I have not watched an episode of Monday Night Raw since probably 2001. They kinda lost me after WCW went under, Taker went biker, Austin got sidelined, and DX/NAO broke up. Today's current product is nearly unwatchable. I do still watch classic content from the 80s/90s though in chronological order, which has been a real treat - especially being able to see every PPV that we could not afford when I was growing up! When I see the current product, I become super uncomfortable - it's cringey, over-produced, and forgettable. Except for Seth Rollins - love that guy! And Daniel Bryan seems like a good dude. I wanted to like Roman but WWE pushed him on us way too hard. From 2001 to 2014, I never saw a single PPV or other show. Since the network launched, I've had most Wrestlemanias on in the background, a few Summerslams, etc. The irony, though, is my figure collection has never been larger. I definitely got into the Jakks classic line, but it was during college and hard to collect at the time. Now that I'm a bit older, I have more freedom. But so far all Mattel/Jakks purchases have been limited to flashbacks/classics except for a couple Seth Rollins figures.

I can't stay awake for most of Raw anymore it seems. Which is a shame, because I remember when I used to actually look forward to Monday nights in High School-early college years to watch Raw (and Nitro on replay) BUT the one thing WWE seems to get right is getting it's classic content out there through DVDs,the network, and licensing of amazing action figures (we're just going through a tough time with flashbacks themed figures at the moment. I think we'll get more again) So the one thing WWE IS doing right is getting their classic material out there whether it be the network or DVD. And the DVD's always seem to sell EXTREMELY well.

100% agree. That’s why I stopped collecting this year. I kept buying thinking it was a down cycle. Any new stars that came on board I would miss and be kissed when I came back around to wrestling. Finally through the towel in as I don’t see wrestling ever going back to what I really enjoyed. Based on Fox deal and publicly traded company I don’t ever see an edge coming back. I thought with the network we might get a rated r live program but it’s been a few years and they’re just not going to go back there.
I did buy the flashback Angle, the Dude Love and want to get 5e shinsuke with replaceable hands. I also bought some Hardy’s to have them in the Mattel collection. I’ll always buy Bret Hart and HBK, and select flashbacks, want that velveteen dream. But even my display went from all to about 50. I do check this site out once a week or so.
i didnt save save any money by the way, just transferred to the Marvel legends figures.

I definitely don’t keep up with the regular shows!! I mainly watch the PPV’s and buy only the figures I like. NXT is better than Raw and Smackdown!! I didn’t even know about the Undisputed Era until the figures came out!! They are my favorite faction right now!! But buy the time I was about to purchase them RSC sold out!! Dang it!!

Kind of, because the actual wrestling now reminds me of the reason I stopped watching in the late 90s early 2000s, the attitude era was why I stopped watching, and currently I feel its going that way, so I dont really watch wait , you think the current product is going towards attitude?? lol that's the funniest thing ive heard in a long time.....

I watch it but it isn't very good to me. I always watch it on delay to fast-forward through a lot. If it wasn't for Seth and AJ, I question if I'd be watching at all. There isn't even a really good heel on either show. (Owens is worth mentioning but he looks like crap and isn't very believable as a tough guy.) But I quit watching altogether from 2000 to basically, a couple of years ago so I'm TRYING to get into it.
I enjoy the network for the classics. WWE is trying to make today's product into something that I don't desire. They want this socially aware, trendy product that tries to please the masses, not wrestling fans like me. I want to be taken out of current news cycles when I watch. While I admire the causes that they champion, i.e. cancer survivors, etc. To me, that removes the product from the fantasy I would prefer like it was in the old days.
Lately I'm rewatching 97 and onward chronologically. There's a lot of things to be critical of concerning the current product but to me what really made watching enjoyable for the Attitude era was JR and King. I have really noticed how terrific they are on commentary. Now compare that to what they have today. The current announce teams are absolutely terrible. I can't stand them - they do nothing to enhance the product. I think the guys that do NXT are actually better. And that's just one thing, haha.
So yes, I like collecting the figures more but I've always been a huge nerd for these.

