Have to say I like his finisher. It’s like a throwback to a past era.

Have to say I like his finisher. It’s like a throwback to a past era. Its a move Ric Flair does in all his matches but never pins anybody after it.

Smokin' GunnsThese cowboy ''brothers'' Billy and Bart would ride their way into the Federation during the Spring of 93.The tag division during this time wasnt the greatest to say the least so they were pushed quickly to #2 face team behind the Steiners. They would team with em at KOTR that year in a winning effort over Money Inc and the Headshrinkers.Their PPV success would continue as at SSlam they would team with Tatanka(Cowboys and Indians coexisting??!!) as they defeated Bam Bam and the Headshrinkers.By the Fall they stated some downtime as they did nothing of note. They each would have a short run in the Rumble and were supposed to be in a big 10 man tag at Mania X before it was axed due to time. Again for majority of 94 they were just there basically in the tag ranks. It wasnt till SSeries that year(first PPV appearance in well over a year I might add) that they would be on ''Guts and Glory'' as they would lose to the $$$ team.95 would start a new time for em though as after a brief injury that kept em out of the Tag Title tourney, they would win the belts right after the Rumble from 123 Kid and Bob Holly. This reign wouldnt last long however as at WM XI they would lose to the newly formed team of Owen Hart and Yokozuna. They would try to get em back at the first IYH but were unsuccessful. It wouldnt be till October which they would get the gold back. Great pop here on Raw when they did. This 2nd reign would last until February 96 when Billy went down with an injury with the titles being held up. Bart would have to swing solo after this with the most notable loss being against Mankind that Spring. They would get back together at IYH that Mat with them defeating the Godwinns for the belts after Billy planted a big kiss on Sunny. This would lead to a heel turn. From there it was the Summer of the Gunns as they feuded with both Godwinns and Body Donnas. Def not a good time for tag wrestling in the WWF.They would lose the belts for the final time at Mind Games to Bulldog/Owen with Sunny leaving em in the process. This would signal the end... After losing again at Buried Alive, the team would implode not long after and we would get a little feud that would last till December. They would meet on Raw with the match ending abruptly due to a stinger on Billy's part. This would officially end the Gunns run. Billy would take some time off before being repackaged as ''Rockabilly'' and Bart would continue the cowboy gimmick for lil bit more mostly in the jobber role. Overall...Perfect team for the era but I wasnt a fan.Their ''sidewinder'' finisher though was cool I''ll give em that. What are your memories of the Gunns? Share em below!

Agree with you that I wasn’t a fan either. I think it was the cowboy gimmick that was off putting for me.
Wasn’t the greatest era for tag wrestling, even though there was some real talent kicking around at the time. A hidden gem (imo) v Heavenly Bodies 10/10/93. Would love to find their match v Southern Rockers as well in USWA.
Dungeon of Doom for my vote for next write up please.

''Iron'' Mike Sharpe''Canada's Greatest Athlete'' would make his way into the Federation in early 1983.The trend continues here with Mike getting a push albeit brief one outta the gate when he would defeat ham n eggers after hitting em with his loaded forearm. That Spring in Philly at the Spectrum he would challenge then champ Bob Backlund in a losing effort. All downhill for ol' Mike after this one.For the next 11/12 years he would be the premier jobber in the company.Wrestling all the names of the eras here. All the while screaming ''No No No!!'' in all of em.He would also team up with other jobbers in tag bouts in again losing efforts. Following his departure in 95, he would continue on in the indy scene up until 97. I recall one indy show in which he fought Bundy and man did they pipe in the crowd noise. Forget the name of the show now though. Anyway he would have his own wrestling school for a bit after retirement in Jersey.Other than that,He mostly lived a private life before passing away in 2016 in his early 60s. Overall...No doubt one of the best(and loudest) jobbers of all time.I always liked how he'd get all mad at the crowd and would feign going back to the locker room. He was great at playing it up.I also wanna shout out his early work in Canada and Mid-South.Long forgotten for sure since his WWF jobber run is what most remember about em and with good reason. Crazy to think how long he lasted in this role.Backlund,Hogan and New Gen eras all represented. Impressive. What are your memories of Iron Mike Sharpe? Share em below!

I don't remember much about him. Really surprised he last in the WWF until 1995, I don't remember him past 1990.

I never got the manlove many people have for the Smoking Gunns here. They were just the top of a mediocre crop of tag teams during that time. WCW had the best tag team action during their time on top with the Hollywood Blonds, Stars and Stripes, Pretty Wonderful, Harlem Heat, etc.
How many Iron Mikes are there in wrestling?
