Speaking of leaked lineups did we see a post with some leaks here early with Alundra, Razor, Mabel, and a few others or am I imagining things?

I don't want to make a whole new topic about this so
Are we ever going to get another Crush; Kona, Evil, DOA or even Kronik?

Bill replied saying most of it has changed and sometimes the names are just placeholder names for guys they haven't even begun work on. He also said the problem with the leaked lists is that it gets people's hopes up for figures that might not even really be coming. It was deleted soon after.

I really appreciate that Bill doesn't want to get our hopes up on figures that may never make it to stores. But to play devil's advocate, he posted something similar last year when 2017 lineups leaked, and only a couple figures on that list didn't come true. Maybe store exclusive lines are more tentative than the main line, but even if half the leaked list was released I'd be beyond thrilled. Literally every figure on the list was a must buy for me.

i cant imagine it selling well, but that doesnt mean i wouldnt buy it
id love a HOF 2 pack with Rocky & Tony, but the problem is they are just plain figures, nothing special or interesting to include with them. So unless they either put them in a build-a-set or build-a-figure line casual buyers would pass on them everywhere

I'm simply not sure why people on these boards, would be anti any figure. We all know there has to be 500 Cena's, and Triple HHH's for the average kid .... but without the new figures whether they are current or legends, the line becomes stale. We have a large collectors base ... how would Virgil sell and not Rocky Johnson the father of The Rock? The former tag team champion and in the early 80's he was a top tier guy ... same with Tony Atlas. They both have very good bodies too. I don't know ... I so enjoy this forum but when people become negative knowing there is a large base who would collect anything new, or legends ... I simply don't know why they wouldn't be happy for them. With the WWE network I would think anything is game.

Just because some people wouldn't buy a figure it doesn't mean that other people wouldn't. And, I get that some of the older guys (pre attitude era) are not going to sell well - unless they are the huge names (like Savage, Warrior, Hogan, Piper, etc.) but that doesn't mean they shouldn't get made. They can always have them as limited releases (like Virgil and Yankem) that way people who do want them can buy them and that way they won't clog the shelves for other figures. I have the mindset of I hope people get what they want. However, I do not think that Rocky Johnson would sell well today. But, I don't think that a Rocky Johnson/Tony Atlas set would do any worse than the Wild Samoans. If they put them as a limited release set (kind-of like Virgil and Yankem) it would be better than a wide distribution so they don't clog shelves.

They are too plain and no frills to make elites. People will lose their minds if Mattel made a Hercules but as a basic. Same for Valentine. That Tyler Bate exclusive is technically a generic figure with a UK title. Not that many are excited about that. I would buy a Rocky Johnson. But like others I bought like Tito and JYD, it would die a slow death.

Mattel wants to make money so they make people who they think will sell. And if they don't sell strong enough for Mattel and WWE, they rarely get another shot. It's not a charity where everyone gets a chance for a figure. I want a Nick Bockwinkel figure. That's probably never happening. There are cruiserweights who probably will never get a figure. Same for some the ladies.

Just like Shockmaster, Tugboat, Virgil, Berserker, and Doink were constantly requested folks that Mattel finally got did. If they think there is a big enough market to justify making it and a retailer to pay for it, Mattel make it. There is not a big enough market to do a Rocky Johnson. WWE haven't gave him a Legends deal so they don't see money in him either.

Another thing that drives me crazy on these forums is when people speak for Mattel. Bill speaks for Mattel. I will listen to Bill. If people quote Bill that is cool ... and I will listen to that as well ... but to have certain forum people come on here to lecture us why Mattel would do Shark, Shock Master and other short-lived characters over a Hall of Famer like Rocky Johnson is a joke and obnoxious. They have no knowledge and no right to speak for a company ... they should only speak for themselves. They can speculate but don't speak on their behalf because you don't know. I question anyone's desire to want a shock master figure over Rocky Johnson ... do people put him on display tripping? What did he do in the wrestling business that would warrant a figure? However, I will not hope against a Shock Master figure for those who want him just as I would appreciate the naysayers from always being negative on legends. Jessie Falcon from the old Toybiz days told me and said it publically that they would short pack female characters in the old Marvel lines because female characters didn't sell well. I respect Jessie because he is in the business ... but over time that mindset - his mindset was proven false. Female characters in both Marvel, DC and WWE are made all of the time now and selling great. At a minimum, I would hope that Mattel would consider that philosophy for Legends and Hall of Fame figures and short pack them or continue to do the exclusives ... particularly with the emergence and success of the WWE Network. Don't you think if Target offered Piper and Diesel online right now they would sell well? I do. I would encourage this forum of passionate WWE action Figure collectors to root for all to be made. If you don't want them don't buy them but have enough love and respect for those who do.
