I never thought hunting could for Elites could get that intense lmao Glad you wound up gettin your Dunne. \m/ You can ask any of us 3 that were there, it was intense. 4 hours was by far the longest I’ve ever waited, but knowing that the Target down the street had gotten Elite 64 a couple of days prior, I was willing to wait it out to finally get that Pete Dunne. Especially when Bill and I agreed that I wasn’t going to be greedy and go after the NXT Elites... this time. Haha

A 5 year old kid doesn't need an Aleister Black figure. I need an Aleister Black figure. Why would a 5 year old kid even know who Black is to begin with? My 6 yr old laughs at y’all lol. So to u a kid doesn’t know who he is, and doesn’t deserve one right? But my kid watches nxt and goes to nxt events every month here in Fl... he knows who Aleister Black is and loves him. The fact that his background on his tablet is him is enough for me to say he really likes him. BTW he’s got a Aleister Black figure, where’s yours?? How U doin!?!?! Cool story, bro. And yeah, you're right, I don't have an Aleister Black figure - I'm screwed out of getting one, 'cos I happen to live in England.

I honestly hope there’s no sick child. I hope there’s no sick child, but I also hope someone wouldn’t make up such a story for an action figure... or anything for that matter.

I just hope I come across someone trying to help a fellow collector. There's no Target where I live

Would the 5 year old even remember a guy like aleister black anyways ? I mean without social media the wwe network and this past week of raw/sd how can get access to know black Amway. Not that he is not known but he isn't plastered everywhere like the main roster talent is. Just my opinion

Plus the guy was there for dunne and no use or want for black anyway so just leave this guy alone hahaha. Plus first come first serve especially since they did the extra limit of waiting and asking in back .

New theory: the OP, Bill, the blonde woman, the mother, and the store employee are all the OP. “Target” only exists in his mind and we are all random shoppers buying paper towels and orange juice

First of all, why would the OP or anyone else make up a story like this? What would it get him? Attention on a message board?? Bizarre... He has no reason to lie. He got his figure and was just sharing how. Why would he go through the trouble of making up a very believable story like this, when he could have just as easily made a post saying, "Hey guys! Finally got Dunne! Whoopeee!!"
Anyway, no doubt this disgusting woman was lying when she realized there was nothing left. I personally would have innocently started asking her questions about her "sick child."
"Oh, he likes Aleister Black, huh? Cool! Is that his favorite wrestler? It's nice to see a 5 year old that watches NXT! What else does he watch on the WWE Network?"
See how she reacts. If she starts to get nervous and doesn't have an answer, she is full of it. A real mom would smile and tell you all about her kid.
Then I would politely ask what hospital he was in, and tell her that I'm sure a bunch of indy wrestler friends that I know would love to come visit him, and that I'm sure they can help out with his figure collection. Again, if she completely dismisses it, she's a liar, liar, plants for hire!

This isn't what "figure-hunting" is supposed to be. Many of us work full-time & can't wait around one store for four hours until they finally decide to take some boxes off a pallet (and MAYBE the product that you want is there). It's hard enough to make it in to the various stores at all - especially since you often need to visit several just to find any product stocked at all.
None of what the OP wrote sounds "fun"...... it sounds like a lot of hassle..... I miss the excitement of walking into a retail store & seeing what's on the shelf today!

Kind of agree here there is none of this experience that sounds remotely fun. I work as well so if I'm able to stop in somewhere it has to be quick as it's usually on my way to a job. 4 hours for any figure is true commitment though. Gotta give it to him there I would have lost out once the lady said come back in a hour maybe we will find them by then

None of what the OP wrote sounds "fun"...... it sounds like a lot of hassle..... I miss the excitement of walking into a retail store & seeing what's on the shelf today! I think that, once upon a time, this sort of thing would have bugged me, but I've reached a point in my life where collecting is a passive hobby to me, and to be honest, it makes the whole thing entirely less stressful. If someone wants to spend that much time in and around a box retailer over a mass produced hunk of plastic, that's entirely their prerogative. I'm sure their collection dwarfs mine, and hey - more power to 'em. As for the excitement of walking into a retailer and seeing what's on the shelf? Go with that. It's entirely my approach, and yeah, it's often times more of a letdown than it isn't, but assuming life only affords you the passive chance to make your way down the toy aisle to begin with (as is the case with me), it isn't much of a dent in the sum of the hours in a day, and on the off chance you do happen across what you're after? Jackpot.
