I’m a Kofi fan. I swear I’ve never heard anyone mention him as a contender ever. All of a sudden since this weekend it’s all over the place with people talking about it like it has been an on going discussion for years. Did I miss something or is everyone being sheep? And if sheep is the answer who fabricated the idea?

When Mustafa got hurt someone in management decided to give Kofi a shot at Smackdown live last week. He didn’t disappoint so they added him to EC.

elimination chamber came down to Kofi and Bryan. Kofi gave a stirring performance. If anything this just shows how little there is to currently talk about in wrestling...

Kofi should have been a World Champion contender after his feud with Orton but he got the opposite. In any other wrestling company he woulda been a World Champion already. I'm not even a big fan of his but it'll be a nice change of scenery for him to be Champ. It's unexpected and builds a new main eventer.

I've always been a Kofi fan and have always thought he was a great wrestler. His performances in tag team matches over the years are more than enough proof of that. I wasn't against the idea of him becoming WWE Champion, but I just couldn't see it happening because WWE has kept him firmly in the midcard and tag team scene. With his performance in that Gauntlet match and the Chamber match, combined with the fact that the people are firmly behind Kofi, I think it's the perfect time to put the title on Kofi after 10 years.

sheep. I cant believe how people complained right after that he didn't win like they have been cheering for him to be champion for years. up until last monday, there was no kofi for champ movement. This is why WWE writers make big bucks. They sucked everyone right in. Kofi owes all of them a coke.

I think Kofi is just reminding everyone of what a talent he truly is. In many ways he's like this generation's Christian; one of the most decorated wrestlers of his generation, with the exception of the big one, constantly reliable and criminally overlooked.
Is Kofi Kingston ever going to be WWE Champion? Who knows. Mark Henry was on WWE television for fifteen years before they put the WHC on him. Same for Christian. Having said that, the WHC was always treated very differently than the WWE Championship, and that's what we're really talking about. Do we really see Kofi Kingston as the first ever black man to win it?

If they can put the strap on jinder, they can put the strap on anyone. That was trying to help viewership in other countries.

If they can put the strap on jinder, they can put the strap on anyone. That was trying to help viewership in other countries. And it did the exact opposite. Doesn’t take a genius to know that the top title on a perennial jobber to that point would kill the title and ratings everywhere. I agree that if Jinder can hold it then anyone can. Im not even a big Kofi fan but he’s had a decent following over the years to justify a “thank you” reign. I don’t think I’ve ever met a serious Jinder Mahal fan.

I'm a Jinder fan, as much as anyone can be a fan of a fictional character anyway. He has an iconic heel look. It's too bad they made him do the lame anti-american stuff. (I don't know why they can't have a heel be proud of their country without talking shiz about the U.S./racism, etc.) He's kind of a joke now, sadly.
...what was this topic about? Kofi? Who's that?

They think they are all "smart marks" who know more than everyone else but they are giving the reactions that WWE mostly tries to get!!!! Mostly. It doesn't always work lol

Kofi's always been a solid hand, but he was picked to fill a plucky underdog spot that was most likely going to go to Ali. The only time I could ever see him as world champion is during a reign with the New Day where they Freebird rule the title, but even that's a bit of a stretch. People just get sucked in to underdog stories really easily (I know I do) so I wouldn't look too far into it.
...At the same time though, I'm not so ignorant to think that Kofi would just be some jobber predominantly wrestling on Main Event as a knee jerk reaction to his placement here either. The guy's always been fairly over and has had multiple tag and mid-card title reigns. He's a solid mid-carder and there's nothing wrong with that. He's always had a decent following even if he isn't a main star like Bryan, Styles, or Reigns. To think otherwise is silly.
