I was very excited to see Rocky Johnson show up in one of the leaked (tentative) lineups. 1983-84 are some of my favorite years to go back and watching in the WWF. I can only imagine that both Rocky Johnson and Tony Atlas are on good terms with the WWE today. The release of the Wild Samoans really get me pumped for at least one of the teams they battled with. Who would want the Soul Patrol? Is Rocky still even coming?

Either something changed and we are getting him now and is in the beginning stages or he was scrapped and the leaks aren’t right. Bill said don’t waste time or gas looking for one. He doesn’t even have a prototype.

Bill said it's not coming but take whatever Bill says with a grain of salt cause he's not really allowed to really tell us anything.

This info is based off old lineups. Some of this has changed. Don't waste gas looking for Rocky J. I don't even have one.

Who knows? I'm still peeved over Koko B Ware's figure being cancelled.

At this point? I doubt it. He was first to be paired with Rocky Maivia in Battle Packs 48 as a Basic, then they were replaced by Heath Slater and Rhyno, who were in turn scrapped from the BP48 lineup altogether. Then, several possible names leaked for Hall of Fame Series 5 and 6, but Bill put the kibosh on that (as seen above). Once you've been passed over twice, I think it's fair to say your time has come and gone.

Apparently Dude Love has been in and out of several lineups and it does appear he's finally going to get released. That said, Rocky Johnson isn't Dude Love. Not a knock against Rocky but he wrestled in an era before most were watching and his career was never really highlighted much. The only time you heard his name was in February when they bring up that him and Atlas were the first black tag champs and then later as The Rock's dad.

In his case, I want his figure to be released just so Bill can open up about the controversy surrounding it.

Hmmmm.
I own Tyler Bate, the WCW Target 4-pack, and the Kmart Piper/Savage/Steamboat 3-pack.....all figures that at one time Bill said either didn't exist, were cancelled, or he'd never heard of.
Bill usually only chimes in and says stuff is cancelled or false if he's trying to swerve us....

I don’t remember Bill ever saying he never heard of the WCW four pack, it wasn’t produce and at the TimeTarget didn’t order them.

I would like to know the whole story though since WWE usually allows Mattel to release figures that were already in production. We didn't get even get HOF Cactus Jack and that figure was complete and packaged.

Yeah, the WCW 4 pack got sent to Australia after the supposed cancellation order until hitting the Target shelves and website a couple of months ago. The Kmart 3 pack was suppose to have Hogan as one of the figures but he got replaced after getting fired. And no one said Tyler Bate wasn't happening. The question was how could some UK toy reseller get rights for an exclusive figure.

I think if it was in production it would be out somehow or somewhere by now

Hopefully they make a Samoan Family Picnic boxed set with Peter, Rocky, Rock, Jimmy Snuka, Nia, and Roman.

It was probably a figure they had trouble figuring out where to put it due to the deco costs. I do want to know the full story. Maybe Bill can go back on Sam Robert's podcast sometime soon and tell it in its entirety.
