Ciampa looks even crazier in the camo pants. He should wrestle in those.

Two match of the year candidates in one day. Suzuki/Tanahashi Gargano/Almas I love professional wrestling. I'm going to be watching Tanahashi/Suzuki in a few minutes. I'll probably wait on the rest of the show though. How was it? The show was good. The main event was amazing and told a spectacular story. The rest was good to very good wrestling. I expect the New Beginning in Osaka to be the best of the three New Beginning shows this year.

I'm not quite as in love with that match as everybody else seems to be. It started out good but the last ten minutes with all the damn false finishes and can you top this offense only for Almas to pin Gargano clean despite the story of the match being Gargano overcoming and winning... I'll call it a good match but I am sure there will be better this year.

Another thing NXT excels at is the use of an underdog. If used correctly it's one of the best tools in wrestling. From Zayn, Bayley, and now to Gargano, they just get it right.

The story told was could Gargano finally beat Cien Almas and the answer we got is a resounding no. The match was incredible, but Johnny Wrestling winning would have made this the perfect match. They could have done the Ciampa post-match attack to show that Ciampa will not allow Gargano to relish his moment and make it all about Tommaso. This could set up Ciampa/Gargano for the NXT title, where Ciampa wins the title due to ery, and you could have them feud over the NXT title, perhaps to the end of the year.

That was a great show. On paper I thought it was going to be a weak Takeover, but the only match that I didn’t get into was Fream vs Ohno. They had no chemistry (IMO) at all and a few botched looking moves. Undisputed Era vs AoP was way better than I thought it was going. To be. The storytelling was great and the end was perfect. The women’s match while not a wrestling masterpiece was masterful storytelling and made both women look way better than they were before it started. I thought Moon was going to pass out so that was a good unexpected finish to me. That main event was great Gargano is awesome and Alma’s is really making me a fan. Zelina is a perfect manager too.

NXT Takeover was pretty entertaining tonight.
My only gripe with it was I wish Roderick Strong was booked to wrestle on it, and I would have liked to have seen SAnitY involved in the Tag Title match in a 3 way type deal.
But over all, I am pleased and was entertained.

I swear to god that was the most amazing match I have ever seen live. I have not felt that way watching wrestling in person since Sasha/Bayley in Brooklyn. At one point you could literally feel the floor of the Wells Fargo Center rumbling. Gargano is a ing treasure and we need to appreciate him as such.

Man I still cant believe they signed a great masked luchador who could talk on a mic and made Adrian Cien Almas.

Another fantastic Takeover! Gargano vs. Almas was great. Can't wait for Gargano vs. Chiampa.

I came into the night believing it probably shouldn’t be Gargano’s time. But, deep into that match, it was so inherently clear. Gargano should have gone over, without any doubt. They can’t recreate tonight.
Almas winning is the only thing that gives me pause in calling that the best match in NXT history.
It’s going to be nearly impossible to outdo this match this year. Incredible.
First two matches were good. Ember/Shayna was fantastic. What a story. I thought for sure Black/Cole had stolen the show, and then that main event happened.
NXT TV may have taken a downturn, but Takeovers are still the best top to bottom wrestling shows in the world.

What an incredible main event. One of the best matches ever in NXT.
I felt like Gargano was definitely going to win once Candice chased out Salina. As others have said, Gargano should have won and then been attacked by Clamps while celebrating. That would have made the attack that much more evil

Gargano/Tommaso is a match that doesn't need the title, so I totally understand why Gargano lost, incredible match.

The Main Event was one of the best matches I've ever seen. The commentary was absolutely outstanding too. If only timing was different and it was Brock Lesnar vs Johnny Gargano at Wrestlemania. What an incredible story that would be.

As many have said, the main event was incredible. I know a lot of people were hoping Gargano would win and get attacked by Ciampa during the celebrations, but if wasn't in the cards for Gargano to take the title then I can't help but feel there was a missed opportunity to have Ciampa screw Gargano out of the title to further their feud. I think it would have made Johnny look better coming out of the match rather than losing clean to Almas.

I think it would have made Johnny look better coming out of the match rather than losing clean to Almas. Johnny plays the underdog so well it doesn't matter. Now Almas looks credible when he takes on Black Mania weekend. Also so nice to see something play into the story and ending of the match. The working of the leg on the tag match, resulting in a brilliant finish. You don't see stuff like that on the main roster much these days, lots of, let's work on Seth's knee for 20 minutes then he hits 5 dives and kicks like nothing happened. Just great stuff there
