I heard there was someone on Twitter who was opening Green Card Hasbros. Does anyone have a link or Twitter handle? Need to see this!

Eurgh, i wouldnt watch it, it may encourage them to keep doing it, in my opinion, even though its his stuff, its wrong, he could sell the moc and buy a loose one and have money left over

Why not? I don't see a loss in opening a poor card. In my opinion it is even a gain to own a self-opened unplayed mint figure over an undisplayable poor card with a mint figure. Might even consider sending it to a grader and tell him to open it himself. Easy 90 grading. It's not always devalued.

I'll concede that it is in fact an owners choice, that said.. why? If you can get a mint or nearly mint loose green card figure, why open a MOC one?
MOC Green Card Hasbros are a finite resource. There is a legitimate day and time where the number of MOC Green Card Hasbros will dwindle to almost none left (save for the unopened ones in collections).
The more that get opened, the fewer and fewer there will be. Why destroy something so sought after and "precious?"
I know, to each their own, I just can't fathom why someone would do this, just for the "rise."
Then again, it's the internet and it's humanity. Getting a "rise" out of others, seems to be the goal of many.
Oi Vey.

Well that came across very aggressive, you only had to ask. In my opinion its wrong because they arent making anymore, there are less and less available to buy, if he wants a loose one, there are more loose than MOC, some people only collect MOC so if he doesnt, IN MY OPINION, he should pass it on to someone who does and he could buy a loose one. I did state in my opinion didnt i? Yes, i did, i didnt say he was wrong, i said IN MY OPINION.

There are more loose than MOC and yes, its his money, his figure, but if it was me, id sell the MOC one and buy a loose, AND have money leftover

people opening them makes the remaining moc figures more valuable. in a forum where members are all about having rare pieces in their collection, i figured there would be more encouragement over opening them up. dunno though, JUST MY OPINION

You are correct, the more that get opened, the more valuable the MOC ones become.
My issue and I believe it's the same sentiment others have as well, is, there's so few to begin with.. they're already valuable and expensive MOC.
The negligible increase in value doesn't even make it worth it, to basically destroy history.

I've been opening a lot of beat up cards lately, I like having a crisp mint figure when possible for my loose collection. Buying loose from others almost always disappoints me. I have two green card Gunns and a demolition 2-pack I plan to open around Christmas as a little present to myself.
A lot of the ones I've opened up have been on foreign cards and I swear the figure quality is not as good on those as the domestic English cards. I'm probably crazy but they feel different.

In 1996 at KB TOYS in Plainfield Indiana, I purchased a Green Card Adam Bomb..
Years later (2001 ish) I traded the loose figure to a family member for some other Hasbros, he eventually sold the Adam Bomb on that one auction site.
The buyer emailed back and asked if it was a custom or had been painted. Neither. Turns out the "yellow smoke" on Adam Bombs top was only coming down the figures right shoulder. The left shoulder didn't have the smoke.
Not sure if it was a 1 of 1 factory error? An issue with a low run / last run of the Green Card? Or maybe even a foreign made Hasbro?
Anyone else ever seen an Adam Bomb with this paint issue? Can't find pictures of one online and the only picture I have of me opening it that year, only shows the top corner of the back of the card. Bret Hart & LOD are displayed nicely in my picture... But that doesn't help here.
Anyone?

I watched his videos. It's awesome! Good for him! He is a loose collector and probably bought them carded to ensure them being mint.

Yeah I'd sure have a hard time opening up a purely mint green card but I will say I've opened up plenty of LJNs in recent years to have a mint loose collection, which I know some people will find to be insane ... but it's really hard to find LJNs without significant paint damage. So I can get it on some levels. It's still pretty wild, lol.

My initial question was just asking to see it -- I wasn't trying to start a debate. Not one person has responded with a link to the video. Can someone help?

I had a hard enough time opening the Retros to start my loose collection to go with the MOC collection - after 20+ years of collecting MOC Hasbros, obsessing over the condition of the cards and how they were displayed/stored, etc., it was very strange for me to open figures like them on cards designed like them The idea of opening actual Hasbros at this point - especially green cards - is something I can't even bring myself to watch. But it's his stuff, he can do what he wants with it - unless he's just doing it to try to get a rise out of people, in which case he can -off