Believe it or not, I think that the actual in ring action is probably better today then it was back then, but the stories were so good that nobody cared! When you think about it, the classic eras are not really remembered as much for the matches, outside of a few, but more the moments. People forget that apart from NXT, WWE has never been about the wrestling. It's always been about the characters. And until recently, that always worked. Unfortunately, the writing just is not good enough these days, which is why more people are finally noticing the indies more than ever before, where they just completely blow WWE away as far as in ring product.
...But the figures are still better than ever! So yeah, lol

I watched wrestling from 1985 until early 2000 and I haven’t watched since except the first three years of wwe network when I basically rewatched everything from those years. I pay absolutely zero attention to wwe. Just flashback action figures for me Same here, I watched till about 2005. I don’t pay any attention to it anymore. I collect the Classic Figures and watch Classic WwF and wCw from time to time on YouTube or buy the DVDS if it’s a collection or bio on a Classic Superstar I liked. Last one I bought was The “unreleased unseen matches” they did on Randy Savage.

Just like all you, I can’t stand the new stuff. I checked out around mid 90’s, and only watch the network for classic content. My figure collection started with Galoobs/ Hasbro/ LJN and paused for several years, then started back with Mattel a few years ago, trying to mimic that roster, but kept branching out to more from that era! I’m old and my son got into the modern stuff for a few years to connect with me, and we’d watch PPV together, but we were just disappointed way too many times, so he lost interest. My dad and granddad were the ones that got me into wrestling, but they both stopped watching before I did, when promos were more prevalent than in ring, I found myself feeling the same way years after. Don’t get me wrong, I love the good story line, but it’s suppose to be wrestling...today the story doesn’t do it for me, or the in ring, sure some of the stuff they can do is amazing, but I just don’t “feel” it, not just rehearsed, just fake. At least in my day, it was rehearsed, but it wasn’t fake it was real. I believed it, because they believed it. It might have been a show, but it was real in heart. That’s what we all are missing. Much love and Merry Christmas!

I've been a wrestling fan since I can remember. I keep up with the current product but don't necessarily watch. I'm always watching old stuff though.

I watch it with my thumb glued to the fast forward button. It's awful. I hate what wrestling has become. I'll take great characters and stories over "great" matches any day. What's so great about kicking out of finishes and jumping and flipping? It sucks.

Now that I’ve gotten a real job and don’t get a ton of free time, I watch the product a lot less. I keep up with what’s going on and watch the pay per views, but I have no idea the last time I actually sat down and watched Raw or SD.

What's so great about kicking out of finishes and jumping and flipping? It sucks. It's all so cookie cutter, from the matches to the stories. Athletically, the talent today is lightyears ahead of where most wrestlers were 15-20 years ago. But most matches lack even basic psychology - wearing down a body part, heels bending the rules to their advantage, building intensity throughout the match to tell a story. It's just a sequence of spots thrown together, and the suspension of belief is just too much for me. It seems like every single wrestler does a suicide dive. But most of them look like garbage. Same with the top rope dive to the outside, where a crowd of wrestlers patiently wait for 5 seconds staring at the person in the ring until they are in position. The "WWE style" just makes nearly every wrestler feel the same in and out of the ring. With that said, I think executed well the modern style can be amazing. The Almas/Gargano and Revival/DIY matches in NXT over the last couple of years had me legitimately on the edge of my seat in suspense. And the recent series of Flair/Becky Lynch matches were right up there for me as well. But that's like a couple of diamonds in a landfill of matches that all feel like carbon copies.

I’ve purchased 155+ figs this year.
I barely watch Raw/SD but I’ve watched all the ppvs since Summerslam.
The figures are what got me back into WWE.

I think you could replace any wrestler with any other wrestler and the match would be the same. When I was growing up every wrestler had a distinctive style which was great. And you are spot on about story-telling and psychology of yesteryears and that today is all about the high spots.

I'm so down/disinterested in the current product that I've been seriously contemplating selling off all of my current-day figures -- so like 200-250 probably. Someone talk me out of this, lol ...
