Thank God for my wrestling DVD collection as it takes me back to a simpler time in my life not to mention when wrestling was WRESTLING.
I really miss those days...

Soooo true. Dvds and the network archive are great. No overly complicated swerves, overlooking (well less anyway) and great storytelling. Love putting on old primetime now and watching them one after another. The best days ever

When would you say wrestling stopped being wrestling? When wrestling stopped being entertaining? It's been many years let's put it that way.

As much as I love the attitude era, I would say that's when wrestling stopped being wrestling. That's when it became part soap opera, part action adventure, and part comedy.

NWA was the king for great pure wrestling in the 80s. That's not to say the WWF was a slouch in that department either during those days.
As far as the AE yeah it was great for storyline purposes but man alive it was bad for in ring work with a few exceptions.

If I was an adult wrestling fan in the 80s I probably would have preferred NWA Crockett over WWF.

As a kid i loved the bright colourful wwf and always will like the 80/early 90s stuff but as an adult nwa is also a favourite. Its gritty, more realistic and well worth watching. It reminds me of the attitude era with the realistic characters, stories and blood aspects but without the over the topness and Jerry springer style storylines that was the AE

Started watching in 76 and stopped in 82. Got hooked again in 2010 and haven't stopped watching since. You stopped in 82 and got back into it in 2010??? After 28 years what got you back in? You missed two golden eras.
