Thank you for the write up. I always thought that Rasta was Ahmed Johnson. Then again, I think numbers have colors.
My next vote is for the Alpha Male, Monty Brown!

Charles Wright got the idea for Papa Shango from Rasta Voodoo Mon when he was wrestling in GWF at the same time as Soultaker. I remember one match where he was wrestling The Handsome Stranger/Marcus Bagwell, Stranger had a stomach ache all of a sudden, fell off the top turnbuckle and got pinned, LOL. I think the guy ended up starring in some deodorant commercials.

Fascinating character. Cant say I’ve heard of him before but one of the things I love about this forum is the wealth of knowledge and discovering new things.
Would you consider covering promotions in this thread? If so my vote would be for Joel Goodharts Tri-State wrestling.
If not I’d vote for Tornado as well.

I personally wanna stick to the wrestlers but I'm not opposed to it if you humanoids are interested At the very least a defunct promotion thread could be something I could tackle sometime in the future

Texas TornadoThe WWF was in a for whirlwind when the Tornado touched down during the Summer of 1990.He would get a strong push out the gate with him replacing Brutus Beefcake in the IC Title match against Mr. Perfect at SSlam. He would win the gold at the Spectrum to a massive POP.Helluva moment here with it looking like the start of a one great run. That Fall he would still continue his feud with Perfect with the latter failing to win the gold back on house shows. At SSeries Tornado would team with the Ultimate Warrior and the Road Warriors(such a fitting team) as they battled Perfect and Demolition. In the end Warrior would be the soul survivor. That December on Superstars Tornado would once again be challenged by Perfect for the gold but this time would be different as Ted DiBiase would be the guest ring announcer. He would also play a big factor in the finish as he would cost the TX native. This would start a feud between the two heading into 1991 but it went nowhere in the end as the focus was more on Dibiase's feud with the Rhodes family. He would enter the Rumble and would have a decent run in there before being eliminated by the Undertaker. At WM VII he would take on and defeat Dino Bravo in a short throwaway match. He was losing steam really quickly by this point. The Spring and Summer of 91 was really quiet for ol' KVE.He was basically there with nothing going on.His next PPV win would come at SSlam at MSG in the opener when he teamed with Davey Boy and The Dragon as they defeated P n G and the Warlord. By the Fall of 91 he was on his last legs as when he wasnt defeating ham n eggers on Superstars/Challenge he was being used more in the put over role.Big one that comes to mind is losing to Taker prior to SSeries in short fashion. He would get one more PPV at SSeries itself as he would team with Duggan,Sarge, and El Matador as they clean swept the team of Col. Mustafa,Berzerker,Herclues and Skinner. He would partake in the Rumble which would be his final PPV appearance with him only lasting about 10 mins before being eliminated by old foe Ric Flair. For the remainder of the year he was pretty much done with nothing of note going on. He was advertised early on to face Papa Shango at SSlam in Wembley but that was quickly axed.He would be released shortly after. Overall...Helluva start to this run here with him winning the IC belt in Philly.Shame it all came crumbling down pretty quickly due to his demons. So much potential here if he had his head straight which is the story of KVEs career. What are your memories of the Texas Tornado? Share em below!

Big fan of the Texas Tornado. Like The Brain said, he had a great start, but it faded quickly. I think the feud between him and DiBiase could have been good, but it went nowhere. I think they had a blow-off match in the spring on one of the VHS tapes, but I don't remember the feud getting much mention on TV after the initial start. By that time, the Virgil/DiBiase feud was in full swing. It's a shame that Kerry couldn't get past his demons, I think he could have been a huge star in the WWF.

Yeah he came out for the save when Dustin Rhodes was being attacked by DiBiase on the BL show but after that the feud faded besides the CV match you mentioned Shame he just couldnt get it together in the end
