question for MOC collectors...Why keep toys away from the children they are intended for and pinned up on your wall? So I shouldn’t have a collection if I don’t have children? What about loose collectors who don’t have children? I like having a collection of wrestling figures, and with no desire to play with them I enjoy keeping them displayed in full.

If only children are meant to buy or have toys/action figures, then forums like this probably wouldn't exist 2. Loose collectors, who don't play with their figures and display them on shelves or in a cabinet, are also keeping "toys away from the children they are intended for" 3. Adults are actually allowed to buy and have toys - and do whatever they like with them 4. Your post was ridiculous. Sorry.

... and if you don’t play with them, then leave em in the box. I’d rather keep something MOC knowing that it’ll keep it’s value, if I ever decided to sell them, than to open them up and lose the value just to have it do the same thing as it would do still in the box ... sit there. GRANTED, I’ve seen some sick loose displays, but I prefer MOC 👍🏻 Agreed 💯 I haven’t played with action figures since I was like 12 & was supposed to do that because I was a child You don't need to, literally, play with them to have a reason to open the figures. Displaying them close to each other in different poses alone is a way bigger reason than "playing". You can put them into cool shelves like Detolfs or other glass variants and put them besides cool accessories. Even putting them normally side by side in or on a shelf is 100 times more appealing to me, personally, to hang a hundred of huge plastic cases on the wall.

I didn't buy any figures between Hasbro and about 2 years ago when my kids got into playing with them. Toys are just that. Keeping them in plastic to retain value like done sort of evil santa, especially for those which are harder to find chases etc is a bit sad

And if so, there’s absolutely nothing with that. For me, it’s just how I enjoy having my collection.

It's not my cup of tea, but I appreciate that some folks enjoy the look of packaged figures or like getting them signed. But there's always a line. I was at a toy show today and overheard a kid (maybe 7-8) tell their parent "I can't wait to get home and play with these," and the parent just responded dead-pan "Remember, we don't open toys, they stay in the package."
There is definitely a point where MOC goes overboard, and that guy blew past it. And from what I could tell it didn't look like they were talking about some high dollar vintage MOC figures.

(just look at the crazy price a figure like Harley Race is fetching). And if you think figures like Bob Backlund and Sensational Sherri are being made for kids... think again.

That MOC collection above looks pretty awesome. I'm both a loose and MOC collector and I love how MOC figures look displayed on the wall. I'm too much of a hoarder to collect for profiting so my MOC collection isn't going anywhere.

But it doesn't take away the fact that figures like these are pretty much made for the collector's (ie. adult) market... not many kids will be wanting Bob Backlund over the likes of Reigns, Rollins, Brock etc.
