Arn Anderson might be coming back for one more match...against Tosh0. Arn is on the short list of guys who I wish would have had one more big return match. Not sure if his body would have been up to it, and there's no way WCW could have told an effective story around it. But still a cool "what if." He was only 39 when he retired. And yes, Arn technically had a couple of 2 minute throwaway matches with David Flair, but those don't count in my mind.

Arn Anderson might be coming back for one more match...against Tosh0. That man has also been so believable on the mic, excellent promo! Seeing Arn and Tully like this again is wrestling magic.

Impact had that problem too with some guys. Isn't Khan worth billions upon billions? Get the rights to some actual tracks for the top guys on lengthy contracts. Give Mox Kickstart My Heart, give the Young Bucks Mmmbop or whatever. Just something that makes you realize that these guys are big deals. Mox needs to return to "sh*tlist" by L7. I used to pop so hard when he would come out in CZW. I also hate his beard so much. Wish he'd go back to being a douche bag jock that was a little psychotic instead of a edgy chippendale with a beard

The music in AEW is god awful, all the songs are just very generic with the exception of Lucha Bros and Private Party.

I actually like Moxโs theme, though I agree that overall the music is poor.
Another great episode for AEW. Mox is proving every week that Vince messed up big time with him. His matches have been top notch and heโs easily the best promo guy in the business right now. AEW would be smart to have him be the one to beat Jericho for the title.

I hope they at least reached out to Jim Johnston or he's interested in working with them. Or at least find someone who's the next coming of him in some form. Good to great theme music/entrances plays a much bigger part than people realize sometimes with creating larger than life stars.

Really thought Fenix vs Nick was off the charts. It's great stylistically to have two guys go full tilt to open the show, and then on the same show have your main event be a guy like Mox who is just going to grind it out. It keeps the show feeling different from match-to-match and that's something I think WWE really struggles with weekly. It's the Nitro format but on speed. I think AEW is meticulous on card structure for these shows in an effort to create balanced variety.
Loved Jericho's promo with Scorpio. It didn't reach that place the MJF promo did last week but it was still awesome, and a great shotgun build for the title match.
Thought the battle royal was entertaining, too. Particularly the Billy Gunn stuff had me laughing. Smart choice to use MJF for those eliminations. You can pull cliche wrestling moves if you're doing it with the right guy(s). MJF vs Hangman should be great. I like Wardlow with MJF in the Diesel role. It gives MJF even more flexibility to run his mouth unabashed.
Kenny Omega might have the strongest benchpress in all of wrestling. Word Life.

It wasn't my favorite episode, but it may be the best balanced. The card was strong, good promo segments, two killer matches to open and close the show, what may have been my favorite AEW womens match. The battle royal and tag match felt a little flat for me, but overall it was another quality show.

I feel like we have very similar tastes in wrestling, for what feels like the 100th time I 100% agree. That Jericho promo had me in tears laughing again. I forget who, but someone in the company or around the company was saying that in a year's time we would be all in on the Dark Order (and they were well aware of it's poor reception), and I'm starting to believe that person is correct. That promo was awesome, and they've grown on me every week.

Quarter hour breakdowns for AWE are pretty interesting. They lost 200k viewers from the Jericho segment to the tag match. A few possible causes in my mind - the Luchasaurus squash match, the multiple commercial breaks in the tag match, or two teams who aren't totally established with a national audience.
Hopefully they can learn from it and improve.

Yeah, forgot to mention the Dark Order vignette. Thought that was fantastic. That, to me, is what listening to criticism and making adjustments looks like. That added more depth to those guys than a hundred matches could've done for them. I'd like to see those sporadically continue. It was just like an E Corp commercial from Mr. Robot.
The tag match wasn't great imo. I think they had a really clunky match, but it had a great finish. Private Party matches are kind of going to be that way until they get some more experience if I were to guess. They struggled with timing in the Lucha Bros match, too. I'm not sure if they're nervous or if it's just out right inexperience, but they're definitely the least polished team in the division. That's ok though, imo. I think watching talent like PP, Jurassic XPS, their young women's division, grow is part of the benefit of AEW. It's not going to be perfect but we're going to go on a career journey with a lot of these characters.

i found that battle royal to be a mess. otherwise, another fun show but the timing did seem more off than other episodes.

I am totally a fan of this guy, he just looks silly and has great mic skills. A natural heel as well. They need to find a good spot for him in the roster and stop making him a jobber. Hopefully AEW will eventually introduce a midcard belt and throw it on the librarian for awhile
