Yes! The greatest free agent is set to debut in AEW. Hopefully his debut won't be delayed like it was in WCW

Wasn't he already in the mix due to the partnership with his company?

Allegedly AEW's deal with TNT is a time buy. Like what TNA did with Fox Sports. If that's true I think that might take some of the mystique away from them. But hopefully it leads to something more lucrative later on.
Assuming this is true, of course.

But hopefully it leads to something more lucrative later on. Assuming this is true, of course. Id believe it. I mean lets be honest, other than Chris Jericho, who does AEW have that TV execs would look at and say "Hm, i like that, here's 2 hours on TNT". Kenny Omega is semi known big, but still the majority of the casuals won't know who he is. I hope they do good on TNT, but i wish people would be more honest with themselves about what AEW is going to be in the longrun. I'm not even going to say them buying a timeslot on TNT is a bad thing. ECW used to do it back in the day, like you mentioned, TNA bought their timeslot on FSN. Its normal. Its the only way they would have had a decent network to air the show. People are going to say, "Oh know thats bulls***, the owners know network execs and got the deal through connections. No way they bought their TV deal while WWE got billion dollar deals networks paid for". I believe they bought their deal, and there's nothing wrong with that.

To me it's somewhat inconsequential whether it is or isn't a time buy. TNA, ECW, and UFC have all used time buys. And a large chunk of WWE's early 90's programming (basically all the weekend shows) were time buys. Time buy doesn't mean necessarily not making a profit. And if a major network is willing to do a time buy in prime time with AEW, that's not a bad thing. They network could always say no, and they aren't going to stick a show into a prime time slot, time buy or not, that they think will sink viewership. So there has to be some degree of confidence there...we aren't talking about the local access cable station's 2am slot here.
Ultimately eyes on the product and building a viewer base is what matters. They have a significant war chest, and they may believe that the added value of exposure and building a customer base will net them longterm positives that outweigh the short term costs.
At the end of the day this is all a lot of noise until there are actual shows on actual tv's.

Dustin Rhodes is a good get by AEW.Along with Chris Jericho give AEW two well know stars all be it in their twilight of their careers but two guys that can still go bell to bell in the ring and are more then willing to put over younger talent.Glad that Dustin made the jump before it was to late, don't know how much longer that he's going to wrestle but from the looks of it AEW will be using him a hell of a lot better then WWE has in the last five or six years.
Jericho,Omega,Cody,Dustin,PAC,Page,Lucha Bros,Young Bucks...ect that's a pretty solid line up of guys for a debut promotion that are well know talents to the vast majority of wrestling fans.

I’m excited to see that match. WWE left us hanging with that feud. It obviously means more now.
I’m guessing Dustin is headed backstage for AEW afterwards.

CM Punk has wrestled a couple Indy shows under a mask , things to come ? A couple? All I saw was a video of a masked man hitting someone with a terrible GTS as a run-in. Anything is possible, but until proven otherwise I’m not buying it. Believe me, I’d love for him to come back in a serious manner, but I’m not buying it from the clip I saw.

Punk showed at a small indy where he used to wrestle doing a masked run-in to help the guy that trained him in wrestling, probably as a favor to a friend. Very cool moment, but I'm not going to read anything into it beyond that.
If Punk never wrestles another match, he's more than earned that right. But with this and some of his recent online posts, it seems like he's not as outright bitter towards wrestling as a whole as he had been over the last few years. And that makes me happy for Phil Brooks as a person. He seemed to genuinely love pro wrestling, and it must be pretty miserable to have a professional experience so bad that it totally kills that passion for the whole industry.

it’s great that we’re getting Rhodes vs Rhodes right off the bat: a match that wwe denied us of despite teasing it a couple times.

www.itv.com/news/2019-05-08/itv-announces-major-wrestling-event-for-itv-box-office/Absolutely HUGE news for AEW concerning it's UK audience. ITV is the second biggest broadcaster in the UK. Practically everyone in the country watches at least something on the BBC or ITV. Not even WWE has a partnership with either of the big two. To watch WWE in the UK, you have to buy a Sky box or a Virgin Media box and pay for their sports package to gain access to Sky Sports. If AEW weekly TV is broadcast in the UK on ITV, that will be huge and get a LOT of eyes on the company.
