Nobody knows. Could be a simple name change like how it went from Then, Now & Forever to Flashbacks or Hall of Fame to Hall of Champions...But Bill flat out said they werent cancelled and they were doing something different. I feel like they're doing the same lines just swapping up names to keep things "fresh" and to throw off retailers from not wanting to order things. The Hogan/Tito fiasco might have turned Target off on ordering more HOF figures but by switching it to HOC, you get a new name plus you can add different names to it. Its all a marketing ploy. The something different is the chase figures from what i gather I took it to mean the store exclusive figures but I guess it could be the chase figures as well

You’re preaching to the choir, friend Quoted the wrong post, brother. I do agree that Big Bossman would sell more than Hercules or Greg Valentine, but considering the TRU Network Bossman was a shelfwarmer, Id hate to see how bad those 2 would rot. As bad as those SummerSlam Rollins & Ambrose's that are still at all 3 of my Walmart clearance sections??

Too bad we can’t actually make that comparison. We don’t have to. Boss Man would obviously sell more Too bad we can’t actually make that comparison.

Let’s see, a bright blue cop or swat guy, who was around until 2002, or a guy with a shin guy and a guy with a chain, that were both gone by 1992. Keep ignoring the reality that Greg Valentine & Hercules would rot compared to Boss Man if it helps you sleep at night.

It’s a loosing battle my friend. Flashback collectors are second class citizens to Mattel. Of course they are. There’s more people buying current figures than flashbacks. They go where the money is that because they kill collecting for flashback fans. a flashback here and there is not collecting, its getting a fig every now and then. when current figs are pumped at a racers pace, fans have a reason to collect and something to collect and enjoy collecting/buying/hunting. they tried legends ages ago when there was no market. there has been a market for them now, but just as it got going they have all kinds of weird distribution issues and regulate flashbacks to walmart.

And what’s a “guy with a shin guy”? You know what? Let’s end this. I feel like you want to fight over toys. I’m not a child. I don’t fight with kids.

I think us Flashback/Legends collectors are a very small part of the overall market these days... it's kind of proven by the way a lot of FB figures shelf-warm - and the fact that these HOF/HOC/Flashback type of lines keep being changed and cancelled all the time. I'd like them to keep Flashbacks in the main line (1 or 2 per series), but primarily make them A-listers (like Sting and Foley in E62), as they always seem to sell well. Then for any 1st time or more obscure FBs (eg. Sherri and Backlund*), make them 1 in every 3-4 cases (but NOT exclusive to any store)... that way, everyone has a chance of getting them - and they shouldn't hang around/shelf-warm. (*Sherri and Backlund, although very well known to us long-term/hardcore fans, are not figures that the casual/current fan would know or be interested in) but thats how mattel kinda killed the sales for us flashback fans. how many frikin macho's and warriors are we to collect. its like always releasing a he-man or skelator but never getting a beast man or man at arms. they made collecting flashbacks/legends kinda suck, it takes forever to get a new, and constant repaints. thats not collecting what your saying. thats getting a fig, most likely a repaint since all a listers are made, every now and then. which is what is has been and totally turns me off on collecting/buying. i dont buy current figs, so they are just losing money us flashbakc fans would spend if they did a flashback series right. then they say flashbacks dont sell as well. DUH! how about a line we can actually collect, look fowrad too, be excited about, wonder whos next in each series, and MOST IMPRORTANT keep making NEW figs we dont have. that may mean having a meeting with wwe and saying hey look, can we maybe do these particular legends and ask about a giant list. not just submit a request, get a no and say we dont have the rights. and the other key, dont over mass produce the flashback line so they dont rot on shelves. 1-2 cases per store at most. or maybe just sell the line on RSC and at walmart only. they everyone knows where thay are and where to get em. 1 store and 1 place online.

I think everyone should chill a bit, Mattel release figures of those characters that sell, if flashbacks arent selling, and no offence, some members on a chat forum have no idea about sales, they will scale them back, they cant just make figures of super obscure characters, they wouldnt sell in sufficient numbers, Mattel know what sells, we might disagree, but, we arent a multi billion dollar, worldwide toy maker, they are

The one thing with Jakks is that they weren't expensive (or I don't think they were). At least in the UK does anyone know how much a Classic Superstar was? Because I can't imagine it was £20 which is a lot for someone they may of never heard of or even seen.
