You were at Target and Walmart 3 times this week. That’s the purpose of exclusives, to get you to come to their store when you normally would not. Maybe you’ll buy something else while you’re there is what they’re banking on. Why would it go away if their strategy is working? |

Yeah saw this as well instead of offering it to genuine collectors sold all of the Pete Dunne's for £200 or more on ebay Can I see the proof of this happening?? Check eBay (UK) sold listings for Mattel Pete Dunne... you will see ALL of them were sold for well over £100 by the same seller (toysandmasks), rather than putting them for sale on their website. The "get out" is probably that they were all sold at auctions and people bid up to these prices - still, it's hardly doing UK collectors any favours... |

I know I’ve picked up items other than what I originally intended on purchasing many of times while figure hunting. I’m confident others have too. These exclusives appear to be generating a lot of extra foot traffic in their stores so it’s a success for the retailer. |

I can’t possibly be the only person in the world like this the odds are just not there But you even admit that you’ll purchase other elites while there looking for exclusives. So it’s worked on you as well. But yeah, a lot of us are going to walk in and leave without buying anything. I’ve done that plenty of times myself. But some of us will buy something other than our intended purchase. That’s who these exclusives are targeting (pun not intended). |

Also..this is part of collecting anything. We’ve been spoiled with accessibility to every figure so easily for so long, that once they try to make better business decisions and make it more like other collector lines...everyone acts like a diva. Except I don't see this kind of frustrating distribution issues happen with other companies. Hasbro had it with the Star Wars Black Series, but they seem to be taking steps to correct that. There’s really not much else to explain other than it being out of Mattel’s hands for the most part. Some of you act as if they’re sitting on loads of unshipped figures, when it’s really up to the stores to places orders and the distribution centers to ship them to the stores. Most Mattel can do is get reps for every region, to keep track on shelves and to lay the hammer down on retail stores. I still haven’t seen any new black series in a while and am currently stuck with the marvel legend wave with doc oc. It’s all up to the stores and employees |
