I know a lot of people that post on this classic section miss the good old days and hate today's product. My question to you is what year did you start watching and what year did you get tired of wwe to the point where you aren't interested today anymore?

I started watching in 2006 I think (I remember playing WWE SVR ‘06 and WWF Smackdown Just Bring It! back when Blockbuster was still around) and got hooked on wrestling. The first match I watched was on Smackdown and it had The Undertaker fighting someone (can’t remember who but I do know it was in ‘08) and I loved it. I got tired of Wrestling this year after Mania 33, and you know why.

I started practicing McMahonism between WrestleMania V and SummerSlam 1989, and I started to lose interest on February 24, 2014. I still watch the PPVs whenever I get a chance, but I don't watch Raw and Smackdown as much as I used to, prior to the launch of the WWE Network.

I started watching in 1975-ish. I stopped watching once Eddie Guerrero passed. Then I'd just read the results from Raw & Smackdown online. I guess I just don't like change. When I was a kid, wrestlers were huge atomic-bomb farting monsters. Now they're all tanned, have ultra-white teeth, sculpted eyebrows & rely on flips, twists & acrobatics.

I started watching in the 80s. I dont remember exactly when. I still enjoy wrestling and tune in regularly on Mondays but I dont always pay attention to whats going on. The current product can still be good when they want it to be it just seems they half ass and mail it in most of the time.

Started watching in summer 89. Started to lose interest around 06 and rapidly over the last few years. Still casually watch now (and admit they have some great talent but the booking now is a deal breaker) Went to mania this year as it something I always wanted to do and I really enjoyed it especially wrestlecon to see the big older names but the "need to see" tv has long since gone for me. I have the network for the archive and and nxt but havent seen a full raw or smackdown in years and don't really watch the new ppvs as they are mostly throw away and forgotten 5 mins after they finish.

I started watching mid-70’s. ( ‘75 or ‘76) First match I ever remembered watching was a 2 our of 3 falls for the WWE tag team championships between the Executioners (Studd and Kowalski) vs Chief Jay Strongbow and Billy White Wolf.

Late 70s, early 80s for me. Around 2008 is when I started souring on the product.

Started watching circa 1987. I kind of soured on WWF in late 1991 after the Ultimate Warrior got fired and Hulk Hogan left to make movies, but WCW in the 90s kept my interest in wrestling alive especially since I wasnt a fan of the WWF New Generation or Attitude Eras. I enjoyed WWE a lot from 2002-2008, but became critical of it in 2009 and Ive been waiting for it to become good again ever since.

I know I watched wrestling in 1985 and 1986 because I remember knowing some wrestlers then. But I think I got into it more so in 1987, and then really into it come 1988. I remember watching Andre beat Hogan on the Main Event when it happened.
I stuck with it all through the bad times. I never stopped being a wrestling fan even when my friends did. Actually the New Generation era is probably my favourite era of all time.
But I think I started to sour on watching it religiously in 2010. When Shawn Michaels retired, it kind of bummed me out. Then a year later, Edge retired. And I really lost interest in WWE.
I didn't care for CM Punk, so his era of dominance did nothing for me in wanting to watch the product.
I think I got really into it when Seth Rollins turned on The Shield. I instantly became a Seth fan and then pretty much watched it steady since. Not that I didn't watch it before, but I know I didn't care if I missed an episode of Raw from 2011 - 2014.
But I also think my love dwindled down when I could read the internet reports on things. I know I watched Smackdown all the time from 1999 - 2004, but when Benoit left to go to Raw, I didn't care to watch it anymore. So I would just read what happened from the TV taping of the show. That stuck with me until Smackdown switched to Tuesday nights and went live. So I probably missed a lot of awesome matches and action on Smackdown from 2004 - 2016, but that's what the WWE Network is for, I can go back and watch stuff if I want.

I started watching regularly in early 2000 - more specifically the No Way Out PPV. It blew my 8-year old mind at the time. I actually watched it again recently on the network and it holds up pretty well. I fell off around 2011/2012. It was no longer must see TV in my eyes and still isn't. I was really only watching Raw at the point that I decided to stop watching weekly. The third hour really killed it for me because so much of the episodes felt like filler with nothing that interesting happening.
Nowadays I consider myself a high-level/casual viewer. I rarely watch RAW or Smackdown! but have subscribed to the network mostly for the archived events/matches. I'll sometimes tune into PPVs and I also make a point to watch the Big Four each year. I also come in and out of watching NXT.

Good stories! I started watching in 1991. After wwe bought wcw in 2001 and botched what should have been the angle of the century, that turned me off. I still continued to watch though, but I could tell after wwe killed the competition they got complacent and stopped caring for what fans wanted. In 2004 the ecw DVD was a hot seller. The ECW ppv was awesome in 2005. So they bring it back, but in their vision that no fans wanted. I almost stopped watching completely after that. But they are the only big game in town, I love wrestling, and out of loyalty I still continue to watch even though I always say I will stop. There is always at least one wrestler that I enjoy and always some stories I like.

Started when I was born, basically. 1990
Still watch but all it's become is "Reigns is the best ever!" While he does the super man punch 46 times a match

1985 world class wrestling and GLOW, then the MTV/WWF thing got hooked on wwf then nwa too. was HOOKED from 1985-1999, got sour on it in 99 a bit after my girl (since 92) left me as we watched all time together. but 2002 got me back for about 2 more years then didnt care anymore. was ufc/mma fan since 1994 and by 2004 that was my new love more than wrestling. catch some raws/ppvs here and there for older wrestlers always coming back like the rock. like wyatt's, sheild, strowman, brock/kane/taker of course. liked cm punk. but mostly cant stand the rest today.

My brother is 10 years older so by the time I was born he was well into wrestling so I was of course brought up with it rather than it being something I just caught on TV one day so I can't really give a definitive answer so lets just say 1993 onwards as that's about as far back as I can remember. Losing interest, hmmm... I would say that from 2007 onwards my interest began to wain, possibly earlier. Nowadays I don't follow at all other than if I see a match that might catch my interest but I'm completely oblivious to any storylines.

SummerSlam '88 - Phased out by 1996/1997
Phased back in 2011/2012 and ever since the brand split I'm having a really hard time watching, it has been a terrible consistent decline since the split was announced.

I started in 1981. With the exception of about 4 months in 1995, i haven't tuned out yet, but its definitely not what it used to be. The current crop of talent is amazing, their booking is not so much. But i can handle that,WWF/E's booking has always had some suspect logic at times. Its the sanitized, cookie cutter, and intelligence insulting commentary (no fault of the commentators either. We know whos producing them),combined with how much "creatives" hands are tied by the corporate aspects of the business and general need to be PC aware at all times. The danger, suspense, and drama have all been neutered IMO. The in ring is as good as ever though, so i stick around. But theres not a single storyline going today that captivates me in the way it did from 81-2002.

i watched in the late 80s and early 90s occasionally, I wouldn't say 'hey wrestling is on let's watch, but if I happened to be watching tv and I saw it was on I'd watch. I Really got into it in the fall of 96 when mankind was having the funeral for the undertaker and after that I watched every single week. From then on I watched religiously and probably rented summerslam 96 from blockbuster 25 times. I started to lose interest in the fall of 2007, I'd still catch the occasional Wrestlemania or Summerslam at a friends house. From 07 to 11 I didn't watch at all. Now I watch but absolutely hate the product, if I didn't have the WWE network I probably wouldn't watch or ever order a ppv

The good old days were the days of the Monday Night Wars between WWF and WCW...things were so competitive storylines were enjoyable and things were so simple
