Asuka never chose who she wanted to face at Wrestlemania so what exactly is the point of Nia vs Asuka at Elimination Chamber? I read that their plans are Nia vs Alexa for Wrestlemania so how is this gonna work

I think it's to give Nia a reason to be considered number 1 contender once Asuka jumps to SD. Let's say, Nia & Asuka go to a draw or at least Nia pushes her more than anyone else has yet, then when Asuka leaves, Nia will once again be considered top dog of the RAW's women's division.
It also give a reason as to why Nia would rather be in that match than in the Elimination Chamber match. She gets a chance to defeat the undefeated and if she does, she gets a one on one match at WM.

They wanted to keep Nia out of the Chamber, presumably to avoid an Alexa/Nia confrontation. But, she also pretty much has to lose to Asuka, so I'm not sure how she comes out of that scenario looking like a number one contender. The whole thing is a mess. Nia would be far better off just not being on the card.
The problem is, there's no depth. So, that leaves Asuka no one to face, and puts people like Mady and Sonya in the Chamber match, which, lol.

I think Alexa Bliss will cost Nia Jax the match against Asuka, preventing her from being added to the RAW Women's Title match at Mania. Alexa will turn on her best friend Nia, because Alexa will figure she's got a better chance at beating Asuka one on one at Mania and adding Nia to the match would make it statistically impossible for Alexa to retain.
Alexa will lose the Title to Sasha Banks in the Elimination Chamber.
WrestleMania will be Sasha Banks defending (and losing) the RAW Women's title to Asuka.
Alexa Bliss will fight Nia Jax in a one-on-one grudge match.
Charlotte will defend the Smackdown Women's Title against somebody from the Riott Squad, probably Ruby. Charlotte has been feuding with them for weeks and weeks.
This is just what I think, but I could be wrong.
The fact that Kurt Angle stated that Asuka gets the Title match no matter what but then made the match between Asuka and Nia to see if Nia gets added at Mania leads me to feel that Asuka is NOT switching shows to go after Charlotte.
But we'll see as we get closer, I guess.

I would venture to guess that Alexa will cost Nia the match thus setting up Nia vs Alexa, Askua vs Charlotte and Ronda & Rock/Angle vs Steph & Triple H

I think they're trying to give Nia as much protection as possible. Alexa will probably cost Nia the win against Asuka out of fear she would have to face her and Asuka at Mania, Asuka will then challenge Charlotte and Alexa's plan will blow up in her face.

Asuka will choose Charlotte, Nia gets Alexa as a consolation prize. Hopefully Carmella also unsuccessfully attempts her cash in on Asuka.
The bad part about Asuka's booking is that she has literally beaten everyone on the RAW women's roster already. So if she took the title from Alexa Bliss (who she already defeated) then who could make a case to challenge against her? At least this way, Charlotte will get a rematch and then we can move onto Naomi or whoever. Hopefully call ups after Mania.
But hey, if WWE made any sort of sense or logic then Drake Maverick would have just booked himself in the CW Title tournament and given himself a free pass to the finals as well so he'd get that Wrestlemania moment.

I'm just ready for asuka to finally lose. Absolutely hated her reign of terror in nxt, and I've hated her undefeated streak on raw continuing. They've literally had her defeat everyone, but expect fans to buy into the fact that "oh asuka might be in danger of losing tonight". Give me a break. I still think it Should have been Emma with a surprise upset on the first PPV, so that every asuka match isn't so predictable. Her matches are the piss break of Monday night raw.
The only interesting thing they could have done would have been Asuka vs Charlotte, when it seems they've decided against that.

I want it to be Nia vs Alexa at mania for the title, and have Nia win.
I also want it to be Asuka vs Charlotte, with Charlotte winning, and then Carmella chasing in.
Then Nikki Bella returns after mania to feud with Carmella over the title. And then we can finally get Nikki vs Charlotte!
