing," Hardy told WWE.com. "More than any time in a career, it's those times that make you go, 'Wow, I love professional wrestling.' It sucks that I can't be involved in a match or can't get in there and do what I normally do because I'm injured, but I just have to get over that, stop worrying about it and look forward and push myself to get repaired and healed and come back better than ever with a brand-new shoulder."
However, as the road to recovery looms, Hardy would not rule out the possibility that the WWE Universe would see him on TV in a different capacity while he heals.
"There's a lot of crazy ideas," said Hardy. "It inspires me to think a lot more about what I can do other than the extreme stunts and still be entertaining."
Stay tuned to WWE.com as more details become available on Jeff's condition."

It's a shame his run is going to get cut short and hope Jeff has a speedy recovery. Hopefully Matt will get a nice singles push.
