I thought this was the worst episode and making me concerned for AEW. I am rooting for them, have watched every single episode, but NXT was a far better show this week.
I enjoy a lot of the comedy stuff that they do in AEW, but every time the crowd was popping and laughing in the battle royal MJF just throws the guy out...
It's getting really old for me already. I get it that Rhodes and creative love MJF, but feel like they are shoving him down our throats at this point.
Hate to say it, but I am already feeling like they are a bit out of touch with what the crowd enjoys, whereas NXT has been can't miss lately.
Don't think I am the only one thinking this either, because NXT is starting to edge them out in the ratings. Hope AEW comes back strong next week.

I respect your thoughts, but that MJF comment is surprising to me. It seems like the heads are calling for more MJF, not just promos either, because some think true heels have vanished, and I felt that was the point of tossing specific people out, and that JB sneak attack at the end. I have heard people calling him the next superstar, for lack of a better term.

I think everyone hoping for more from Avalon will be pleasantly suprised. I get the feeling they are getting ready to break him away from Leva. They've been kind of sowing some discontent between the two lately, and with Avalon being bullied by Jericho, etc. I could definitely see Avalon being the first to #joindarkorder.

That would be an awesome move

Honestly I don’t think there’s too much of a difference between their best episode and worst episode so far. I’m not even sure what shows I’d rank as best and worst. For me, they’ve all been good to great shows. All very enjoyable, to say the least. Having AEW and NXT on Wednesday’s (and for me watch them Thursday) has been such a treat, and I think for a lot of people it’s showing even more how un-enjoyable Raw and SD can be at times.

This is what has been so special for me. Every week I enjoy myself, and every week I feel like I'm watching something that's very sustainable, and they've been really good about not trying to one-up themselves, but rather just put out a consistently strong program.

I haven't watched weekly wrestling in a few years now, but I'll be damned if this renaissance of NXT, AEW, and NWA hasn't gotten me back into it. Raw and Smackdown though? I have zero interest in either show. I pop in and watch the threads here, and I don't feel like I'm missing a thing.

Gonna be at Dynamite live tonight. The card has some PPV worthy matches in Omega/PAC and MJF/Hangman. Should be a good show.

I haven’t watched a full smack down or raw since after wrestlemania. I gave it a go a few times, but I can’t be troubled with trying to watch it for the sake of watching it when there’s zero entertainment value for me.
excited for tonight’s episode!

Was there live tonight and the crowd was crazy hot. Jericho and Mox are by far their biggest stars at the moment. Mox’s short appearance at the end was great, and he kept the crowd riled up for a bit after the show went off the air by attacking “production crew” after Jericho ran away.
Omega/PAC was great, and MJF is their future top heel. He just has “IT” when it comes to drawing heat.
If there’s a negative, the two tag matches after the opening segment really slowed the show down and the crowd seemed to loose some momentum. However, the second hour was great stuff.
And the best moment was my friend and I at the concession stand and running into Jericho’s dad. The guy was getting a beer and hot dog, and we got to say hi to him quick.

I'll be at Dynamite this upcoming week in Campaign Illinois. Glad that they announced Dustin Rhodes is wrestling. Really look forward to that.

"Freddie Mercury never looked so oriental" - JR
man looking at the womens ranking really shows their lack of depth or direction with em. The top 5 contenders for Riho are all people she has beat multiple times besides Allie. I dont need to see Riho fight Baker, Emi, or Hikaru unless they build up a fued or something.
Also between the Pharoah stuff and this goat segment they really need to stop doing things with animals, none of them ever want to be out there.

Keep them far away...way too scary for them. But, one animal can still be involved...Bernard the Business Bear.

I’m still shocked that they arn’t pushing Brit Baker harder. I get that they want to push some new names but right now she’s comes off as the most marketable women they have at the moment. I think this is an instance where they need to put the title on their top female to help give the division some legitimacy.

I'd agree with putting the belt on Baker and having her feud with Shida for a while.
I think they're running into the same problem WWE has with their women. No gimmicks or really weak gimmicks. Kong= Brandi's bodyguard or something Brandi= Evil corporate bitch I guess Leva= librarian. The one true, actual gimmick Britt= dentist, but it's not "really" her gimmick, they just play up that she IS a dentist. Sakura= dresses like Freddie Mercury Shida= Japanese Riho= skilled underdog I guess? Allie= Dark Bunny again? Bea Priestley= Paige? Penelope= Kip Sabian's girlfriend Sadie Gibbs= blonde and strong Shanna= French Big Swole= neither big nor swole, so I guess we're going for irony? Shazza= blonde Statlander= ?? Jamie Hayter= mocks people
They just really don't have much to work with. Even the women that are kind of ok aren't really all that great. Some definitely have potential, but I wonder if they wouldn't benefit greatly from some sort of performance center like NXT has.

I'm gonna go ahead and play devil's advocate here, you can do this same thing with the guys: Young bucks -- like to kick people Hangman Page -- Cowboy S*** MJF -- Giant a**hole Jericho -- GOAT Hager -- A tree TH2 & Kip -- Douchebags Lucha Bros -- Spanish Sign Language etc, etc. I don't get everyone wanting to take the belt off Riho. Am I the only one hearing how loud the crowd is for Riho and how much they like her?

Am I the only one hearing how loud the crowd is for Riho and how much they like her? Not referring to her nationality, I'm referring to this: She even puts her hand inside the coat in a similar fashion when she comes out. I don't disagree that in 2019 a lot of men are all doing the "tough guy wearing black gimmick", but it's almost as though women aren't allowed to be unique or portray characters. I'd wager a lot of casuals probably couldn't tell the difference between Shazza, Shanna, Sadie, and Penelope. I also don't dislike Riho, but they've painted her into a corner by being a giant killer that barely ever loses...WHILE defeating all her top competition handily multiple times. It would be akin to putting the strap on Marko Stunt and then having him tear through the roster. It's not believable, nor is it sustainable. Who's going to unseat her? Green as beast crap Nyla? Ugh. You know what, hug it. Keep the belt on her forever then.

Hand thing is not a French thing either. The Napoleon specific part is a nod to her trainer judging by her Twitter.
Just because riho beats someone doesn't mean they can't beat her in the future. Reason League finals typically play best of 7. They've booked her super strong for sure, but she's only had the belt for like two months and the size of the division keeps growing
