I went to TLC last night and just wanted to share a few things:
- The crowd was much more subdued than usual, especially for a PPV. I'm not sure if it had to do with exhaustion at the end of the year, end of the weekend, weather (rainy), or if I'm just getting older. The crowd was less rowdy and noisy before the show.
- Hardly any signs, I guess today's kids can't break for 5 minutes from their phones to make a sign. I'm not complaining because my view wasn't blocked!
- Rousey interfering in the main event was the perfect set-up for whatever is down the road. I love that she cost Charlotte the match with Becky being a casualty in the process. Seems like this will immediately lead to Charlotte vs. Ronda for the Rumble and either Ronda/Becky or Ronda/Becky/Charlotte for WM.
- Lots of "this is boring" chants for Rollins/Ambrose match. I hate how they left the top 3 matches for the end of the show. Wished they had evenly distributed them through the night with 12 matches.
- Strowman's match was such a waste of a TLC match. Really wished they gave the stip to Styles/Bryan or Rollins/Ambrose. I understand why they may have not, to emphasize the women's main event, but still, if it went on during the first half of the show it wouldn't have taken anything away from the women.
- A decent amount of people left after Rollins/Ambrose. Many had little kids, but it still wasn't even late. West coast time is early for televised shows. Maybe they just didn't care to stay for the women? The show did feel VERY long.
- Cruiserweight match was really good, I'd recommend it if you didn't see the pre-show. Wish Cedric was on the main roster rather than 205L.
- I was a bit let down with Orton/Mysterio. Orton neither posed on the ropes nor gave an RKO, so that just felt a bit underwhelming. I realize these guys are both old, and it was weird to see such a match on the card when it felt like going back 12 years in time, wow!
- I want to go to Raw tonight but am scheduled at work till 4PM and it would take me a good 1.5-2 hours to get over there so I'll just try to make it next time.
- Overall it was a fun show. I hadn't gone to a WWE show since WM week.
